  1. Thread jacking is generally frowned upon at TD…. But with a title like Game thread “jack” I couldn’t help myself
  2. Exactly, the whole point is to see who wins at the end. If the game isn’t worth watching, I don’t tune out after 3.5 hours, I don’t watch it at all. Increase the pace and the percentage of impactful plays and there is a better sport to watch, which brings higher advertising dollars. Sports are the only shows left to watch live. MLB should be raking in the dough
  3. Hmmm, if only there were a technology where the broadcaster could “split the screen” where the game would appear on half the screen, and the advertisement would appear on the other half. That way the game could be played continuously and all of the parties would earn the advertising benefits/revenue!
  4. You get the cone of shame how dare you not have an opinion on everything on the internet
  5. If we cut a circle out of the center of the pie chart of blame, we can turn it into the cone of shame
  6. If Colome turns it around in 2022, I hope it’s for a different team. Even when he’s “good” it’s warning track fly balls that if the wrong butterfly flaps it’s wings, would go over the fence. Not sure if rookie struggles count as coming back, but I’d pick Larnach to bounce back next year. I think he’ll adjust to the bigs and improve his k/bb rate.
  7. Agreed with the OP premise. The FO needs to acquire 3 starters this offseason. A trade for an up-and-coming project starter is a great ancillary pitcher idea. Much like Pineda, if Toussant (or the other 2) is the best pitcher the Twins get, I’ll be upset. If he’s the third best pitcher the FO acquires along with a front of the rotation type and a strong number 2. I’ll be tickled pink.
  8. I followed Jeff Reardon after his Twins careers, even though he was a free agent acquisition in 1987. of the homegrown talent, Torii Hunter
  9. But on the bright side, the Jays lead the second wild card
  10. Galvis UZR150 is 2.6, and was 1.4 in 2021. World class? No, but not bad. For comp Polanco - career, -10.7, 2021, -7.4.. Simmons - career, 15.9 absolutely awesome, but 2021 -2.2. Arraez career -30.8, doesn’t have 2021 stats at short fielding stats vary a lot, but Galvis will bring a decent glove. Galvis wRC+ 81, and 2021 is 97. Simmons career wRC+ 87 and 2021 58! Polanco career wRC+ 110, 2021 129 Arraez career wRC+ 112, 2021 100 Simmons has been awful in every facet. I’m so done with him. Arraez, hits well, but not enough to overcome his fielding deficiencies. Polanco isn’t a short stop. He is an awesome 2B, let’s see him stay there
  11. Freddy Galvis can man the fort at SS adequately for 2 mil year to year. He’s not flashy with the glove, hits OK, and is cheap. buy pitching in the offseason. A whole lot of pitching
  12. Only if there’s A Light in the Attic, just be careful. Don’t Bump the Glump
  13. Indeed, but this team doesn’t hit well enough to overcome the Simmons black hole
  14. Polanco @ SS tonight, hopefully tomorrow and Sunday
  15. Several meetings this afternoon, but I had a gap this morning… I didn’t want to let down Gamethreader faithful! We have a dedicated crew
  16. The Jays are leading a close wild card race for the AL with the Red Sox and Yankees in a dead heat. Every game counts for the Jays, and I for one, will be rooting for them in the post season (but not tonight!). The Jays are a spicy team, tons of interesting players, and I love watch Vlad Jr play. It will be a tough series for our Twins... On the bump: Twins: Michael Pineda vs Jays: Hyun Jin Ryu Lineups: Twins: Buxton CF Polanco SS Donaldson 3B Sano 1B Refsnyder LF Arraez 2B Rooker DH Kepler RF Jeffers C Jay’s: Springer DH Semien 2B Guerrero 1B Bichette SS Hernandez RF Dickerson CF Gurriel LF Jansen CF Lamb 3B
  17. Catch: Jeffers 1B: Kirilloff 2B: Polanco 3B: Donaldson SS: FA Signing (Guess: Freddy Galvis) LF: Larnach, CF: Celestino RF: Kepler DH: Rotation DH/Bench: Sano, Arraez, Refsnyder, Garver assumption: Buxton traded for Pitching Donaldson DHs close to half time
  18. I gotta think sending Moran out for the extra inning was bullpen management, to give everyone an extra day off. agreed with others, not sure Moran has the arsenal to be a 2+ inning reliever. I still want to see more of Jax. He may not be my first option for the opening day rotation, but is he the swing man? 6 starter or 8th? The average rotation uses 10 or more starters in a season, how many of those should Jax get in 2022, considering Dobnak is struggling to get healthy on a lingering finger strain?
  19. I think everyone was ready to go home by that point… what a disaster
  20. 1-0... can these hitters come back from the deficit?
  21. Well deserved award for Jax! Thank you for your service Griffin! https://www.mlb.com/press-release/press-release-griffin-jax-named-mlb-recipient-of-bob-feller-act-of-valor-award
  22. Agreed. A batted ball traveling at 100 miles per hour goes 146 feet per second. In front of the 60’6” rubber, Ryan had less than half a second to react and move his hand. sure, drills and such… he can do things, just like hitters, but yeah, hard to find fault.
