  1. Somehow 11 & 12 got deleted as I was typing, but Gonsalves 11 and Harrison 12......Thanks for seeing that.
  2. Also think it is a very close call, Buxton and Harrison are my favorite 2 minor leaguers, but I have to go with the Low draft pic who is , I assume, exceeding all expectations........Seems the Kernals are finding someplace to play him every nite.
  3. Nice to see the player(s) appreciate the work behind the scenes, nice article Mat.
  4. I said it, we are trying to give this one away!!!!
  5. If you bring in Duensing, that will be a recipe for disaster, but this game is not looking good, and we are ahead.
  6. We are trying our best to give this game away!!!!!
  7. Well if we were going to replace him with an outfielder, the only outfielder, i believe, on the 40 man that isnt hurt or playing is Kepler, and only one position player in AAA on 40 man(Pinto)
  8. 1. Buxton 2. Sano 3. Berrios 4. Polanco 5. Meyer 6. Gordon 7. Rosario 8. Kepler 9. Burdi 10 Hu 13 Stewart 14 Minier 15 Z Jones 16 Reed 17 Thorpe 18 Walker 19 Duffy 20 Jorge 21 Turner I didnt include JR Graham who is technically still a prospect for a week or 2.......I would probably slot him in the 18 to 20 range.
  9. Would be nice to get a hit with a runner in scoring position, 2 wasted innings, but at least we are hitting the ball, it will come
  10. Only minor league non independent team stadium I have been to is Cedar Rapids, I dont have much to compare it too, but I liked the venue and of course when I went (Apr 27, 2013) i got to see Buxton and the crew, so fun, and for the other team i got to see Corey Seager, on his birthday hit 2 HR's. If i remember right we won in extra innings ..............but for independent baseball, Newman Stadium in Fargo was nice venue, small but nice............and has anyone seen the new St Paul Saints stadium???? Will this be their first yr or yr 2????
  11. There should not be any tension in the Aiken/Nix fiasco, the Astros were proven right in my mind.................Man, they took alot of flak , even after still offering $5M.....................Aiken is probably forever damaged goods compared to other TJ patients..............Stay away from Aiken, under no circumstances should he be taken in the 1st round, or at least the first 15 to 20 picks, IMO
  12. Bregman and Tucker are my preferences , in that order........if not either of them, then a pitcher.
  13. Here is some comparables: Hicks: .205 ML BA 478 AB................Minor league stats Avg .275, OBP .379, SLG .427, GO/AO 1.15 Bradley: .193 ML BA 487 AB................Minor league stats Avg .296, OBP .394, SLG..457, GO/AO 1.24 I think alot more pressure to perform in Boston than Minnesota, and maybe a change in scenery will make a difference, just like if Hicks fails again here, maybe he needs a new voice, again not advocating for it, but i wouldnt be against it.
  14. Why wouldnt someone take a flier on him, former supplemental 1st round pick, with a good Minor league history? I am not saying we necessarily should, but i wouldnt be against it...........I know we have alot of minor league prospects, but the more you have the better chance of making one or more stick. Just my 2 cents
  15. But, they let a good Cuddyer go after 32, and a good Hunter go at 31-32. But you may be talking something else other than age
  16. I know alot of low draft pick players do well early, but Alex is doing extremely well, I like his very low strikeout rate........if he get promoted next yr to AA and can hit .300 or better, he will become a prospect I would guess.......Always pulling for the underdog
  17. It will win alot of games, but IMO we need at least one ACE to win championships.........So, tho i prefer to find one in the draft or get lucky, we may have to trade for one.
  18. Sign him to an extension!!!!! on pace for 18-6
  19. For me the only untouchable is Buxton, everyone else I would trade for the right piece, dont know what that is right now, but by the end of the yr we might. .........but I would lean toward a true ace pitcher that has 4 yrs or less on a contract(ala, Cole Hamels) or someone like him.................I personally really like Hamels as a pitcher and he has 3 plus yrs left on his contract, it wont happen, but i would be open to throwing a few prospects their way.
  20. LOL, i cant believe i missed that.......I am prophetic in my own mind only
  21. Because he is not 6'5 or lefthanded or was never a top prospect and he doesnt throw 95??????? I think all of the above........I will keep cheering for the underdog and I think when MLB Prospect Pipeline adds another top 30 player after JR Graham drops off, I will predict Hu
  22. And Hu too??? I know nothing about Hu other than the stats i read, but he is 8 months older than Gonsalves and is already doing it at the next level.............And does anyone have a reason that Hu is only pitching 6 innings a start, 7 innings once and 5 innings twice, is he on a pitch or innings count this yr, or is his pitch counts hi???? Hard to believe pitch counts to be hi with low walk rate.......Anyone have answers???
  23. Even tho , I am in the Harrison camp on this subject, I hope I am wrong about Walker, we all would love for both of them to be productive Major leaguers
