  1. I thought you did a good job!
  2. Why are you stereotyping and insulting all Minnesotans? Could there possibly be another explanation, such as you're opinion is wrong?
  3. Feel free to use your definition, I'll feel free to use mine. I say it was a continuation, but if there is a definitive law of where one rebuild ends and another starts under the same GM, please provide said link.
  4. Theo took over a team which won 92 games the year before and was blessed with the 2nd highest payroll in baseball. Read up on what he just said his free agent approach will be this winter. It sounded Ryanesque to me.
  5. You call it the second, I call it the first. Prove me wrong.
  6. I think Ryan mentioned 15-18 new faces on the roster. I agree with gunnarthor, I can't imagine it will be difficult to do. I believe this year it will be addition by subtraction.
  7. Millions of loyal and knowledgeable Twins fans, still recall the 1st Ryan rebuild and the domination of the Central that followed. What evidence do you have that the GM and the franchise have earned no trust?
  8. It is patently false to think that philosophical problems with this organization will prevent them from winning and a great farm system won't change a 95 loss team.
  9. With Hicks and Gibson, I'm not sure what the difference is between a rookie having a tough time of it in his first exposure to the bigs and a notable failure. Parmelee is a late 1st round pick, who may or not be big league caliber. I have no idea how you can blame this on Gardy.
  10. The Twins never have and never will be the type of organization that easily panics. I couldn't help noticing fans are screaming for the heads of the Viking coaches and my beloved Gophers.
  11. Congratulations to the Indians for winning their last 10 games and making the play-offs. Obviously I don't know, but I view them as the flavor of the day, and I don't see anything that is sustainable. An OP referenced 7 articles in another thread, where the national media lauded our very own Twins for the strength of our farm system and progress made in the rebuilding effort.
  12. He hit well for 2 years at the JUCO level and very well in the tough SEC. Prior to the draft, they said there was disagreement on his hit tool, and a team that thinks he will hit will probably draft him. I don't see an automatic comparison to Butera, just because he's outstanding defensively. The Twins were obviously looking for catchers, this is one of 3 we took in the first 10 rounds. I think he's a fast riser, but I really don't count on 3rd round picks.
  13. So we should minimize Gardy's fine work because the A's cheated and the Central was weak? That is certainly a stretch and I would be surprised if many fans buy it.
  14. Plouffe has been in the organization since 2004. I see him ending next season in some type of utility role and gone the next. I don't know how an organization can show any more patience than the Twins have and I would be hard-pressed to blame Gardy. To me, he's just a late 1st round pick who never made it.
  15. Outstanding!
  16. I like your idea and I would bring Hendriks along slowly, not unlike Pressly this year.
  17. I think it's a great idea, but maybe premature. I think we have to wait on our 10-20 prospects to play out before we will have the ammo. I have no problem using Perkins as our headliner at a trading deadline deal, but I can't see any other chips at this time. If we can get Butera deals from The Hammer and Doumit I'd be happy.
  18. The plan to compete was a disaster. The rebuilding plan, now all of 22 months old, continues to show signs of future success. A less stable or experienced organization may well have commingled the two, surrendered to pressure, and traded Sano and/or Buxton.
  19. He didn't give an exact stat. They were talking in generic terms. Ryan said he is not as down on his pitching as the interviewer's statement. I can't say that I agree with him, but I certainly don't think this was the time or place to throw his entire pitching staff under the bus.
  20. 1. The full season ticket package is 81 games. I doubt the full package is heavily influenced by 1 All-Star game. 2. Sano and Buxton will be at Target Field no later than September 1st. 1st down payment is due in October on renewals. I would say the soonest is much more likely to be 30-45 days than 3 years. 3. That 1 sentence, 18 word paraphrase has not been verified by another source. Until I hear otherwise, I'm assuming it's no more accurate than the quote provided that Ryan will never participate in free agency again.
  21. Good luck RB! The undefeated Gophers are playing the Pigs.
  22. I don't know why anyone is concerned about money, right now the Twins have almost unlimited gold. I don't care if Pelfrey comes back or not, but having 3 heathly pitchers like Correia, Gibson, and Pelfrey, who can take the ball every 5 days is far from the worst way to start a rotation. An OP posted an article about the definitions of 1's, 2's, 3's etc. One of the examples used by the author for a 3 was Pelfrey.
  23. Chief, in 2010 we were contenders and Target Field was shiny and new. Attendance has dropped in MLB. The loveable losers had their worst attendance in 15 years. Our new players will put butts in the seats shortly, way before there can possibly be any sort of short term impact, much less long term.
