    I am sure there are good reasons, but I don't understand why Rojas is limited to 4 innings in all his starts.

    It seems to me we have a lot of prospects that the team does not value the way other teams might and with the trade deadline I think we should be looking beyond the Jeffers, Ryan, Larnach, Bell talks and start to think about which prospects can be used to bring back a BP arm or other assets. Sabato, Wallner, Fedko, Amick, DeBarge, Tait if we are moving on from him, and a few others seem to fit this profile.

    A few notes - I am a big Matthews fan and really hope for success, but against a team like the A's I do not call that a really good game - he managed the game and gets a lot of credit for it, but after the last three games where he gave up 10, 4, 4 runs in 13 innings, he needed a solid performance. I want him in the rotation all the way but still he has a 5.21 era, 1.316 Whip, and 796 OPS against he has a lot of work to do. Second observation - ground balls are still a real weapon for the defense and pitcher. The emphasis on Ks misses the fact that many pitchers made a career out of DP and ground outs. Look at how we were shut down by the ground out. Ask Wilson the A's SS - one inning he was the entire defense. We hit into 3DPs.

    Not sure of the articles conclusion. Many of the statements are circular - we could do this but we might not do this... I am indifferent. The team will not win the WS and that is the real goal. Time to reshuffle the roster rather than just saying everyone can play everywhere. Roster construction is crucial. And learning how to transition prospects into stars is essential too. The reason Cleveland and Milwaukee succeed each year is the fact their system knows how to produce pitchers. What is our developement strength?

    Think of him as a third baseman, not 1B - Pirates, Brewers and Marlins all need 3B. He still has value - trade him. Jeffers is obvious. Not sure if Larnach is since his resurgence. But Wallner, Martin, Lewis are all good chips. Ryan has me in a quandry. I hate giving up a good pitcher.

    I always follow these rankings, but seldom agree with them. I am still partial to those closest to making in in the majors - like Culpepper and Jenkins. I am never ready to rate the new acquisitions until I see them perform in the minors. And like the comments in another forum - how do we judge players when AAA pitching doesn't come close to mlb? Overall I think we have some talent in the minors, but I see too many players on the list that I think have very little future. I also look at Dasan Hill and wonder what he has done this year to keep his ranking? Keep posting it gives me something to write about.

    Fedko back in St Paul after 0 for Minneapolis and hits a HR. Watching the Saints hit bombs and wondering what it means? Is it just that easy in St Paul? Is AAA pitching that bad?

    Joe would probably be happy to go to Toronto and have a reliever like Louis Varland to close out his games! Imagine that combo.

    I know players go through down weeks, but Lewis has not produced over a sustained time period in over a year. 233. 237. 218 over the last three years. OPS+ this year 91 and last year 85. In his rookie year he looked like a star. I know injuries have held him back, but with the prospects knocking is he still a must start player?

    It is hard to comment or to make a judgment but somethings jump out. The obvious things are to sell Jeffers - do it now don't wait. He will be gone so get something in return. Bring up Jenkins - give us something to root for. Lewis 3 - 16 last five games - has he really learned his lessons or are we just over valuing him? Is Rojas really a starting pitcher? Who is the next DFA pitcher we can add to the BP?

    My analysis isn't worth much, but neither was the Varland trade. We tore apart the BP and we have not recovered or we would be in first place. What bothers me most is that we did not need Roden, no matter what your thoughts are about his ability. OF is where we have the most prospects. It did not fill a need, but it did damage a real need.

    I am so glad I was too busy today. I think I remember how we were excited to take off after the all star game - not sure this is the take-off I was anticipating. Team Rankings, "The Cleveland Guardians are averaging 3.92 runs per game during the 2026 Major League Baseball season. This mark ranks at the bottom of the league, with their home scoring average sitting at 3.88 runs per game and their away average at 3.96 runs per game." Aren't we the most prolific scorers? And Funderburk, Nance, GO continued the masterful pitching - yikes.

    I know everyone is high our two new draft choices, but with Caratini gone in another year we might need Tait.

    Mason could not help in todays debacle. Let's stop thinking about the moon and LOOK for some small tweaks.

    This point so the danger of pushing prospects of the list too quickly. I know a lot will disagree with me but this is why I don't like seeing lackey being put up so high and the prospect list before he faces professional pitching

    I am curious about Garrett Spain. It seems like I read about him a lot in these posts. What is his status? Will he make the top 20 list soon?

    The enthusiasm is great, but I am on hold. Lackey has not even hit a minor league pitch, and he seems to be anointed the catcher of the future, but Tait, Diaw, and Tinney have something to say about that. For all I know he will be a Levi Michaels. What I am interested in will be the promotion of Jenkins and Houston - those two look like they could become stars.
