  1. Playoff game #1 4 Plate appearances in order: Walk (Stranded at first) Hit by pitch (Stranded at first) Fly out to center Fly out to center But they won guaranteeing at least 2 more games for Wade at Low A this season!
  2. Lol, Except you just made both of them 2 man threads...
  3. Now here is the danger in small sample sizes... Look at these low A season stats... G 4 AB 14 H 2 R 1 RBI 1 BB 1 K 2 (Now that's a bad K/BB rate) Avg .143 OBP .250 Slug. .143 OPS .393 Playoffs tonight...
  4. Final Stats W 7 L 7 ERA 3.16 IP 134 H 125 ER 47 BB 41 K 65 Avg .249 WHIP 1.24 Starting Lee in high A was a bit of a surprise coming into the year, but considering his early struggles, it was probably the right choice. Lee finished the year very strong but will probably start in AA again next year with a shot at a mid-season promotion. He is not flashy but there is something to be said about guys that can get the results. (Is Tommy Milone a good comp.?)
  5. How did May end up in the bullpen? This is how I predict it will look when Spring training is over. What's your prediction? We will see in the spring and I may be wrong! (But I might be right too)
  6. I will predict he is one of our starters coming out of Spring Training next year. In order our SP will be: Santana Hughes Berrios May Gibson Nolasco will be in the bullpen or gone via trade. I think we will also trade Milone in the off season; SP's that have a track record of getting as many wins as losses are desirable. Duffey will be in AAA as our first call in case of injury guy.
  7. Something to remember when discussing innings is how much time they had off last winter. Did they play winter ball? Were they off at all? Berrios needs to be ready for next year. Going all in on a wild card one game playoff seems foolish risk for what could be years of division dominance we are hoping for in the future from him and the rest of the team. I've been preaching it all year... We're preparing for next year. Finally, I would like to say this. A lot of posters have talked about going all in this year while talking about all our flaws...really?!? You don't go all in and sacrifice the future when you still have this many flaws. You don't go all in to make the playoffs or even to make it to the second round. You go all in when you see you can win it ALL if you go all in. Hopefully that's next year, but at no point was that this year.
  8. LaMonte Wade was announced as the August TD minor league hitter of the month runner up today...So close but the right choice was made for #1...
  9. I might lean more towards Berrios given the strike outs, walks, and WHIP but Lee didn't have even the "one bad inning" in the whole month. I can see the argument both ways
  10. Seth stole my thunder (When I lost my write up last night) by making Brett the Twins Daily minor league starting pitcher of the month of August so instead of discussing August, I will make this more about me. Since being adopted, Lee has pitched in 7 games. He is 6-0 in those games pitching 46.2 innings and only allowing 8 runs. He has struck out 28 batters (5.4 K/9) while only walking 12 over that stretch. His earned run average since adoption is 1.54 with a 0.94 WHIP. Lee credits his pitching coach at Chatanooga for the growth and development; I claim 10% credit as well.
  11. Well, dang it, you stole my thunder! I wrote about Lee as my adopt a prospect last night but then I lost my write up before I posted it and went to bed. I was trying to take partial credit as he is undefeated as my prospect but alas, he didn't give me any credit...
  12. Ok, now we're talking steam on this kid! 64 games, 231 at bats and he's now at Cedar Rapids! Elizabethton stats: 8 doubles, 5 Triples and 9 homers. 44 RBIs and 36 runs scored. 46BB to 34 K's. .312 BA, .428 OBP and .506 slugging. (That's a .934 OPS for you Math wizards) Finally, he stole 12 of 13 bases attempted.
  13. This is also a preliminary list. General managers have to be concerned about who takes these guys places on the current teams for the remainder of the minor league seasons. They also have to be concerned about relations with those towns and teams that are wanting playoff runs. There are lots of factors the MLB fan does not have to care about
  14. I never heard of " Real Deal" or " Vanimal" or even " Little Papi" Coke bottles...
  15. Exactly. He already has a nickname. La Maquina or the Machine.
  16. Last 10 games, 12 hits in 34 at bats plus 11 walks. He struck out once and stole 2 more bases (both in the same game) Plus this: LaMonte Wade was named an Appy League Utility/Outfield All Star.
  17. Oliveros gets a chance with another team and keeps his ERA below 3.00 all year. Vargas or Arcia traded for peanuts and they light it up next year. Signing another #3 free agent pitcher for 3-4 years Entering next Spring without addressing the bullpen, catcher or Shortstop
  18. Yes, yes he will. I'll go further. I predict 40+ home runs next year (barring significant injuries), HOF, and Twins Home Runs in a season record. I further predict that some day he will rank in our hearts and minds with Killebrew and Puckett. Love, love, love this kid! It's gonna be a great ride. And he has what could be the best Twins supporting cast of all time... We will see on that. The future is bright and it is partially arrived already.
  19. I think the true source of frustration for those tired of the pitchforks on TD is the day to day changes. Someone hits poorly for a week or pitches poorly 2-3 straight appearances and the pitchforks appear. Likewise, someone goes on a tear for 3 straight starts striking out hitters at a career pace or hit well for two straight weeks and the contract extension talks begin. People, baseball is streaky and has ups and downs. Get off the SSS bandwagons. As for TR, the jury is still out. The rebuild was supposed to produce a mediocre team this year. If we are close to a 90 loss team, fire him.TR looked like a genius in Early June and the Santana signing looked good at first. Everyone hated Pelfrey until he was a great pitcher for 2 months, TR was told not to trade him by TD and then he tanked and he's a fool for not trading him. SSS on TR is looking at the past Months lack of moves. Should there have been moves at the deadline? I thought so. He failed to produce a champion in the first decade of this millennium, true. But the time to discuss TR is after the season is over and we see the full results of his work.
  20. I do not think bringing Kepler up this season was a concern or thought at all. We have enough young guys on the MLB roster and being in contention, we didn't need another. Moving him to AAA might have been a good option and based on seasons past, it could still happen but not a big issue in my book. Next year, there is no need to rush him as we will have Buxton ironing out the kinks with Hicks, Rosario, and Arcia (who's ironing things out himself) We have no guarantees. Any of them could look like major leaguers next year or they could all rake...we don't really know. Rosario may have a sophomore slump, Buxton might hit 110 the first couple months, Arcia may be this years version of Arcia and Hicks may regress or they may be the best OF in MLB. Kepler only adds to those questions. Just because he's doing well at AA does not mean he'll be ready any time next year (see Hicks) and he has been a slow developer his whole MiLB career. I'm not concerned at all that he stayed in AA.
  21. Thank you, I feel so much better now that you have put things in that light.
  22. I think this would be a year too soon for Gordon, maybe next fall coming out of high A or AA second half of season but not out of low A where he took some time to develop this year.
  23. Maybe Kohl Stewart as he has missed time due to injuries? Push the prospect?
