  1. Vargas needs a AAA stint. Pinto, Hicks, or Rosario needs to be brought up to replace him. Considering our CF/Outfield issues, Arcia to DH and both Hiicks and Rosario would make me happy. Yes, that means moving on from a certain Center Fielder. We all know which one...
  2. Gonsalves would be hard to beat but those are great numbers none the less. I cant wait to see guys like these moving up notches as the year progresses. Room will have to be made but there is room in the higher levels.
  3. Great updates bulldozier. I love your format. I had really high expectations for Rosario this year. If he can get his OBP up, he will be up Im sure.
  4. already a topic in this forum down just a few notches from this one
  5. Laborers in the Middle Ages were organized into guilds with three levels of expertise. New recruits were apprentices taken in by a Master who would teach them a trade. The new Apprentice was not given the freedom to work independently but was closely supervised until they reached the skill level of a Journeyman, one who was adequate to do the job independently but not as skilled as a master. These Journeymen might continue to work for the same Master or they might move from Master to Master or even city to city seeking to learn enough to establish themselves as a Master eventually and become independent instead of employed. Similar systems still are in place today. My brother in law is a master electrician in the state of Minnesota with his own business. Until he gained the license as a Master electrician, he was a Journeyman and had to work under a Master Electrician. My Mom was a Minnesota Master gardener and opened her own greenhouse.
  6. No? Saw them both on the GCL roster... Was hoping...
  7. I would like to adopt Zaino Henriquez and Carlos Suniago from the GCL
  8. Dozier didn't make the list... Those international signings sure skews my expectations
  9. He pitched the game I went to last week and he was mixing up his pitches pretty good, it wasn't just all fastballs. Every pitch changed speeds and most were strikes. There were three hard hit balls all game, one leading to a run but he had them swinging silly at off speed stuff. Most of all, he seemed to know how to pitch to each guy in a way that made them look off balance and uncomfortable in the batters box. His hardest pitch was 93 on the radar gun but Seth pointed out that the position of the gun means you should probably add a couple MPH to what the scoreboard said.
  10. Let's define mediocre...I see it as a term meaning somewhere around the middle or average. You have to have guys like that on a team. World series teams have average guys on their team. I will take an average pitcher out of Sam Fuld for Milone... that's a pretty good deal in my mind. Now when Santana is back, Meyers turns into an Ace and Hughes and Gibson fill out your starters... I'm OK with Milone as a fifth starter.
  11. She was the rowdy "mom" type for all the "kids" on the field. She just didn't want anyone to feel bad on either team. we were a couple of the loudest fans there
  12. To be honest I couldn't tell what all the different pitches Gonsalves was throwing but it was some nasty stuff. Rarely were there two pitches in a row within 10 MPH of eachother until the 7th when he threw 91,91,93 back to back to back. There was one Peoria guy that was tied in knots two pitches in a row. I laughed so loud he heard and my wife told me to quiet down... I hoped to see Nick Gordan do something cool and he had a nice long at bat in the first but that was it wth the bat. In the field he made everything look routine which is what you want to see. I have read about the speed of Zach Granite. His steal of second base was all speed. Good pitch, catch and perfect throw to second but Zach (barely) beat it out. Trey Vavra pinch hit and knocked one deep for the "play of the game" according to the stadium announcer and that was the game! Zack Tillery came in and shut the door for the official win but the night really did belong to Gonsalves!
  13. Hr trey Vavra, 5-1
  14. Zach Granite takes a walk, steals second on the first pitch to Gordan, is advanced to third on a Gordan ground out and comes home on wild pitch. His speed is fun to watch
  15. He actually threw one pitch in the dirt that only hit 58mph
  16. Gonsalves pitched 7 innings and struck out 10 giving up just one run. His hardest fastball was 93 but his Off speed stuff was all over the radar gun. He made some hitters look really silly. Now 1-1 in the eighth.
  17. First inning fast ball hanging in high 80s, touched 92. Off speed stuff dropping to 70. Has the batters a little off balance though he walked one
  18. I will try to post updates during the game but if not I will review after its over...Gonsalves is the starter scheduled...
  19. Getting it done. 2-0
  20. I have confidence he can be a solid mediocre MLB arm. PS Mediocre is MUCH better than bad or AAAA...
  21. Name of this post does not reveal all the secrets inside... Maybe renaming it "Twins choose 5th starter and cf" would reveal more. I'm disappointed by the May move more than any other this offseason, Not that it is the wrong move, I just wanted him here full time after last year. He wasn't stellar but he was progressing at the MLB level and I think he belongs here now, Similar to how Gibson came up and developed the rest of the way up here... All that to say I think it is the wrong move for May and his progress. I just hope its a temporary move until Pelfrey or Milone is moved. Hopefully BOTH of those two can show enough early that someone else will want them.
  22. .298 OB%... Not quite as bad as you describe it but not good...85 and 91 were horrific statistically though.
