  1. Nice Read, thanks for sharing! Gimenez sounds like a guy that is always open to learning and growing his craft. That is a great attribute even if I do hope Garver pushes his way up some time this year.
  2. Activated from DL 1.275 WHIP and 4.72 ERA with a 7.4 K/9 in 13.1 innings. He has allowed 10 runs but only 7 earned. A good chunk of that because he's allowed 3 HR's.
  3. Step one: Find Talent Step two: Draft or sign Talent Step three: Develop Talent I think there have been problems at all three steps when it comes to pitching and for much of the Twins history, middle infield. It seems the Middle Infield problem has improved recently, now for the pitching improvement...
  4. Great report! This guy is the bullpen help the MLB team needs. The sooner he is ready to come up the better. I would like to see him promoted soon at least to AAA if not just skipping a level all the way up here. I know <12 innings is not a lot of innings but it is the type of situations he is being put in for those 11+ innings.
  5. Byung Ho Park Activated to AAA Rochester roster, Quentin Berry released https://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2017/05/minor-mlb-transactions-5917.html
  6. I was really REALLY hoping he would force his way up by striking out less and keeping the slugging and OPS high...Is he struggling because he has changed his approach to reduce the K's?
  7. Team as a whole contending for the pennant? Pretenders. This year is the last year of preparing for next year. Next year I EXPECT contenders. This year, I see them remaining right around 500 and selling a couple pieces at the All Star Break/Trade Deadline in preparation for next years run. This is also still the first year of Falvey/Lavine and they are still putting the pieces in place for their grand scheme. I don't think they are even pretending that they are doing anything more than establishing the groundwork for what we all hope will be a long run of contention behind Berrios, Gonsalves, and McKay.
  8. I think, believe, hope that some things we are seeing are hints of what we are not able to see. Falvey/Lavine are supposedly bringing in a new metrics based way of coaching up pitchers. I see Tepesch and Rucinski as place holders easily dumped later while the future gets a feel for some mystical new way of thinking. Leadership always has to remain long term focused.
  9. I liked the drafting of Ben, I was excited they got him to sign and I am becoming very excited about the type of prospect he's quickly becoming!
  10. I expected a relief arm until Gibsons next turn at which point a reliever will go down and hopefully Berrios up. I don't mind they went with Rucinski on a 5 day rental even if it turns out they send someone else down or out the door. I don't want to yank around prospects on five days trips.
  11. Another possibility is a bat until next Wednesday...
  12. I would say somewhere in the 26-28 age range I start to question their prospect status but I don't necessarily have a firm cutoff in that range in my mind because sometimes you do get that late bloomer that really just surprises everyone. You also have those that have had rashes of injuries delaying them. Age does affect my internal mental ranking of prospects for sure.
  13. I seems like I have seen David Hurlbut in the also rans MANY times over the last few years. He stands out to me as a pitcher with that name is cool in itself. Is he another Wheeler? Always a bridesmaid, never destined to dance center stage with the big club?
  14. I sent stitches a direct message asking him to either start a thread or let you know. If you don't hear from him in the next day or so, I would say go ahead and adopt him yourself... But of course, I am not in charge so take all my suggestions with caution...
  15. The reason players like the long contracts is Guaranteed money. They never know when an injury may shorten their career and take away future dollars. There is a big risk reward thing going on with not accepting the long contracts if offered. That is also why many teams are leery of those big contracts... (Insert Joe Mauer and Justin Morneau comparisons here:) Given his age and our current budget, I would love to see the Twins give him more money now to decrease what we need to give him later. Go NHL on it and front load the contract even. (Insert Zach Parise comparison here)
  16. Twins Minor League Player of the Week: Jermaine Palacios (see comment #9) http://twinsdaily.com/topic/25599-2017-twins-minor-league-awards/?do=findComment&comment=612565 Palacios has logged 89 at bats in 21 games and is hitting 393/432/573 for a 1005 OPS. He has 3 doubles, 5 triples, and a homer. Defensively, he has played all 184.1 innings at Short with a 955 FPCT. He has committed 4 errors in 89 chances. 10 of those were turned into double plays.
  17. Adopt a Prospect Thread Here: http://twinsdaily.com/topic/25706-jermaine-palacios-2017/
  18. I think, with this front office, how they are doing defensively is probably more important than offensively.
  19. For a minute I questioned Burdi at two over Anderson at three but factoring in age vs competition, I can see this ranking.
  20. Mejia made his first AAA start of the year going 7 innings without allowing a run. He gave up 2 hits, no walks and struck out 6.
  21. Nice, a complete game shutout. Jack Morris must be so pleased!
  22. Watching the video, Gibson looked pretty pedestrian.
  23. Wade is hitting 246/371/368 In 57 at bats for a 740 OPS. He has 11 walks to 9 K's. He has stolen 2 bases without being caught. Wade only has 1 double but he has 2 home runs. Defensively, Wade has played mostly in Left field. He is caught behind Tanner English who is better defensively and has taken the most CF innings on the Lookouts. Wade has 15 games and 83 innings in left where his only error of the season also occurred. He has also logged 4 games and 28 innings CF and 5 games with 40 innings In right. From right field, he was able to add a double play by throwing out a runner.
  24. I hadn't realized (or I forgot) he was also doing some Center Field work. I like his attitude of trying to get to MLB this year. DanSan's replacement?
  25. Tyler Wells has not been adopted yet so if you would like to, you may. Here is how you do it: 1- Post here your "draft pick" 2- Start a page for him by starting a new topic titled "Tyler Wells - 2017" in this forum. 3- Give a bio with at least the basics but preferably some history as the first post. (Feel free to copy what you have seen others do). 4- Then post an update every week or two. With Starting Pitchers, an update every game or two is preferable but at least minimally every couple weeks.
