  1. Ohl looks ok for an inning or two. Both outings got iffy as he exceeded 50 pitches, seemed to lose command.
  2. "It’s nice having a SS who can hit — Twins Central (@TwinsCentral1) " That's just cold.
  3. They don't. I expect the tradeoff for taking on Walker's salary was sending much less cash back to Houston. Which is why Houston said no.
  4. I expect the Twins offered significantly less cash in return for taking on that salary. If the player is worth having Houston knows they can shed that salary in a separate trade.
  5. What contender is improved by trading for Larnach? Poor defense, spotty offense, total slug on the base paths. There's no market at the deadline. Maybe they can swap him in the offseason for someone else's underperforming player at a position of less depth.
  6. We didn't want guys who are no better than the underperformers we want to replace. So far to me Roden looks indistinguishable from Larnach. Nobody needs two Larnachs.
  7. I enjoy watching this team more than the pre-deadline edition. Amazing how lowered expectations can enhance your viewing pleasure.
  8. Julien admiring his non-HR instead of legging out a triple? Larnach jogging the bases like it's an NFL walkthrough? There are still a few players who need their attitude adjusted, ideally via DFA.
  9. Tells you a lot about management's goals for the rest of the season. Can we "earn" a top 2 pick?
  10. $1.5B + $425M is $1.925B. Just under $2B for a franchise generously estimated to have a value of $1.5B. At the Pohlad's asking price it's over $2B. A 25% overpay on purchase does not allow for much further investment in the business.
  11. Bingo. Just come out and say "I'm better than the rest of these bums". Well, after a couple seasons slumming with the AL Central riff raff Correa's going home. We can all pray his seasons in the wilderness didn't take too much luster off his case for the HOF. We truly didn't deserve him.
  12. Agree. The entitlement is through the roof. Aside from the monster contract the Twins apparently owe him perennial playoff appearances and a role in team management. Not responsibility, of course, just a say. Too bad the rules don't allow for Correa to eat some of that money when he decides he wants to play elsewhere.
  13. They are much, much smarter than you or I. Just ask them.
  14. Looked exactly like the pre-selloff Twins. "Only the names have been changed..."
  15. They played anywhere near their potential the team would not have been gutted. If they're pissed they need to look in the mirror.
  16. Couple more from MLB 08/01/25Minnesota Twins selected the contract of RHP Erasmo Ramírez from St. Paul Saints. 08/01/25Minnesota Twins selected the contract of RHP José Ureña from St. Paul Saints.
  17. The league needs to improve competitive balance. The critical factor is sharing media revenue. If a salary cap is the trade off for pooling and sharing broadcast rights it's well worth it.
  18. From MLB 08/01/25 Minnesota Twins activated LF Alan Roden. 08/01/25 Minnesota Twins recalled RHP Travis Adams from St. Paul Saints. 08/01/25 Minnesota Twins recalled RHP Pierson Ohl from St. Paul Saints. 08/01/25 Minnesota Twins recalled 2B Edouard Julien from St. Paul Saints. 08/01/25 Minnesota Twins recalled 3B Ryan Fitzgerald from St. Paul Saints. 08/01/25 Minnesota Twins recalled CF Austin Martin from St. Paul Saints.
  19. And MLB shows no transactions as of 13:18 EST. Really curious to see who's coming up.
  20. My little league coach tried to teach me a traditional stance, but no....Rod had shown me the way and I would not be dissuaded.
  21. DH implies plus offensive production. Twins had too many players who are negatives in the field and at the plate. And as noted, the situation is no different after the deadline.
  22. All the contenders who traded for relief will be waiving their back-of-the-bullpen vets. Twins will pick up a couple of the cast-offs to fill out the pen. The cheap ones.
