  1. "The front office did a tremendous job of putting quality talent on the 25-man roster this offseason." Not sure I can agree with this, given their performance on the field.
  2. But they aren't all consensus top 100 prospects. All 3 get on some, don't make the cut on others. And they are all towards the bottom of the top 100 when they do. Miami will want at least one top 30'ish prospect to start, then negotiate the remaining pieces from there. I doubt there is any dialogue that doesn't include Royce Lewis. Lucroy brought 2 top 50 prospects, with 1 less year of team control, I believe.
  3. A loss tonight puts the Twins closer to the White Sox than the Indians. Are they mathematically eliminated? No, but neither are the Royals. This isn't a contender. We have the 10th worst record in baseball. Being in a terrible division doesn't change that.
  4. I don't think Gordon, Gonsalves and Kiriloff is even a starting point for Realmuto, let alone enough.
  5. Where did the article suggest ditching Sano?
  6. Lance Lynn had a FIP of 4.82 last year. I'd have rather had Mejia and the draft pick than Lynn. And that's not hindsight.
  7. I agree, I thought he'd get a chance to start the season. But, it was the previous regime that traded for him, so I doubt that investment would have much impact on this regime's plans for him.
  8. Yeah they didn't send Sano there to pack the box scores. Until they have time to implement the adjustments and conditioning that they have planned, the box score results are meaningless.
  9. Odorizzi is the same pitcher, his luck through the first 11 starts was never going to last. Some attempted to point that out weeks ago. He's still got a couple more rough ones before his ERA and FIP balance out. He's a fringe #5, that's why he was available for Jermaine Palacios.
  10. Gibson only has 1 more year of team control remaining.
  11. But most people aren't evaluating him based on solely this year.
  12. Spotrac has it worded incorrectly, I believe. The cost of the option goes up at those benchmarks, but doesn't become guaranteed until 600 PA's.
  13. Not in a winnable game when they still think they are a playoff competitor. In that case you play to win, not for development.
  14. Duke has a career .699 OPS against vs. lefties, .808 vs. righties.
  15. It seems to me that Rooker is struggling mightily again, from the last few milb reports. EDIT: Just tallied them up. 3-25, 7K, 1 BB since his 4 walk game last week.
  16. Well it's currently 21st in baseball, by ERA. Certainly a lot of room for improvement there, IMO.
  17. The rule is a 20% increase now? I could have swore it was 30%. If it drops anymore, guys will be getting their senior discount before they get back to full strength from TJ. His body will tell you when he's had enough, not some arbitrary number.
  18. Fangraphs probably likes his chances of sticking at catcher much better than mlb.com. That would explain the delta, IMO.
  19. Suspended players can still participate with no restrictions in Spring Training.
  20. Based off a one game sample size Rooker has solved his questionable walk rate?
  21. Draft picks slot in based on tools. Larnach will be ahead of Rooker, at every single publication, IMO. By your logic, Lewis and Kirilloff should drop below Rooker too.
