  1. Sorry, I was adding to your response to the poster who was saying that.
  2. Well I don't believe the Twins will give Dozier and Sano 2 days each per week at DH. Sano needs reps at 3rd. The Twins are going nowhere in 2017. He will play there everyday, yes even if he's terrible. If he doesn't improve, then you have to find a new spot for him in 2018, but if healthy he'll play every day at 3B in 2017.
  3. It's also silly to suggest that an extra 23 million couldn't be better spent. The Twins had no choice but to give him that contract, and Joe isn't in a million years obligated or expected to turn it down. But, saying the cheap Pohlads wouldn't spend it anyways is also annoying.
  4. Good. They shouldn't change the strike zone based on the score.
  5. I'm guessing the Twins would rather have the cash than the type of non prospect Light would return. Pittsburgh may or may not have felt someone would claim Light, but the Twins probably just said, "first team to offer 50k, he's yours."
  6. Like it or not, Sano is going to play 3B every day this year. So you are going to put Polanco at DH 120 times?
  7. The ambiguity around his injury (non football related head injury/illness), and the early release, I'd assume at this point, without more info, they don't expect him to play again.
  8. Well you aren't going to bench Sano or Dozier very often if they are healthy. So, barring injury, how many starts is Polanco going to get in this scenario?
  9. If the vets don't leave a lasting impression on the kids after they are gone, then the purpose of signing them is...? The FO thinks we can compete, and are just a couple of minor vets away?
  10. Because high school kids will have 5 or 6 years in the minors to learn how to catch up to a fastball. Guys coming over from Korea in their prime have to be able to adjust on the fly right away.
  11. The fact that Dozier wasn't willing to give up any FA years in his last extension makes me believe he wants to hit free agency, and likely wouldn't have any interest in signing an extension.
  12. Just finished this. Agree, the nostalgia was awesome. Also agree that the girl playing Eleven could become a big star someday. The final episode was unexpectedly sad and heartbreaking. Both El sacrificing herself, and the sherrifs flashbacks with his daughter. Although, finding out that El isn't actually dead puts some of that toothpaste back into the bottle. I hope season 2 doesn't lose any luster.
  13. Levine out for the season.
  14. In no world are the Falcons beating new England by 17 points. I'm really struggling to understand what you're thinking there Seth.
  15. I think ABW is in the Orioles milb system, not the brewers.
  16. 5.6 WAR versus 0.7. I'd call that extremely vast.
  17. But when you are the worst team in baseball you need to have better than average coming up the pipeline.
  18. If you were thinking of me, I said it on the same context as Mike. I was happy to see Ryan fired and have patience with the new guys. I just get frustrated when people insist that the pieces are in place, and we only need internal improvement to compete. It was rhetorical- why fire the GM if you think he assembled the right players and they just need more time to improve?
  19. The Twins could have traded him. He should have some value if he'd get the same or more salary on the open market.
  20. I misunderstood your post when I responded why fire Ryan. I read it to mean that long term improvement was going to have to come from the players we already have. I didn't realize you were only referring to this season. I still think there were moves to be made for 2018 and beyond that were not made, namely trading Dozier and possibly Santana, as well as going upside instead of safe in the Rule 5. But, if using the first year as an evaluation year is part of a plan then I'll be patient and see how it works out down the road.
  21. But it's looking like Santiago will get his starts at the expense of Berrios, not Gibson. I don't care if they pocket the money if that means Berrios is pitching here.
  22. I highly doubt that both Vargas and Park make the opening day roster even without any additions, so signing another DH almost certainly means they both go to AAA.
