  1. That might all turn out to be true, but for now he's not horrible against lefties. What do his milb splits look like?
  2. The funny part is he inadvertently makes part of the case for why Marijuana should be legal. He says you can't sue your drug dealer so you have to resort to violence. His solution to that is to keep it illegal, rather than solve the violence part of the equation by eliminating the illegal dealer? This guy is an utter moron.
  3. Yep. The biggest difference between Yeo and Boots is everyone earns their playing time and lines now. It's a big motivator when the vets know they have to produce to keep playing top line minutes, and the young guys know they can earn more time and power play opportunities.
  4. Rosario's career splits are nearly identical. .264/.286/.452 vs. RH .279/.308/.416 vs. LH
  5. Lynch blocked 11 shots with 0 personal fouls. Very impressive.
  6. I don't think it's wrong to wish players were more aware and appreciative of the fact that their fortune is thanks to the fans. Playing a sport produces nothing of any actual value. They are only valuable because fans watch. Without fans, they'd be a bunch of working stiffs playing baseball in their spare time for free. The owners, on the other hand, would be wealthy with or without the fans, as nobody makes their fortune off owning a sports team anymore. They might be slightly less wealthy, but unlike most of the players, they'd still be wealthy. That isn't to say that players owe us anything. Just that it irritates me when they are jerks to the fans and/or the media.
  7. If he was "easily a number 1", he'd be the concensus #1 prospect in all of baseball. Unless you meant that is his ceiling, of which most would agree. Very few prospects ever reach their ceiling though.
  8. And this is the guy that many posters claim has forgotten more about baseball than any of us will ever know?
  9. I don't believe I ever said that 17 in AAA was a large sample size.
  10. Of course Pommenville won't be taken, that's not my point. This is a business, not a hobby for these guys. It's not Pommenville's job to make the roster stronger. The Wild want something from him, he will want something in return. That is business.
  11. 14 starts is still an extremely small sample size, IMO. I don't think any less of Berrios than I did before he debuted.
  12. Well I doubt Pommenville is going to just waive his NTC out of the kindness of his heart. This is a business, we'd likely have to tack on a couple more guaranteed years. No thanks.
  13. From the title is figured this would explain why they botched his extra option year. Has anyone ever asked that question?
  14. You can call it anything you want. But if you give them money to play baseball then they are professionals. So high schoolers and college juniors wouldn't be able to play.
  15. I'm hoping you are right that Molitor understands this. But if he doesn't, there won't be much the FO can do. At least not this year. Falvey isn't allowed to fire Molitor.
  16. Right, I'm not suggesting they promote based on that. Just saying it's OK to be disappointed that he hasn't sniffed mlb yet, unlike a more raw draft pick.
  17. I get what you are saying Seth, and some prospects require more patience than others. But, when one of the specific reasons for drafting a guy at a certain point in the draft is because they are close to mlb ready then it does matter, at least a little bit.
  18. I think enough of Mejia that I'd have him start the season in the MLB rotation. And yes, I know that won't happen and that not many will agree.
  19. I think your research says it all. He's Pat Dean, but without the control. If he wasn't a high draft pick, he'd be looked at as organizational depth. As to "be patient, he's 21", every milb player who never made it was once 21. I was once 21, and I never pitched in the majors either. Simply being young alone means next to nothing.
  20. Number is right on. I'd pass. I predicted 71 in another thread, which is technically over, but too close to put money on.
  21. Yes, I understand what you are saying. I'm simply pointing out what I think the organization is going to do, not what is right or wrong. They aren't benching Sano or Dozier just so they can be a little better defensively. That's just not happening. If Polanco can't win the SS spot, then he just won't play much. He's not playing at the expense of Sano or Dozier.
  22. But if you are getting him at bats at the expense Dozier or Sano then you are not improving your lineup on those days. I'm not saying Polanco at SS is ideal, but they saw this coming from a mile away and still chose not to trade Dozier. That makes me think they think he can at least be passable at SS, even if you disagree with them. I doubt the plan is keep Dozier so that Polanco can steal at bats from better hitters.
  23. I also agree that Gibson "should" not be a lock. But I think in the eyes of the organization, he absolutely is a lock.
  24. You want to give Dozier and Sano a day off every week? There are 26 weeks in the season. Limiting those two players to 136 games max, even if healthy would be silly.
  25. I said if healthy. And when I say every day, I don't mean 162 games. He'll play 150 games at 3B if he's healthy- which of course is a big if.
