  1. Everything is relative but saying they're not good pro ball players is a bit ridiculous. Those two players have about 6 WAR combined over the last couple seasons. Perfectly fine starters and role players on a good team. Are they any better with the bat than Julien or Miranda? Not drastically so, but they're athletes and able to provide value defensively and on the basepaths. This is why they're the best team in the league and the Twins are the Twins.
  2. I just wish we could see Luke Keaschall play in the big leagues. What are they waiting for? Oh....never mind.
  3. David Stearns and Derek Falvey worked together briefly in the Cleveland front office. Too bad the Twins got the ****** one.
  4. I think it's safe to say that I now hate the Minnesota Twins. Let's Go Mets!
  5. Yesterday was the return of the good vibes. Montas out of the rotation. McLean in. LFGM
  6. Seems like a lot of people here just want all these prospects called up to the majors so they can **** on them. Roden, sucks. Kendry, sucks. Abel, sucks. Tait, sucks. Bradley, sucks. 4 months ago we heard the same chorus about Varland, Bader, Jax, etc.
  7. I don't think the Twins are at risk of moving, but I wouldn't put any faith in the legal system to be the reason why. They will remain in Minnesota because it's the best for capital.
  8. You're still living in 2014. This is 2025 and we live in a kleptocracy. Rules are only meant for the poor these days, not the wealthy.
  9. When has a billionaire ever been able to get away with breaking the law. Give me one example!
  10. President Trump is actually extremely mediocre and that's evident if you've ever heard him talk about anything, ever. Congrats to him for being born on 3rd and convincing a bunch of marks that he's the all time career leader in triples. He definitely has a skill. McMahon and he do however propose an interesting wrinkle in the soft rule. 2nd Gen from rich, successful fathers with severe daddy issues turn out to be much more evil than their fathers were. They need to stick it to their father, level up their success, and become literally the worst humans imaginable.
  11. Pohlads just like every other wealthy family 1st Gen is hardworking but evil 2nd Gen is mediocre and arrogant 3rd Gen is entitled, incompetent, and lazy
  12. AJ Preller is a madman and I love him.
  13. Looks like my Twins boycott is lasting another couple years at least. How about those Mets last night?
  14. Nepo baby pohalds ****ed up the sale of their most valuable asset. They can't do anything right.
  15. Henriquez and Moran are evidence in my favor. Both were fine bullpen arms despite never being real prospects. The bullpen in 2027 will be completely fine, and arguably better than 2025.
  16. I think this is over stating how difficult it is to "develop" decent bullpen arms. The fact that they'd added about one a season is more so on the construction of the bullpen previously, with less experimentation needed with the veterans in those roles already. Don't expect this to remain true, but technically this bullpen has performed better than the one with all those guys that were traded away.
  17. Decided to buy a ticket last minute. All said, it's pretty remarkable you can usually go to a MLB game for about the same as, or even cheaper than, a movie.
  18. Yet they WILL boo Altuve, who famously refused to cheat during the Astros scandal. If nothing else, this trade at least helps Twins fans look less ridiculous.
  19. Winning a Wildcard Series is not historic. It is indeed memorable, and the 18 straight playoff losses was historic, but ending it? Cool, but inevitable. Or, the Twins were the only organization dumb enough, after two failed physicals, to still give him $200 Million guaranteed. He CHOSE the Twins is one of the most laughable statements in defense of Correa. He will have been paid about $160 Million and he produced about 11 WAR and led the Twins to only one playoffs in the expanded playoffs era, and the Twins still didn't win a Division Series. Which is all fine, not nearly as bad as some would make it out to be, but it's also not really worthy of any celebration. It was an interesting experiment but the fact of the matter is the Carlos Correa Twins were a failure.
  20. Yes, it is. But I don't expect Brooks Lee to be able to play it and I still think the trade was good. So, I really don't care how he's performed this year. This team was in way worse condition than you seem to think it was, as can be seen by the fact that you were against selling a week before the deadline. A reset was necessary, and getting rid of Carlos Correa and his terrible contract was one of the most important aspects of that reset. Will next year be rough at SS? Perhaps. But the Twins are now in a position where they can give young players proper run, see if Lee can't take a big step, still not 25 years old. And if not, and I'm about as optimistic of that as you are, still seeing if Culpepper can take a step forward. This is a way better condition for the organization than tying themselves to an old player that has been barely above replacement level this season with a contract so prohibitively expensive that there's almost no flexibility in the roster. The Carlos Correa Twins were a massive failure. One season with more than 82 wins, and one wildcard series win. It was time to turn the page.
  21. 3 years after getting two massive contracts ripped up for being a terrible medical risk. Twins giving him that contract was a massive mistake in the first place. But no, everyone that thinks it was a solid baseball decision, they're just wrong? Or maybe you, one of many individuals who's been wrong about the actual talent on the Twins for the last year, might understand that you might just be wrong again? It's very possible the Carlos Correa bounces back and becomes a 5 WAR player at 3B in Houston again. But he just might be a 2 WAR player the rest of his contract and not really a player worth building around. I know which I view as significantly more likely. Feel like you're fighting a straw man here. Brooks Lee's future success, or lack thereof, isn't really a factor on if the Correa exodus turns out to be a good or bad idea. If we were debating who was best suited for SS right now, sure, you win that argument which literally no one is having.
  22. Counter point: No it wasn't. It was a very solid baseball decision to rid yourself of an aging star on a bad contract. Paying a third of the contract and getting nothing in return were the expectations before the trade deadline, and the Twins are lucky that they found a suitor. We get that you liked Carlos Correa, but this is also a player that had multiple contracts negated due to massive health concerns, who is increasingly less athletic, and now in his 30s, and who himself thinks is no longer suited for the SS position. It was a good trade, no matter how big of a disgrace you try to portray it to be.
  23. Glad we don't need to wait years or even consider the whole trade. 30 plate appearances from one of the players involved is good enough to call it obviously.
  24. He also needs to settle down. Not every run is life changing.
  25. Provus and Morneau, worst in the biz.
