  1. I concur, I will check in with articles here and box scores but I won't commit any money or extensive time to the Twins for a while. I appreciate the players giving it their best effort but I want Falvey and the Pohlads gone. The BS letter sent to season ticket holders by Falvey shows he's out of touch and is either a spineless puppet of the Pohlads or truly incompetent. Until the big shake up is with ownership and management, I will be a casual fan and contribute as little financially to them as possible. I have to right size my budget for the Twins to compete with my other interests.
  2. As others have stated, this isn't going to be a quick turn around, by the time the prospects we picked up are ready for mlb, the few mlb caliber players we have will be gone or on the down slope of their career. Too much value is given to prospects as it is. Sure we all want to believe they will be stars but most of them won't work out.
  3. Well that's a bummer. The Ishbias were exciting because they seemed different than most owners. I think they gave us hope of passionate owners who enjoyed the team as more than just a business. The big downside I think of is that if there are other groups / people who are interested, they are keeping everything hush hush. That feels like more of business decision by everyone involved and I don't want more of the Pohlad type. I want an eccentric, outspoken owner who isnt afraid to shake things up and open their wallets for something. I want an owner who says, "I want this team and I want to win!" Sure, anyone who has enough money to buy the Twins isnt going to just throw money away. Hopefully, they'd see that our market is willing to spend our hard earned money on something, if they just do their part and put effort into putting something out there that is worth seeing.
  4. I subscribed to MLB.tv a few years ago and they had most teams spring training games available. That was during the peak Bally's fiasco so I'm assuming they will have them again now that Twin's games are more easily available.
  5. The two things I worry about are exactly what others have said, the new owners may eventually want to move the team and or the new owners are no different than what the Pohlads have given us. The new owners may not even be the Ishbia brothers, but I will gladly take a chance on a new owner to at least change things up. The disconnect between the Pohlads and the fans has created a Twins team that has not generated any excitement since the the playoff run. Non diehard fans haven't thought about the Twins much since.
  6. I have to agree with today's post. I'm assuming the naming of final candidates for him did come from his agent in an attempt to drive up price. For all we know the Twins offer could be a minor league one, his agent is just stirring things up in hopes a team will up their offer.
  7. All I can really say is I feel like Clark Griswold towards the end of Christmas vacation.... hallelujah holy **** wheres the tylenol?
  8. Hopefully this is a grease the wheels sort of deal. Maybe an additional trade with Seattle or maybe a bigger named deal with another team. Something similar to the separate trades for Gray and Mahle.
  9. We will have to see how the trade market shakes out, now that the big names have found homes. Twins have made 2 minor league signings. Alexy is of no interest, but maybe Goodrum will find a spot like Castro did. I'm too impatient but hopefully the Twins can surprise us early in January with a pitcher from Seattle,
  10. As those bumber stickers say, "anyone competent in 2024". I'd be happy with any of the young arms to show they are ready to stay with the Twins and not need more time to grow. Seeing the Tigers and especially the Royals add players is hard to watch as the Twins stand pat, it may be the right choice but it's hard to sit and see
  11. To expand on this, a free agent SP that is worth signing is going to be expensive. So expensive that you are definitely going to overpay. By keeping Kepler and Polanco they at least have some positive trade value that can be used for something. Yes cash is king, but not when you have a Dollar Tree budget shopping in Macys
  12. So slightly off topic, but what are people's feelings about Andrew Chafin. His 2023 numbers weren't great but he was a decent middle innings reliever. I'd put him above Pagan on career record and ability but behind him on the 2023 season. He's a lefty and I'd be fine with him a 1 year 4-5 million deal just to see what he has left
  13. If the Twins can get him at a very low price, sure, but I wouldn't want them to even pay the market value for a left-handed starter. Cortes has had some great innings, but part of his game is the odd and changing timing of his delivery. He doesn't have great actual pitches but just how he throws them.
