    Lots of roster thoughts, but my first one is this. Any Twins roster needs to have an appropriate level of Buxton insurance built-in. They haven’t done this since 2023 with MAT and that worked out pretty well. In 2027 they should have E-Rod and Jenkins to fill that role.

    I do think that he should’ve been called up sooner. Definitely would’ve made an impact, but wouldn’t have been able to save the season by himself. Baseball is not a sport where one guy can make or break the team. 20 or so other guys are slumping at the same time. Mostly the same guys, same time of year, same results. Third year in a row.

    Ownership and the front office bet on the players and lost. Buck and Ryan have been ineffective and injured, Jeffers and Larnach have been bad with bat and glove, Keaschall good bat/bad glove, Morris/Prielipp/Kremer/Gómez/Fundy have stumbled, Culpepper and Jenkins called up too late, Bell has faded, Clemens and Lee are inconsistent. The list goes on. Fun season but hard to see an optimistic path forward for 26. Time to start thinking and making moves for 27 and beyond.

    The season is 162 games long they all need to go look in the mirror. Mostly the same group has faded three seasons in a row now. Different manager, different coaches, different owner, Kinda.

    Phew. When roughly 20 of your 26 man roster is playing like crap, it’s hard to win ball games. Trying to think about when the last time it was fun to watch this team play. Been a while.

    The numbers match the eye test. Gleeman: Andrew Benintendi has the highest career OPS at Target Field by any opponent with at least 150 plate appearances. Benintendi is a career .265 hitter with a .417 slugging percentage overall. He's hit .354 with 14 homers and a .635 slugging percentage in 46 games at Target Field.

    We’ll need all of the pitchers. We’ve used 10 starters (left out Voth and a couple BP games) in 2026. No one left at AAA so we traded for Kremer, signed Marquez, and are stretching Anderson back out. Ryan, Ober, Bradley, Abel, Prielipp, Rojas, Paredes, SWR, Kremer, Zebulon

    Bring up Acton or Anderson on Sept 1 and they can piggyback w/Prielipp. Let him get 2x through the order.
