I keep hearing and reading about the Twins playing against the struggling Royals and Tigers. Well KC just took 3 at Target Field and the Tigers have won 4 of their last 5. Twins are 3-7 in the last 10, they are the team heading in the wrong direction here.
Emma, Jenkins and Roden are hurt, which complicates things. Don’t make moves to win a few extra games in June 2026. They need to be making decisions for the future, ie who is gonna be on the team in 2027 and beyond?
Tigers, look to get right against the even worse, Minnesota Twins. They just won four out of five and took the series against the Mariners. Not much to like about this club right now.
Gleeman:
Byron Buxton (shoulder) remains out of the Twins' lineup, but Derek Shelton indicated that he's very close to returning.
"From the conversation I had with him this morning, he was in a really good spot."
Monday is an off day. Decent chance Buxton is back in the lineup Tuesday.
Shelty will say he did a good job keeping us off balance…blah blah blah
Make some in-game adjustments. Feast or famine offense, hard to watch when they are in famine mode.
Saw this on MLB.com. He hasn’t yet been ruled out for Sunday.
The Twins have an off day Monday before a short trip to Detroit, so it would not be surprising if they took advantage of the opportunity to sit Buxton until Tuesday so as to let him recuperate more fully.
They should be making decisions based on what is best for the future not to try to win a couple games in June. I hope he’s ready, I’ve always loved watching him play when he’s right.
