  1. You sign Sano and he is likely the best (only!) 1B on the roster. To be clear, this is the problem at the position, not the solution... Then again, he might be the best RF if he signed. And DH... (again, the problem not a solution)
  2. I'll start worrying about 40 man roster when they have a nine man roster to fill out the lineup! Zero 1B. No corner outfielders of any value. A bullpen with a "break glass in case of emergency" cover. Get numbers 1-9 set before you get too worked up about numbers 35 through 40.
  3. Worst career BA among MLers with 400 at bats... Sounds like a another genius Failvey move!!!!
  4. Not how I want to see "Falvey" and "executed" structured in a sentence...
  5. The Twins have no corner outfielders. To think you are going to get MLB talent trading any of the "candidates" is just... asinine.
  6. All of them can go to Target with Miranda!
  7. Add in the "funky" delivery and he could be a piece. Hopefully, a piece of the bullpen!
  8. Not even replacement level... Seatle has the "Big Dumper", we've got the the Big Dumpster Fire...
  9. Have a hard time taking this seriously... One (and precisely one!) MLB outfielder hardly qualifies as depth. And that one cannot be counted on as a regular. #FireFailvey.
  10. No, no, no... only one team can hire Fernando Venezuela to teach it!
  11. Yeah, the Twins will shell out $200,000,000 for a years payroll...
  12. And that ignores his unplayable defense...
  13. With about 10% of the talent? Sure.
  14. "....a valuable piece of the Twins lineup." Well, that's enough of this "review". Christ Allmighty!
  15. He was, undoubtedly, the best shortstop in Twins history with his only competition being Zollo (and his spellcheck-defeating last name!). And I take Smalley or Gagne over him. Smalley because I wanted to grow up and be him as a kid (and have that fine duck'sass on my head!). And Gagne because he went out every day, played good (if not great) defense - something Correa never did. Give me "good" seven days a week, not great for a month per season and invisible for a month followed by a DL stint.
  16. A guy who can throw mid-90s all day long, and upper 90s at any time. Supposedly elite offspeed pitches. "Good enough" control to not be behind in the count regularly, and walks few batters. More than enough "tools" listed by me to be a borderline elite starter. But we get a 5+ ERA - not even serviceable, let alone elite. Check the tape. Better yet, let Molitor, Mauer and Morneau check the tape. He is tipping his pitches too much. Let good hitters (the 3 Ms above) find out what his "tip" is. A guy with his stuff and command should be at least a run better than him - even with a Sano/Julien/Miranda head on his shoulders. Unless he's throwing batting practice, i.e. the hitters know what is coming.
  17. The next time I see Wallner make any adjustment, it will be the first! What, no one notices that he is the slowest OF in releasing the ball? Supposedly superior arm strength that grades out as the least usable arm in the majors. Overhauling that would be a snap compared to a ground up rebuild of his batting stance, swing and overall approach at the plate. Yet, we have seen zero change in either. So, don't hold your breath waiting for any change for the better. He obviously has it all figured out - in his "mind".
  18. At least he looks like a baseball player. That, in itself, beats the socks off 90% of our "prospects" in the last decade... Take that for what it's worth!
  19. I saw someone call him an "Interesting" prospect, and I agree. Lots to like (i.e. the "tools", or what we used to call being a "stud"), but about 140 years of pro history telling us that it at six and half feet tall he will have a tough time simply covering the strike zone. The tools make it possible that this offseason he makes all the tools/athleticism click and leaves the Twins no choice but to name him a starter at ____ (name your position). He is that kind of a talent. The history of guys as tall as him makes it quite possible that he will never be more highly thought of as he is today. The expanded strike zone of a tall man is covered by (basically) the exact same bats that your weak-hitting (and short) utility players use...
  20. Very generous on Ober after his most recent season... If his performance in Spring Training mirrors his 2025 season he makes the rotation only because his name is familiar. A borderline 5 ERA is "AAA depth", not a #3 starter. At least on a competently run team....
  21. I'd like to add, I just don't want to see anyone associated with this bunch in any way, shape or form. The Twins are SO fundamentally flawed in ALL facets of the game, that anyone associated with them should be disqualified on that basis alone. An absolute and utter clean break is necessary. Sorry Rowson. Sorry Torii. Sorry to anyone even periphially involved in getting us "here". Need actual clean break. Too bad that ship has already sailed. Waiting for THE Smartest Man in the Room! to announce that Rocco will be interviewed, as Falvey doesn't do mistakes.
