Everyone wanting to fire Rocco and the coaches should consider this. They are doing exactly what the front office wants them to do. The days of the field staff having the freedom to run the team the front office put together are long gone. Decisions on what the hitting, pitching , and fielding philosophy should be are made by people above the field staff. Right or wrong this is the way it is now for most teams. I'm not saying the manager doesn't have a say, but he has to live with the group decisions that are made. If you want the team to emphasize other things Falvey and company have to be fired .

None of us knows how bad his knee is. Its possible his knee wouldn't let him run any farther. It's also possible he was trying to stay healthy enough to keep playing knowing Buxton isn't coming back anytime soon, as this team rarely tell the truth about injuries. Also you don't have any proof that he is thinking about free agency in that moment. He could have stopped for any number of reasons.

Not only does he have no history as pro, There's not much of an amateur record either. Most of his ranking has been based on potential not actual results.

Did that god awful catchers gear gear distract Woods-Richardson enough to affect his command of the strike zone in the first inning.

I don't disagree with you at all. However part of the fun of baseball is its the one sport where if you understand the game at all you can second guess the team management every game. We like to pretend were experts even if we know were not.

I think the Twins are trying to turn AK and Julien into power hitters instead of letting them be high av. hitters with moderate power. They have them so confused trying to make them into something there not. If the Twins give up on them we'll see them become good hitters with another team.

I'm sure Renden would b cheap, and we specialize in players who can't stay on the field. He's already on the 60 day so we wouldn't have to wait for the inevitable injury.

Yankees 8, Twins 5: Walks Will Haunt, Twins Swept
Ricky Vaughn replied to Seth Stohs's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
This is something that should wait until the end of the season. The only way forward for the Twins is to trade away every player except Royce Lewis. Take what ever they can get. If Buxton and Correa want to enforce their no trade clauses DFA them. This includes every minor league player that has been exposed to the major league players. Fire the coaching staff and front office then change the name of the team to the walleyes or some other Minnesota appropriate name. Only half kidding here- 48 replies

Its been a few years now since the minor leagues were downsized. So a smaller pool of players to draw from. Not saying that is the only reason but it may play a role.

Should We Be Worried About Alex Kirilloff?
Ricky Vaughn replied to Cody Pirkl's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
He's going through a slump. He will be fine. -
I remember Soderholm, but I was in the Navy during most of his time with the Twins. I agree with Karbo about Castino. One of my most vivid memories of him was a game I was at in 1980 or 81 I think. The Twins had Rick Dempsy in a rundown and he bowled Castino over but John held onto the ball. As Dempsy walked away he said something and Castino immediately jumped to his feet and decked him with one punch. Of course the benches emptied and chaos ensued.

Varland looks like he's trying to squeeze the baseball down to to a golf ball. Either put him in the pen for a while, or send him down so he can relax and get his act back together

This Massive Prospect is Worth Keeping an Eye On
Ricky Vaughn replied to Matthew Lenz's topic in Twins Minor League Talk
I don't think playing good defense will get a corner outfielder to me. Looks like Gallo without the walks. -
With the bases loaded and two outs in the 2nd inning, Alerick Soluarie lifted a sacrifice fly to score Ben Ross and make it a 2-0 game. Was there a rule change I missed?

I'm sure they will have to wait until this weekend to put him on the IL.
-
Why so negative? I get your feelings for DeSclafani, but I see no reason why Paddock can't go 100 innings. I think Ober will be the #2 pitcher by seasons end.
