  1. Kepler is the one guy who should get a gold glove. Arraez....no.
  2. Great game from SWR. Rosario has been hitting well lately for Fort Myers and also nice to see Raya back after his very short start last time due to illness.
  3. Wow, great night for some of our top hitters in the minor leagues - Wallner, Martin, Lee, Julien, etc.
  4. And the Peacock returns! Must have been a contract thing. Brad Peacock is listed as a roster move, added to the Saints roster today.
  5. Not a reach since it's a fact. He won it for being the Twins minor league pitcher of the year last year.
  6. In a surprising move, Brad Peacock was released. He has a 2.92 ERA with the Saints and was 5 for 5 in save opportunities. Anyone know if this was a contract thing, that he must be called up to the Twins by September 1 or be released?
  7. The problem is that Isola and Williams play more at DH and 1B than catcher. I don't understand why because we need them honing their catching skills. With bigger bases coming to MLB, will they be able to throw anyone out or play adequate defense?
  8. Great night for many of our hitters (Chris Williams, Contreras) and for our starting pitching. Terrible night for almost every reliever throughout the organization including Cruz and Enlow, who had been pitching very well this month.
  9. My Billy Hamilton tracking device shows him on the move, to the St. Paul Saints.
  10. It won't be Maeda, as reported yesterday. Add Ober and get rid of Pagan is another possibility.
  11. Yes, he will only have a chance as the 14th player if Buxton is out for a long time. Hamilton has to be A+ as a defensive CF, base stealer, base runner, and bunter. He would mostly come in late in games, not as a starter. But isn't Helman all of these things and maybe he can actually hit, which Hamilton can't do?
  12. Sisk, Peacock, Moran, Maeda, Ober (what's the latest on these last two?) - give any one of these guys the chance. They can't be any worse than Pagan.
  13. Feels like Wallner is heating up. Probably still wouldn't bring him up as he starts slow at each level. Sisk keeps pitching well and Peacock is good most games. Dobnak - not ready.
  14. He has been pithing well, mostly out of the pen in August. Maybe to keep down his innings for the year coming off of surgery?? The Twins have some interesting decisions for the 40 man this winter with 3 guys who have been on this year's 40 man roster all year and not pitched a single pitch for the Twins - Balazovic (pitched horribly in AAA), Henriquez (started out terrible but has improved lately, the youngest of these three), and Enlow (best performance of the three but the least innings (I think) and vs. AA batters). They would have to be projected as pitching for the Twins by the middle of 2023 and I don't see all three of these guys doing that. And the Twins will certainly add Canterino to the 40 man and he probably won't pitch for the Twins all next year.
  15. Is Wallner stealing 2nd when his teammate steals third? This is about 7 steals for him on the year and he is supposed to be slow. Argh! What can happen next to our top pitchers in the minors. Raya - one batter and out he comes.
  16. Henriquez great, Moran terrible and that is a trend. Martin and Cruz also trending in the right direction this month. Festa continues his fantastic year. Urbina, Cardenas and Ross continue to do well, the first two becoming more than just a trend now. SB - Mikey Perez is interesting. Great SB and has some pop in his bat. The negatives appear to be a low batting average and is he more than a 2B, where we have a ton of prospects? Martin would be on top of the list if he didn't miss a month. Emma Rodriguez would also be on the list if he didn't get injured. The Twins have some very exciting but very young OF's - Mercedes (wow, didn't realize he also stole bases like this!), Rosario, and I'm missing someone else to go along with Rodriguez. If MLB increases the base size, thus decreasing the distance between bases, SB's will be much more important. Most bases stealers who are thrown out in MLB are on close plays. I believe the base size increase will have a bigger impact than most people think.
  17. I find it so hard to get accurate defensive information on our minor leaguers. From just reading comments from TD, it seems he has a great arm. I'm thinking he catches the ball when he gets to it but is slow. Does he get a good jump on balls off the bat? IMO he has to do everything else well to play defensively in RF in the majors if he is slow. Will never be a Kepler defensively but we will still need guys who hit homers to go with our Arraez's. But then we need great defenders somewhere out there.
  18. In Wichita's case, yes. They have won 15 of 19 (15-6 for the month). If you only look a week back, yes, none of our teams have done great. For the month, most are a little below .500 after a bad few games this week. St. Paul - 10-11 for the month. Cedar Rapids - 9-12 for the month. Fort Myers - 9-13 for the month. Combined - 43-41 for the month. Not much to complain about on our pitching tonight though as Varland, Gossett, Ohl and some bullpen guys had a good night.
  19. If Correa liked how the Twins played through July and that would affect his decision at all, I think the way the Twins played in August should have changed those thoughts. The Twins current type of baseball is unwatchable, unlistenable and almost makes me want to watch preseason NFL games. Who would play SS next year? Palacios would get his chance of a lifetime for 2 or 3 months until Lewis was ready. In his case, I think this would be his only chance to ever lockdown a starting SS position in the majors. Most on TD say he is a good fielder though one person says he is a bad fielding SS. The Twins fully expect Correa to opt out. Lewis was the plan but that is delayed. I don't see the Twins signing Correa long term as their drafts the past two years were SS heavy and Lee, Miller or someone from that SS group has to be ready in a few years.
  20. Ugly night on the farm. Shuffield had a great night for Cedar Rapids and Cardenas continues his hot month. At least the Wind Surge are trying to steal bases - 7 attempts though they were caught 3 times. Martin with 3 SB's.
  21. No on Wallner, not this year. Seems to start slow at each level and then improve. If he starts to excel at AAA, we can expect a slow start with the Twins as well. There will certainly be those who will want him sent back down to the minors after a week. The key will be to not move in reverse like Sano did at the end of his time with the Twins.
  22. Just being on the IL has made Jeffers, Garlick and Larnach look SO much better. Jeffers at least gets a hit once in awhile, Garlick can hit lefties and Larnach can mean we don't have to suffer through Jake Cave (though I like how he tries hard).
  23. Great game for Gossett! Isola comes back from injury and continues hitting. If he projects at least average as a catcher, the Twins may have to pray that he isn't taken in the Rule 5 draft. I just don't see the Twins adding him to the 40 man roster.
  24. Anyone know - are they drafting high schoolers who are taking 3-4 years to get through the minors or are they drafting college players who spend very little time in the minors?
