  1. Wow, it has been Cedar Rapids year. One hit and win the game. Move pitchers up, trade pitchers, it doesn't matter. The new guys pitch just as well as the old. I wonder who their pitching coach is.
  2. I think Bundy and Archer have done what the Twins expected and maybe hoped. They have been the most consistent starters to take the ball every 6th day. The Twins have there own internal salary cap and need the 5 inning, 2 times through the batting order starting pitcher to be a cheaper, younger, better, throw 6 innings sometimes pitcher like a healthy Winder and Ober would be. At least, you can't have two starters who consistently throw 4 or 5 innings in a game (and we need Gray, Mahle and Ryan to more consistently go 6 innings).
  3. Steven Cruz has quietly started throwing strikes. The flame thrower seems to be mowing down the opposition every time I see him in the box scores lately for Wichita.
  4. He is not our 3rd best pitcher (we only traded an A level player for him). Duran, Lopez, Jax and Theilbar are all better than Fulmer.
  5. Noticed that as well. Other things from that game - Derek Rodriguez was great but the other 3, all guys talked about at some point as potentially helping out the Twins, Henriquez, Schulfer and Moran, were horid. And that was to get all the Twins top 4 minor league teams to sweep the night. Damn Yankees! Rortvedt batted cleanup for the Yankees but went hitless, dropping his average to .177. Maybe he will never hit well enough to catch in the majors.
  6. "Expect at least one 2022 draft pick to be promoted to Cedar Rapids on Tuesday." Now, there is a tease! Has to be Prielipp, right? Do they even have a spot for Schobel with Lee already there.............unless it's musical chairs with Julien going to AAA and Martin playing OF at AA, with Javier going to AA to play the infield.
  7. My guess is that this was his bullpen throwing day (didn't actually look when he started this week) between starts and they decided to just throw him in for an inning of relief instead. Seems to happen with a few guys in the minors on Sundays, possibly because of the Monday off day and how the rotation falls the next week.
  8. I'm not ready for Julien to be promoted to the majors but I AM ready for him to go to St. Paul. What does he have left to prove in Wichita?
  9. We have an Austin Martin sighting! Rehab assignment for FCL Twins.
  10. Very good night of pitching for our minor league teams led by Varland. Sisk keeps doing real well. If both were on the 40 man, would he actually be ahead of Moran, whose ERA is over 5.00 with St. Paul? The Twins are short on LH starters. Headrick seems to have adjusted well to AA. I'm thinking the Twins have to add him to the 40 man or lose him in the Rule 5 draft. Bentley looking good in relief. Gore, not so much. Nice story on his conversion to pitcher but he may not be around after this year. Prato has been really hitting this month. Festa did well to not allow any runs with 6 base runners in 3 innings. McMahon, wow, he has been dominating in the pen. I don't know anything about him.
  11. Wow, Sabato gets moved up to Wichita. Let's see what you got big guy. Holland goes up with him.
  12. Wow, they must like Varland better this year than Sands last year (unless, in hindsight, they think they should have given Sands this experience last year).
  13. Is Martin ever coming back this year (not that I want us to put him back at SS)?
  14. I am guessing the Twins will be very cautious with his coming off surgery. May not even see him in a game this year - me totally guessing.
  15. The only ones that didn't sign were our 19th and 20th round picks.
  16. I think the Twins also want to keep playing both Miller and Lee at SS full-time rather than them splitting time or one not playing SS at all. Miller is really young and struggling a little with the bat (but almost everyone does in that league). Does this say anything about the Twins belief in Miller? I say probably not, yet.
  17. Noticed that. But the guys that got traded for them are looking good as well.
  18. He's been pitching poorly of late. ERA is up to 4.71. SO/BB ratio still isn't bad though.
  19. At age 30, you look for best opportunity to get another chance in the show. He correctly sees that an injury or two to starters on the Twins gives him a prime chance to be called up again. Cotton, also age 30, goes through the same thing.
  20. Moran is actually on the active roster and pitched on Friday night for the Saints. It will be Archer, Sands and Pagan today. If the game is tied or you have a close lead, you go to others. But I don't think there is any way we see Duran, Jax or Lopez. Still, I wouldn't have let Bundy go out there for the 5th and liked the bullpen usage yesterday to go for the win when you have the chance.
  21. Pagan was warming up. Did we really want him to come in and give up 3 base runners and then Lopez to give up one mistake pitch for a homer? Imagine the comments then. Take the wins when we can get them and be happy.
  22. Urbina, Severino and Helmin continue their one month or so streak of hitting well but Palacios is simply on fire! 2 more homers tonight. What has gotten into him! Nice pitching from the top three levels - Enlow seems to be getting a little streak of good outings going.
