  1. 100% agree. If there's any interest at all, it's Larnach and Wallner. I could maybe see some team having interest in Kepler based on what he's doing since the ASB. Gallo? He's about as close to poison as a player could possibly be. Below zero value, if there is such a thing. They'll have to make some kind of sweetheart deal with Boras to get rid of Gallo.
  2. Baloney. That's GM speak. "High bar"? All smoke-screen. Yeah, I'm sure teams are lining up for our left handed corner outfielders. I've got some ocean front property in Arizona I want to talk to you about too! If Falvey can find a taker for one of two of our stellar OF's...please feel free to make the deal. They have to do something with a couple of those guys. As for Gallo...one way or another, he HAS to go. DFA him or if they can find a team stupid enough to take him, DO IT!
  3. Sure teams are going to lose a game like this once in a while, but the fact remains...that was a game we SHOULD have won. Pablo pitched another very good game, and the pen blew it. Moran was brutal, Pagan was back to his old tricks, and Ortega had no business even being in that situation. Terrible. Just a bad loss...worst one of the season so far.
  4. Kike back to LA. Very glad we didn't make a move to get him.
  5. I don't think there's any doubt that they're in a better position overall with personnel, than last season. It's not a starting lineup with a handful of minor leaguers, especially in the outfield. The pitching alone takes care of a lot of that too. It's significantly better than last year. If a few of the guys could remember how to hit a baseball, it certainly wouldn't hurt. With Polanco and Lewis coming back soon, that will help tremendously. I don't know what the FO has up their sleeves at the deadline, but a good righty bat would help...and maybe another BP arm, but we'll see what happens.
  6. I'd just stick with what we've got, rather than trade for either one of those two guys.
  7. I'd be surprised if the FO did much, if anything coming up to the deadline. Certainly, no major deals. Imo...Falvine are probably thinking that they can pretty much stand pat and not do much, because they expect the team to start to hit better, and maintain their pitching like they have been. They expect to win this division. Maybe not a good way for the FO to go about it, but that's what I believe they'll do.
  8. FANTASTIC win! I thought we were dunzo when Jax gave up the homer. To pull this one out was huge! It would be nice to have some easier wins, but these are character builders. Keep it up!
  9. I don't think that Balt would be looking to trade him, and I also don't think it makes any sense for us to try and get him. The Only position Mountcastle can play is 1B, so that would move AK to the outfield, and we already have a glut of outfielders. Why get him?
  10. I don't know what they could get for any of them, but it's pretty clear they have to try and do something. I don't think that their trade value is worth very much. I'd really like to see Gallo and Kepler gone as well. Signing Gallo was a mistake. Kepler has been much better lately, but it's time to move on from him.
  11. It's very nice to see Buxton have a good night at the plate for a change, but I'd trade that for more consistency from him. He hit 2 homers last night, but will he go on another 0-25 skid now?
  12. Obviously, they're not gonna dump Bux, but Gallo should be DFA'd. Bux should go on the IL.
  13. I'd love to have Walker, but there's no chance the Cards trade him. O'Neill, Donovan, and Carlson are interesting possibilities. The Cards have won 5 in a row and might be on the verge of turning it around. It remains to be seen how much dealing Mozy is willing to do. They still could conceivably have a chance to make a run in the NL central. It bears very close watching for sure.
  14. Not gonna happen...and if by some chance Goldy would be available, and to us, I wouldn't move AK to get him. No way.
  15. If they send Julien down when Polanco is activated, there should be a fan base revolt outside Target Field. Yeah, he's not a gold glover by any stretch, but he can swing a very good stick. He has to stay in the lineup somehow.
  16. I think we can all forget about Goldy or Nolie coming north...it's just not gonna happen. I'd be shocked if StL moves either of them anyway. They do have some good younger players on their roster though, and some good prospects in the minors. I wouldn't mind making a deal for either O'Neill, Gorman, Edman, Donovan, or Carlson. Gorman, Edman, or Donovan would be a real nice gets. Luken Baker at their AAA team is a good 1B prospect. It depends on what they want for their guys, and there will be a lot of teams interested. I follow the Cards relatively closely, because one of my best friends is a huge fan, and I kind of like them too. Great fan base and St Louis is a great baseball city.
  17. Gray has a real bad habit of pitching great for 4-5 innings...then completely losing it for 1 inning. I won't even go into Buxton...we all know what he's not doing. This was a game we should've won.
  18. The decisions that the FO/Rocco make are just baffling. This would've been a good game to stick Wallner in there, but apparently that doesn't fit in with the master plan. As others have said...why did they bring him up if all he's gonna do is ride the pine? They'll probably send him back to StP before he gets any meaningful playing time.
  19. There's a lot to be said for winning ugly...and they said a mouthful this weekend.
  20. They have to find a way to keep Julien's bat in the lineup. Whether it's at 2nd, DH, or even at 1B. The guy can flat out rake. We desperately need guys that can do that. If they ship him back to StP...it'll be a damn shame.
  21. I believe Do-Hyoung Park is reporting the same. Miranda to the IL and it appears likely Wallner is coming up.
