  1. This is pretty sad, but I'd probably prefer having Tommy Milone on the mound in a must win game. He at least seems to have the right mindset for that situation. I thin Kyle Gibson might have the most talent (besides Berrios), but I'm afraid he might have a panic attack on a big stage like that.
  2. That was a good read. I'm just trying to figure out if there is a domain name that I wouldn't be willing to sell for mid six figures.
  3. No, it shows that the Twins were willing to put a mediocre-hitting shortstop in left field, which makes it unlikely that they would rule out a guy who is a superior fielder out there.
  4. I think that might be a bit over the top. Eduardo Escobar started 27 games in the OF this year, where he was twice as bad as Arcia has been. The Twins now having 3 solid left-handed hitting corner OFers to find somewhere to play in the next year or two should make for some interesting competition (and hopefully no more Shane Robinson starts).
  5. I'd also say that Correa has a huge lead, but if Sano keeps performing at this type of level and carries the Twins into the WC...maybe. And I hope he gets to 20 HR because 20 is a nice number.
  6. My favorite book ever is "A Painted House" by John Grisham. I've read it 3 or 4 times. I know it's a really popular book, so what did others who have read it think about it?
  7. I'd rather read about the advanced stats and keep the broadcasts the way they are. Does anyone really want to listen to Dick take two minutes to explain to everyone what BABIP is? By the way, at times I cannot stand guys like Brian Kenny who talk so arrogantly about baseball as if the players are robots and all former players are the ones who don't understand the game.
  8. With the cannon of an arm that Eddie has shown off this year, I think a decent comp could be Gerardo Parra. They put up similar OPS in their minor league career (.820 and .815) with Rosario hitting for more power but lower OBP. They aren't the prototype slugging corner OF, but they do many things well and add well above average defense.
  9. He's looked like a pro since day one, so yes I will predict he will become a superstar player. Sano appears to have the right mindset to go along with his great talent.
  10. Looking back, I'm a bit disappointed in the pick, but at the time of draft I was concerned with the relatively low ceiling that Turner had. He looks like he could be a .270 hitter with a lot of speed, and hopefully Nick Gordon can turn into the same type of player at the higher levels; it's just going to take an extra 2 to 3 years.
  11. It looks like LA and Baltimore are vulnerable, but unfortunately the Yankees look like they're a really strong bet to make it despite their two game losing streak to Cleveland. I think the Twins can at least make it interesting and stay within 2 to 3 games of the second WC spot down the stretch.
  12. A slight upgrade over Duensing then I suppose. AJ Achter is my guess for the player to be optioned.
  13. Hopefully Travis Harrison uses the AFL like Eddie Rosario did last year and gains some momentum going into the offseason because he has been terrible this season.
  14. How about Niko Goodrum?
  15. Is that bad?
  16. Well thank goodness we have Joe Mauer on the team. It'd be pretty embarrassing to get no-hit by the same guy twice in one week.
  17. If that bullpen is average, then I would definitely say that team is a 90 win team.
  18. I always liked his eye at the plate, and I was hoping he could hit at roughly the same rate as some of his minor league stops and be a guy who hits .270 with a good amount of walks. Now it looks like he could hit for some good power numbers too.
  19. The Twins are always stuck at the bottom of the league in HRs...so the rational thing to do is trade away your second best power hitter, right?
  20. I think Buxton will spend most of his career batting leadoff or maybe second. You want to get his speed on as many times as possible. If he develops more power, then maybe you move him down to the 2 or 3 spot.
  21. There has to be something physically hurting him right now, or maybe the hip injury messed up his mechanics. Either way, I really hope they hold onto him because this team needs more guys with HR power, especially from the left side.
  22. I would say Chipper Jones was a bit better over roughly the same time period.
  23. I think he's a no-doubt HOFer. Probably not 1st ballot, but he definitely should get in.
  24. Do you think that Polanco can't play shortstop defensively? I hope that he can be the answer there, so I'd be hesitant to trade him, plus he made MLB.com top 100 list at #91, so the return would have to be really solid to consider trading him.
  25. With the Mets having both Plawecki and Travis d'Arnaud, I'd be fine with targeting either one of those two. I think that Kepler should have quite a bit of value after this year's breakout season, and I think there's still plenty of talent left in the outfield if the Twins were to trade one away.
