  1. Andrew McCutchen: Minor League career: .286/.362/.423 (.785), 22 3B, 43 HR, and 105 SB in 511 games. Byron Buxton: Minor League career: .296/.380/.486 (.866), 36 3B, 27 HR and 92 SB in 263 games. So it looks like Buxton has had the better minor league numbers, especially when it comes to speed- 14 more triples and nearly the same amount of stolen bases in about half the amount of games. Let's just hope Buxton can stay healthy.
  2. Could you imagine what type of numbers Arcia would put up in Camden Yards and the rest of those AL east parks? I would bet 40+ HRs a year would be no problem.
  3. I'm a bit concerned that the guys tied for 4th in HRs only have 9 at this point in the season. That just shows that there isn't much power depth in the system. Is this an area of concern? Or do young guys like Lewin Diaz and Amaurys Minier have the potential to fill that void in the coming years?
  4. Are you really worried about Ryan getting outsmarted by Billy Beane? Let's remember that he gave up Addison Russell for Jeff Samardzija and Jason Hammel just last year. Russell and Josh Donaldson would be making a pretty good left side of the infield right now.
  5. He's a career .215 hitter with a .236 career SLG. He posted a -78 OPS+ in 2012. He is Tsuyoshi Nishioka.
  6. I don't understand the "this isn't a WS team" thing. The Twins have a 4 game lead in the Wild Card standings. Once you get into the playoffs, anything can happen.
  7. I'm glad I stayed up to watch that finish. I thought the fence did what it was supposed to, and I was glad to see that everyone was okay. That was scary seeing the car go from about 190 mph to 0 almost instantly, and that was a cool scene seeing the crew members running out to help. Nice win by Dale Jr. too. What a dominant car.
  8. Maybe him and Oswaldo Arcia need to switch places for a while.
  9. He also could have taken Bogaerts and Dozier instead of Jose Iglesias and Brock Holt. I know Iglesias is a great defensive SS, but the guy only has 1 HR, 7 Doubles, and 14 RBI and scored 19 runs. And do the Tigers really need 4 players to make the team?
  10. Ned Yost's picks are a joke. Kelvin Herrera, Darren O'Day, and Jose Iglesias over Brian Dozier? Really? He could've easily picked Xander Bogaerts instead of Brock Holt and then Dozier instead of Iglesias. Iglesias has 1 HR and 12 RBI and Holt 2 HR and 21 RBI.
  11. .336/.412/.540 (.952) in 257 PA. 3 HR, 32 RBI, 21 Doubles, 8 Triples, 12 SB.
  12. The biggest weakness on this team is probably the bullpen. Why not stick Tommy Milone or Mike Pelfrey there and send Aaron Thompson down?
  13. I think I'd be pretty confident in myself if I could throw 97.
  14. I'd agree with that, but I remember him saying before the season that one of the things he needed to do this year was be more aggressive in the zone and trust his stuff, so I don't know what happened there. The positive side is that you could say the same things about Kyle Gibson and Trevor May in their rookie season too, and they've shown some promise since then.
  15. That's a clown question, bro. Mine is Bryce Harper.
  16. A road course in the Chase makes a lot of sense, and there seems to be a bit of a push for that among fans recently. The Truck races at Eldora have been awesome the first two years. I also grew up going to local dirt tracks in Iowa and Minnesota, so I was really excited to see them there. I also really liked watching the Prelude to the Dream late model races they had there, so I'm hoping they keep doing that as well.
  17. The Twins have always valued outfield defense? Is that why Eduardo Escobar played 26 games in LF this year?
  18. .341/.400/.557 (.957) in 205 PA, with 3 HR, 26 RBI, 17 doubles, 7 triples, 9 stolen bases, and a 19/23 BB/SO ratio. Leads the Southern League in BA, 3rd in doubles, 3rd in SLG (to only Adam Brett Walker and Kyle Schwarber), 2nd in OPS, and 2nd in triples (to Byron Buxton). Not too bad.
  19. I'm also rooting for Truex. He finally got that monkey off of his back after getting that win a couple weeks ago after dominating numerous races. I've always been a fan of the road course races, so I'm looking forward to this weekend at Sonoma. I was a big Marcos Ambrose fan, and I was hoping that he would be coming back to race there, but unfortunately it doesn't look like he is going to be there.
  20. I am also annoyed with Jimmie Johnson running well again this year, but I think the competition in the Chase is going to be really strong this year. I think the best odds in order are Harvick, Keselowski, Johnson, Logano, Truex, and then probably Kurt Busch.
  21. I'd call that passion for the game, and at least he can occasionally hit a baseball.
  22. Bring up Arcia or Sano. Vargas has been terrible.
  23. Infante is now the leading vote-getter among 2B. This is embarrassing, and the worst part is that it could take away Brian Dozier's spot on the team when you factor in Kipnis, Pedroia, and Altuve all having strong seasons too. Hopefully this joke of a starting lineup spells the end of fan voting.
  24. Kepler has continued to have a solid season in Chattanooga. Through 179 PA, his line is .299/.352/.488 (.840). He has 2 HR and 21 RBI to go along with 17 doubles, 4 triples, and 8 stolen bases, with a 14/20 BB/SO ratio. Although Max has never hit more than 10 HR in a season (which he did In 2012 in Elizabethton), I'd be more encouraged to see more than just 2 HR so far on the season for a guy who is a corner OF/1B. On the positive side, his SLG is solid due to his high number of doubles, so hopefully that translates to an uptick in HR in the near future.
