  1. You had me until the Ervin Santana to the bullpen part. He's got a 8.5 K/9 on the year and an ERA at 3.86, and that's with him giving up a career high .342 BABIP.
  2. If this is the weird records in the NL East thread, the Phillies are 20-15. I think that this is almost at the mind boggling level.
  3. My guy, Henry Ellenson, measured in at 6'11.5" with a 7'2" wingspan at the combine. That'll work. I also have a slight feeling that I'm going to look back and wonder why I liked him so much.
  4. And his double play partner is hitting .186 with a .220 BABIP. This has got to turnaround for Jermaine Palacios at some point I hope. He's also just 19 years old, and hopefully he's using these struggles as a learning experience.
  5. I'm not sure why BA had them so much lower. Either way, both teams have pretty good minor league systems right now.
  6. It's called the Torii Hunter Effect, and it is real.
  7. Yeah I didn't agree with their ranking. I'll for sure take Buxton and Berrios over Orlando Arcia and Brett Phillips. I would assume the Twins' depth is at least on par with the Brewers too.
  8. I would like to think it would help the younger guys with having a guy who has been around for a while. Plus, Santana can still give you quality innings.
  9. As long as he's pitching sometime relatively soon, and pitching well as the season moves along, he should be up with the Twins this year. The 40 man issue shouldn't matter if the Twins make some moves to open some spots.
  10. I'm not on board with trading Ervin Santana. I think it's a good idea to have at least one veteran in the rotation.
  11. For the record, BA rated the Brewers system 9th and the Twins 10th.
  12. I hope Nick Burdi is a part of the bullpen this year too.
  13. Yeah it was for a guy with high upside, but probably not a high likelihood of making it. Adam McCreery is 6'8" and throws upper 90's from the left side. I suppose he's a similar type prospect to Cam Booser.
  14. I don't think it works like that...
  15. I think Felix Jorge and probably Lewis Thorpe will need to be added, along with Daniel Palka. I'm not a big fan of Engelb Vielma, but he would be considered too.
  16. And yet the Twins have had a top 3 minor league system for years now, with most of those guys already in the majors, or close to it. I'm assuming it's going to pay off soon. Turnarounds in baseball can happen year to year.
  17. The several years away comments don't really make a lot of sense to me. Next year's team should have Sano at 3rd and maybe Max Kepler playing in a corner OF spot, with a full year from Buxton and Berrios. I might be being too optimistic, but reading comments that say that a team is still years away always annoys me.
  18. Travis Harrison is going to have to put up better power numbers to have a chance to make it as a below average fielding corner outfielder.
  19. Most left fielders would have had a tough time catching that ball.
  20. I'm not really sold on Dunn, as I might take Jamal Murray over him instead. I also really like Henry Ellenson. I have no interest at all in trading Rubio. I suppose that could change if Kris Dunn had a great rookie season or something, but I think Rubio is too important, and to hand the PG spot to a second year player on what will be a contending team doesn't seem like a good idea.
  21. This doesn't really seem like a huge deal, or is it? On a more positive note, the Gophers should be pretty good this year. A possible NCAA tournament team I think.
  22. I'm not a huge fan of continuing with the transitioning of relievers into starters, especially with the 15th pick.
  23. How is automatically giving May the 8th inning any better than automatically giving him the 9th inning?
  24. Plouffe had a nice couple games, Dozier had a nice couple games, and Nunez was hitting .370 or something coming into the game today. I want Polanco to play too, but I think it's justifiable to sit him in this situation.
  25. Trrevor Plouffe is obviously the player that needs to be moved. I could see him netting another team's top 20 prospect in return.
