  1. Buxton, Buxton BUXTON!
  2. I think Abad will be good. Boshers - holy crap, would love a Boshers Twins jersey someday. That's why I'd never be a good GM: sucker for a good name.
  3. As long as he keeps moving up and raking, I don't care if the strikeouts stay the same. I am hoping when he repeats a level(hopefully (MLB), then we will see a drop in the Ks.
  4. I still think that when ABW II gets to repeat a level, the pitch recognition will kick in and the Ks will come down to a managable level.
  5. And do you know for a fact that TR didn't reach out to any of these guys? Twins are just one of a large family of 30 siblings. I had a hard enough time getting heard as one of 6.
  6. Well, an injury to Nolasco (pretty sure to happen), a step back by Milone, and May will be on the front line again. We need one of those fireballers in the minors to step up.
  7. I think Rosario wil have a much better career than Hicks. The latter's hit tool vs. rightys will always be suspect
  8. Like the looks of this prospect - Can't teach glove like he has, and the offense looks like it will come.
  9. Ryan is giving Molitor some options. I'm a lot like TR in that I like looking for bargains more than I like paying top dollar. Given the prospects the Twins have, I think this is a pretty good approach. BTW, I think Buxton will shock a lot of folks next season, i.e. all the hand-wringing over trading Hicks will seem laughable. Bold prediction, or is my crystal ball better than yours? We shall see.
  10. Really, I'd pay money for a book of actual scouting reports of players that made it, especially if they were Twins. We all know how pundits hit and miss, but pro scouts? Just amazing stuff.
  11. That sir is outstanding stuff. Mientkiewicz can't field, riiiight. Jim Thome as a shortstop. Fascinating.
  12. Jimmer, it's ironic because the Twins had the golden touch for a while there: Mauer, Pierczinski, Damien Miller, plus they also drafted but failed to sign Hinch and Varitek, and they gave away Ramos. Somebody in the organization had a good sniffer for catchers.
  13. I disagree with the headline 100%. How can we say until these guys have actually played for their respective teams, and for a few years at that? Shoulda woulda coulda isn't how it works. There are 30 teams, each with a GM, each with an agenda. Because team A got player B for player C from team D doesn't mean Team E could've swung the same deal for player F. Deals gotta make sense both ways, and sometimes GMs are looking for specific players in return, despite what you think would have made a great deal on paper.
  14. Somehow the term "Lumber Company" makes me thing of Craig Kusick, and Bob Gorinski.
  15. Interesting read. The video bears out what you are saying quite well.
  16. Compared to draft pick bonuses? Much better ROI likely here. Unless you were being ironic there,,,,
  17. David Bromberg - forgot about him. He looked like he coulda been a good pitcher for sure.
  18. Getting through AA was a big step. I'm also bullish on his future, although I don't believe he will skip AAA.
  19. I hope nobody picks Jorge. What are the rules for the AAA and AA rule 5?
  20. I was wondering the same thing as Sane - much easier to stash a guy away on the DL for a good chunk of the season than at the end of the bullpen. Melatokis becomes even more attractive in that light.
  21. How can anyone say with certainty that Buxton won't have a great spring and jump into the CF spot? Just because some pundit or front office suit thinks that doesn't make it so.
  22. I like the trade - I'd much rather the Twins went for a young catcher with potential, which they did, than trade Rosario, Kepler, or Berrios for a proven commodity. Hicks is what he is - 26 ain't exactly young in baseball terms. He's had chance after chance. Sure, he might go full Papi in NY, but I doubt it. We traded two other 1st round CFs that were better imo, Span and Revere, and the jury is still out on those trades. The odds of this being a mistake are there, but I think adding Murphy will help more than losing Hicks will hurt.
  23. I used to be a religious buyer of Baseball America's prospect handbooks (I remember Blackburn as #1, and David McCarty). Whereas I liked being able to see the reports for all the teams, I think the prospect reports at Twins Daily are much better: knowledgeable folks who actually see the players, and have contact with insiders, very intersting reading.
