  1. And he already got a foot in the door with the Steelers as they scooped him up after Miami fired him. That job appears to be down to between him, McCarthy, or one of the two Rams assistant coaches.
  2. He'd be a solid addition as a middle innings reliever, but given how shallow this pen is he may just be the closer. I'd have preferred one of the better (and younger) FA options on the market, but $2M is a nice pricetag.
  3. Flores didn't get a second interview with the Ravens, so it looks like it's just down to the Steelers job. That tidbit about the Raiders wanting Flores must have been false or else he'd have interviewed by now.
  4. Fitzgerald cleared waivers, so mission accomplished for LA.
  5. This looks like a bad trade on paper, but for whatever reason Baez doesn't seem to be considered much of a prospect. We have a bunch of minor league catchers that are on the precipice of even being a prospect, so I guess it's not a loss to move any of those guys. I see Baez hit a lot better at A+ than AA, but he is already 25 this year. After some analysis, he's probably not a major leaguer.
  6. I've got a Steamdeck and have been going through a bunch of classic games using EmuDeck. I have a big backlog of Steam games and classic games to go through, and I like being able to not have to be at my computer to do it. I'm making my way through the Batman Arkham games and have been going through N64 and PS2 games.
  7. Dolphins hire Hafley and Titans hire Saleh... not exactly the most inspiring hires there. They're two of the better DCs but Hafley was a run-of-the-mill head coach at Boston College and Saleh's stint with the Jets was about the same as every other coach's with them since Rex Ryan. Sounds like the Steelers job might be Flores vs McCarthy.
  8. Caleb Williams is resembling Josh Allen with all the ridiculously clutch plays, but then inexplicable turnovers.
  9. This drive has been a showcase of the talent the Bears landed in the 2025 draft - Loveland looks like a top 5 TE going forward, Burden has a bright future as a receiver who is incredibly difficult to tackle, and Monangai at worst is a capable RB2. This is what you can do when you have a GM who can actually draft well!
  10. I was begging for the Vikings to take a Day 3 back... in the 7th round alone Monangai and Croskey-Merritt were absolute steals. Ugh.
  11. Williams has a thing for throwing picks on 4th down...
  12. Methinks we are going to see a Patriots - Seahawks Super Bowl. I originally picked Patriots - Rams but I don't think the Seahawks are getting beat next week.
  13. People are talking about how Darnold winning a playoff game is proving the Vikings wrong... frankly, I think it's worse that we passed on Nix for JJM. Nix was the entire Broncos offense with no run game and his defense not exactly doing a great job. Kinda insane how the Broncos won passing the ball on something like 80% of the downs meanwhile you have the Seahawks running the ball at least 60% of the time. I have been a anti-Nix guy for a while but he is busting the narratives... when he is allowed to air the ball downfield he is good. The ankle break is a huge blow, they can't run the same offense with Stidham and they'll have to run the ball with their RBs this time. Seattle could probably survive a QB injury given how dominant their defense, run game, and even special teams are.
  14. Seahawks are better in all 3 phases of the game than the 49ers, all those injuries have finally added up for San Fran. Really no surprise that their defense can't hold up with almost zero talent left.
  15. I thought Cooks had the catch and that DPI call was bogus... I feel for Bills fans.
  16. Methinks at minimum Caratini is getting half the starts at catcher no matter what else happens. I don't see Jeffers getting a bigger role and Caratini having to play elsewhere, they already have enough fringe DH/1B types on the team and Caratini's value is at catcher.
  17. This regime has been very reluctant to have rookie hitters on the Opening Day roster, I don't expect any will this year either. As for pitchers, at this point a couple have to make the team, I would put Prielipp as the favorite. I would like to see him, Raya, and Klein get some appearances in the pen at AAA to build up their relieving experience. All of them were quite bad at AAA last year, obviously small sample sizes with Prielipp and Klein.
  18. You're comparing apples and oranges because Jeffers' number is an arbitration agreement, not FA money like Caratini (methinks Jeffers would get somewhere around $10M per year?). The past two years, Jeffers has caught 81 and then 80 games with Vazquez or the other lot filling in the other games which nearly comes out to 50%. If Jeffers isn't traded, then I would expect another 50-50 split.
  19. Somebody needs to tell the Pohlads to check their spam folder, Falvey's email might have ended up there.
  20. I don't defend Falvey much, but the mandate to shrink payroll forced his hand to move Correa. Carlos wasn't having a great year but the deal wasn't "so bad" of a value else the Astros wouldn't have taken him. Yup, player development been the big issue compared to the one year deals / DFA claims / and even moves like the Correa one. They desperately need talent to continuously come up because moves like signing Cruz, Donaldson, and Correa are a thing of the past.
  21. Unlike the Raiders, the Giants have quite a bit of talent that can be tapped into - hire the right coordinators and get some better injury luck, and I can see them being competitive. The Raiders roster is so bad, they have maybe 3 above average players on the entire roster (Bowers, Jeanty, Crosby), worst OL in the league and worst defensive personnel outside of Crosby. Conversely the Giants have a core on defense to build around in Burns, Carter, Thibodeax, Lawrence, Okereke, etc.
  22. Gasper was always going to be DFA'd, it was just a matter of when not if. As for Brujan, I guess he might compete with Arcia for the backup SS job? Hard to get excited about him... a 16 for 30 SB rate is brutal!
  23. Well that didn't last long. The Dodgers want Fitzgerald at AAA and off the 40 man roster.
  24. I have to imagine Flores is the favorite to land the Steelers job with Tomlin stepping down. They already like him after coaching there in 2022 and the Rooneys are more likely to not care about the lawsuit compared to other teams.
