  1. Outman's strikeout rate is now 42%... he's simply not a MLB talent and should be DFA'd. If he clears waivers, go ahead and try to fix him at AAA but right now he's a broken hitter. Martin, conversely, has absolutely played his way into the 2026 lineup despite his shortfalls in the field and baserunning blunders. Not sure how the outfield will shake out but I'll take him over Wallner and Larnach.
  2. Small sample size, but Laweryson has been one of the best pitchers in the bullpen since getting called up... I get that he's a non-prospect but why haven't they been giving guys like him a shot over the DFA fodder they're throwing out there? It was the same logic years ago that this team refused to give chances to the likes of Nick Anderson and Ian Hamilton when they had easily scrapple arms at the end of the pen. I dunno about Sands, he's been bad since the trade deadline. He might start 2026 in AAA for other teams, but he's one of the best relievers under contract next year! I am fascinated to see what they concoct for the 2026 bullpen given how few options they have... can't wait to see what AAAA talent they march out next year.
  3. Twins Daily writers jinxing players on the day they release an article is a tradition at this point!
  4. Sands has a 5.31 ERA since the trade deadline... I'm not impressed with him. He's a middle reliever at best. Glad to see Martin hitting and getting on base, but it would have been nice to have him up before August back when the team could have used a hitter. Coming up with a plan to fix/mitigate his defensive inefficiencies should be a major focus over the offseason.
  5. The Cowboys are lucky they have one of the best kickers of all time, that game is headed to overtime. Ridiculous game!
  6. There is something ironic with Gasper hitting a HR off DeSclafani...
  7. What a random time for Clemens to have a ludicrously good game at the plate.
  8. Sands has looked like one of the AAA-level relievers since the trade deadline... very concerning.
  9. Nice, I was hoping to see him got a shot. Why not at this point?
  10. Getting Mendez at the deadline was the best value for what he was traded for, I'm looking forward to see what he can do.
  11. I refuse to believe that France had any impact on the deal. Varland for Rojas straight-up makes absolutely no sense given Varland has 5 years of control, France was a throw-in. We barely saved any money on him so it wasn't salary related.
  12. I think we can write off Outman, I don't see a path to fixing a guy who is striking out 40% of the time. There is still time for the others, especially Abel and Roden with their inexperience, but it's not encouraging. When it comes to the players we traded away, for the most part I think they made the right decisions to trade the players they did (looking at you, Jax and Stewart) but I didn't particularly like the packages they got back for them. With the way the team is looking, I would have preferred more younger prospects than the likes of Outman and Bradley. And it'd feel better if there was any semblance of a plan for the bullpen instead of this disgraceful display of AAA slop in the majors. We know this team even when it had a competitive budget was deathly afraid of paying relievers and they continue to refuse to move any starter prospects to the pen... how the heck are they going to field a pen next year?
  13. Nice to see Morris hit his stride after it seemed like this might be a lost season for him. Not sure where he fits into the overall pitcher but he should be pitching in the majors in some capacity next year.
  14. Kirilloff had to have one of his bones shaved just to try and stop the chronic wrist problems, assumedly he retired because his wrist was going to be a continual problem going forward.
  15. McCusker was on the 40 man roster and they may as well give him a shot before he's DFA'd after the season ends. He and Sabato seem fairly superfluous to me... I'd rather see Fedko than Outman but we know where their investment lies. My guess is we see Fedko in 2026, I dunno on Sabato. I just don't believe in him. Agreed, it seemed quite aggressive to start him at AAA. Maybe they start him back in AA to begin 2026 and make him earn the promotion to AAA.
  16. Reading these reports is much more enjoyable reading than the major league summaries, and that's regarding the subject quality, not the writing quality.
  17. Yeah... I was listening to one of his ABs on the radio and it just sounded hopeless. They talked about having the rest of the season and offseason to fix him, but what is there to fix? Guys who strike out 40% of the time aren't just miraculously fixed. They should have taken a lottery ticket over a broken player who is a lock to be a sub-replacement level player next season.
  18. Lot of fun finishes in the noon slate. Steelers-Jets being a boatrace was not something I saw coming. Bucs-Falcons was drama thanks to neither kicker being able to hit anything.
  19. Once upon a time this regime did that with Royce Lewis and Blayne Enlow. At the time people claimed they went cheap on Lewis to save money and not to use it elsewhere, but then they went overslot for Enlow.
  20. Pablo Lopez has been activated off the 60 day IL list, with Noah Davis DFA'd and already (and unsurprisingly) cleared waviers and outrighted to AAA.
  21. Yup, there's a reason why they say "there's no such thing as a pitching prospect". It's for the better that they ended up trading their top three highest drafted pitchers in 2021 (Petty, Hajjar, Povich).
  22. Yikes, not good for Rojas. 7 runs to 1 out... At this point I'd rather see Laweryson in the major league pen compared to the bodies they're throwing out there. They have nothing to lose at this point.
  23. I saw Noah Davis pitch in AAA a couple weeks ago... he has no idea where the ball is going when he throws it. I don't get what the fascination with him is.
  24. Just checking in... this Padres series has been Jekyll and Hyde, for both teams!
  25. The hype was stupid to begin with, he didn't look that good last year in two starts and is essentially an unknown at this point, I can't find it surprising that he struggled against a great defense. People need to slow the Heisman and 2026 #1 overall pick hype down.
