  1. There was one at a Twins game this season that went in slow motion, or it seemed like it. It was painful to listen to, unfortunately.
  2. Or heading off to their conveniently scheduled night class, like I am.
  3. Normally I would laugh off this type of "conspiracy" stuff, but I actually believe the MLB/media really wants the Yankees to win this one. They want a Yankees/Indians series. The odds for the Yankees winning the World Series are 8/1, same as the Nationals and Red Sox (Twins' odds are 18/1).
  4. I guess because we have a 3 run lead? I woulda given him the day off after yesterday, but that never seems to phase Molly.
  5. We have 3 games against a AAA team and the rest of the motley crew in the playoff race aren't even .500. I'm not the least bit concerned about them. We should be shaking in our boots at the thought of having a playoff series against Cleveland.
  6. You're not gonna win games with 1 for 14 RISP.
  7. Rosario is now just a triple short of the cycle!
  8. Just read an interesting tidbit: It'd be a shame if Colon's final outing of his career ended with him puking on the mound.
  9. Wait, since when did Kipnis play CF?
  10. Yes, agreed. He's been a great long reliever, which is something this team desperately needs. 1500 ESPN's Derek Wetmore made a 25 man roster playoff prediction and included Duffey over Gee. I really don't want that to happen.
  11. Boshers vs a righty? Oh boy, here we go.
  12. I just looked at Colon's pitches on MLB gameday. He's topping out at 87 MPH, normally he tops out at 90-91. Might be hurt.
  13. So, who wanted Colon to start a playoff game against the Indians again? Anyone still think that's a good idea?
  14. If we needed a 4th starter, I would start Mejia and around the 4th inning I would get Gee in and have him face the whole lineup once. Colon is out of gas and he's been horrible as of late, I would only utilize him as a reliever for an inning or two.
  15. I just can't see any way the Twins blow this. They have 5 more games against a AAA team... also known as the Detroit Tigers. Even if the Twins finish the season 4-4, the Rangers/Angels would need to go 8-1 in their final 9 games to make the playoffs. Also the Angels are down 5-0 to the Astros at this very moment, so the playoff spot is at hand.
  16. They stated before the game Mejia was on a 70-80 pitch limit. They pulled him at 79 pitches. Can't blame him for that.
  17. You gotta give credit to the Twins, they always bounce back after hard losses. But there's an ocean of difference between the Yankees and Tigers...
  18. It's great to see Kepler with the big hit. His bat hasn't caught fire like the rest of the club's through August-Sept, maybe it can be his time to shine the following couple weeks.
  19. Polanco may not have a great OPS or hit for a ton of power, but he's been a great clutch hitter the past few weeks. He's done a fine (though not great) job of holding the #3 spot, which is not something I ever expected after seeing him torpedo through July. Plus he's hitting .332+ and .945+ OPS since August 1st.
  20. It is, but Gibson has been good lately, except for his last outing. And also the fact that the offense scores 10+ runs his past 4 or so parts.
  21. I don't think them pulling Mejia was a bad idea (they weren't going to go over his pitch count), but it stinks to see him yanked after doing so well. He's pretty clearly our 4th best starter right now (behind Gibson and ahead of Colon).
  22. Oh yes, bringing in Graham (the rule 5 rookie) to face A-Rod with the bases loaded and a small lead. That was a great idea. How could you not see a grand slam coming?! That one was the epitome of Molitor's terrible bullpen decisions.
  23. Duffey in a one run game? That's a gutsy move by Molly, I have a feeling it will work. But we'll see...
  24. Hildy is coming out a few betters too late. Yanks made the right move getting Robertson in to finish the 6th, Molly yet again hangs with a pitcher too long and gets burned.
  25. Oh boy, here we go. If we give away the lead here, I'm not sure we'll be able to beat that bullpen of theirs.
