  1. Twins seem to be better at getting in runs as of late. Let's hope they can keep this up.
  2. It's good to see the Twins aren't letting Shields get a free pass this time around.
  3. It's great to see the offense back to life. Now we might get to see Curtiss in the 9th!
  4. It took him a while, but Smoak looks like a great hitter. Now just a triple away from the cycle.
  5. Colon had a terrible strand rate with the Braves, now with the Twins, his strand rate [while not looking at the stats] seems to be fantastic. I have to give Falvey and co. credit, they made a shrewd signing. I'm still not convinced Colon is all that good (too many hits and HRs) but they gotta keep going with him through the end of the season.
  6. -Colon really likes giving up solo HRs, doesn't he? -Good to see Garver with the XBH and immediately have Kepler hit him in. -Polanco needs to be playing 2B -Rosario with yet another throw off-target. Ugh.
  7. He had thrownabout 40 pitches 4 days ago, so he was probably on a pitch count. He went about as long as I thought he would.
  8. Starting Gee was a very good idea [especially compared to Melville]... maybe he can stick around in that #5 starter position for a little while longer?
  9. According to Dick and Bert he was scratched from the lineup 15 minutes before game 2 started. Not sure why.
  10. Nice job Buxton!! Now if only Escobar wouldn't have tried to make that single a double, it'd be 9-0.
  11. I sure hope Slegers will be back. He's on track to start tomorrow in AAA (he would be pitching on short rest if he started today). Just swap Melville for Slegers and problem fixed.
  12. Busenitz has looked really sharp so far. The more he throws, the more he looks like a keeper.
  13. I was referring to the part where they stopped the game to flatten the mound at the request of the White Sox.
  14. We've had some odd delays this year, and here's another one.
  15. Sac flies aren't going to win this game.
  16. Going from a guy with 13.50 ERA to a guy with 15.30 ERA isn't super encouraging.
  17. Are we sure Gameday's "curveballs" aren't fastballs? They haven't recorded a single fastball from Melville.
  18. Great game. It looked like another potential clunker down 3-0 in the 2nd, but everything turned around. Ervin did a great job to salvage the start and the offense just kept chugging along. I think Buxton is legitimately breaking out now. Our patience is finally going to be rewarded. Polanco has regained his mojo too, and Rosario continues to hit out of his mind. Good stuff!
  19. Same on the Twins cast, they have him at 96.
  20. It's good to see Santana rebounding after a poor first two innings. Looks like he can get through at least 6 innings so far.
  21. Santana and Berrios are failing us when we need them most... we need some good starts from these guys.
  22. I'm know I'm changing the subject here, but I just saw Kohl Stewart got promoted to AAA. His stats at AA look pretty bad, so has he been pitching better as of late? 5.1 BB/9 is not what you want to see of a guy at AA...
  23. Busenitz's second pitch to Zimmer was a 100% strike to me. MLB.com shows it was an obvious strike as well.
  24. Colon is pretty darn lucky Cleveland has only scored 3 runs so far. This defense is a huge factor in this team's surprising success this season. It's great to see Sano having a solid year defensively.
  25. My plan would be to add a closer in free agency/trade with a potentially large contract and fill in the rest of the pen with what we have. With Pressly, Hildy, Rogers, Duffey, Busenitz, Boshers and the others, I think we'll have a pretty good bullpen.
