    Take any group of 5 starters and at least 1 or two will have a strong preference for catcher. One thing I noticed is Castro is 6' 3 and Murphy is 5' 11. I always liked throwing to a bigger backstop in high school personally, although it could have been (probably was) all in my head.

    I suspect we will see Castro paired with May, Berrios and the kids more often and Murphy or whoever is the backup catching a lot of Santana and Santiago, with platooning a secondary concern.

    I thought so too. But I didn't get the impression that he was shifting blame to "you guys" for not setting up the meeting as Dave said.

    If Trump doesn't want to meet with Cummings or the CBC why would he say in front of the cameras to someone whose job has nothing to do with these things, that he wants to arrange a meeting? The whole thing is bizarre, I'm not convinced the truth is as simple as what Cummings says.

    Interesting. Well maybe Trump just snubbed him. I say "maybe" only because Cummings could be playing politics too.

    Just finished "Homicide" by David Simon (of The Wire). One year if reporting form a journalist embedded in the Baltimore Homicide unit during 1988. I really enjoyed it.

    I didn't meant to imply otherwise. I thought it was interesting how Trump described why his meeting with Sen. Cummings fell through. He said Schumer, the D cacus leader, put a stop to it. Going public like this could be construed as a political maneuver to build inroads with members of the Senate D caucus- black ones in this case. But yes, his delivery was completely tactless and ignorant so now that's the story instead.

    Without a doubt. The exchange was all kinds of cringe ("do you know them?") but at the end of the day, she is has the guy on camera asking her to setup a meeting for this group that she is asking about. She also said she'd welcome the opportunity to cover the meeting, but setting it up- that's a bridge too far! Just felt like an opportunity might have been missed there. Also I skimmed the letter and I didn't find anything about asking to setup a meeting.

    Trump is a rambling bafoon but to Ryan's question he gave a pretty good answer I thought. I mean, "would you setup a meeting?" What more could you ask for? Now she is saying "not my job." OK, maybe it isn't but do you want there to be a meeting or not?

    Yeah now that I think about it the tax bill would probably offset any discount. I'm not planning on selling any other stocks for losses to offset the gain. I'll just squeeze my arse and keep holding.

    Well after a really nice run TSLA seems to have hit resistance at $285. Earnings next week, have to think the market is pricing in a solid beat at this point. Can't help but feel like if I sold now, took the short term gains, I could get back in at a 10-15% discount in a couple weeks.

    At the expense of MLB spring training, which, how much difference is there really between ST and WBC practice / games?

    The Twins "coaching" by committee did a number on Berrios last year. Maybe some good will come from his time in the WBC.

    FWIW Ricky Bones will be pitching coach of team PR, whose day job is bullpen coach for the Mets.

    Seems like the right move, maybe for the wrong reasons though. Pressly is definitely the better reliever, and probably Rogers too so I'm happy they'll not be held back for "save" situations.

    Seems a little cookie cutter. Everybody throws a fastball, but not everybody is Brandon Kintzler.

    I think (hope) Santiago is going to surprise a few people. He has decent stuff.
