  1. I want to bring Maeda back but he isn’t going to get the QO. He would probably get about $12 million a year for two years.
  2. There is a reason to doubt every prospect. They are all suspects until they are not.
  3. Has to be Gray or Lopez. Castro has been great in his role. If I was giving it to a position player it would be Jeffers. I can’t believe I am saying this because the guy drove me nuts last year. His improvement this year is nothing short of remarkable.
  4. I think the biggest factor was Joe had been swinging like that since he was 5. Not that easy to change after all those years especially because it served him very well until analytics exposed his patterns
  5. Here. That’s why I posted the question-just don’t seem to get much clear info on what his best position might be.
  6. I’m definitely happy with Royce as he has the skills and charisma to be a generational player. There is a lot to like about Hunter Greene. He is way more than velo. Nice breaking ball and ok change with pretty solid mechanics. Plus he’s a big strong dude. Both teams will be happy to have each player for a long time.
  7. Wallner takes his helmet off more than any player I’ve seen.
  8. I believe the Twins lead the universe in taking called strike 3.
  9. I think part of this depends on Martin. I’ve heard all kinds of mixed reports about his fielding. Some saying he isn’t good in the infield but good already in the outfield and vice versa. I’m a big fan of getting players in their best defensive position.
  10. I think it is still an open question or at least it should be. All three have been effective at times and not effective during some stretches. Last night’s game didn’t help this decision. And Keuchel isn’t even going to make the first round playoff roster.
  11. The Sox are kind of screwed. Aging roster that isn’t cheap and some decisions to make (which they haven’t been good at). Tim Anderson is a free agent but is 31 and not reliable. Sox almost have to sign him given the fee agent class next year. Does make you feel good about the state of the Twins.
  12. If Buck isn’t healthy then I put Royce there right away. The kid is such an athlete he would do amazing things. I also would bring MAT for one year. I’m hopeful on Martin but you can’t just plug him in there based on a good half season of AAA. And god no on Celestino. I would see if I could use him in a trade package. Short of that I would dfa him. Would rather have the 40 man spot.
  13. I would make sure he has a complete rest day every other day. The bat is coming around but he has had a couple plays in the field that looked really lifeless. Kepler too - I think he could use a rest.
  14. After Duran he is really the most reliable reliever they have. Hard to believe he is still arb eligible.
  15. And with shifting 3rd is a more athletic position than it used to be. Often they are lined up in the hole and have to cover lots of ground. I’m not happy to predict this but I think he is the Twins cf maybe as early as next year.
  16. Well my tune is that I like Royce a lot. I’m just not ready to say he’s Kirby. We can discuss this again in ten years 😀
  17. A little early to be comparing him to Kirby but he does have charisma. FO deserves some credit here as many said taking Royce first was a reach. I just hope that he can eventually play a premium position like short or center and really utilize his athletic ability.
  18. I know Varland wants to be a starter and I don’t blame him but…….wouldn’t it be nice to bring a guy out of the bullpen that throw the hell out of the ball for 3 innings?
  19. Yea I wasn’t implying they are similar ball players rather I would trade Julien for similar reasons. Both players have a thing or things they do extremely well but also have serious weaknesses. I feel like Arreazs trade value was higher than his real value. I think the case might be the same for Julien. Of course I have no idea what other GMs would be willing to give up for Julien so we will never know.
  20. Good grief Royce. I love his attitude about bases loaded situations. It’s the pitcher that should be nervous.
  21. Loved the trade at the time and would do it again in a heartbeat. That we got two prospects thrown in really helps. I enjoyed watching Arreaz sprinkling hits all over the field. But that’s it - can’t hit for power can’t run and below average in the field. For similar reasons I would trade high on Julien.
  22. The build a bullpen from cast offs strategy sounds familiar.
  23. Thank you for the info. With the infielders we have I was kind of hoping he could transition to the outfield.
