  1. "These guys need to buck the trend and turn some young arms into actual difference-makers in the MLB." You could turn "young arms" into "some young players, heck, ANY players" and you would describe why this team is where it is.
  2. Hope springs eternal. How refreshing would it be for a top prospect actually develop into a good mlb player??
  3. I just want the guys with the best chance to get people out. If a guy like Rogers has a better chance of getting a righty out than "Waiver-Wire-Claim" righthander has of getting a lefty out....
  4. As long as "89-91" becomes "91-93", we're good
  5. Wonder if he won't end up on the 60-day IL to clear a roster spot early in the season. Then he can be slowly ramped up and would be ready to pitch at AAA by June 1.
  6. "you’d rather see some early contact." Some contact....any contact. So Wallner is in mid-season form...
  7. I've always felt they hesitated to run Lewis b/c of his history of soft tissue injuries. Maybe with Falvey and Baldelli gone that changes? I'd LOVE to see some of those young guys getting opportunities in the second half of the season. This whole season is going to be about finding what they have anyway, so why not?
  8. The "vast arsenal" screams starting pitcher. Wonder if they will try to streamline that arsenal a bit to try and get to 3-4 plus pitches. If that doesn't work he could maybe got the Jax route - fastball, change, hard slider and move to the pen in 2027.
  9. I appreciate Shelty wanting to be more aggressive on the bases. HOWEVER, Falvey left behind maybe the slowest, least athletic roster in baseball. So, except for Buxton, Keaschall and Martin, who runs?
  10. I think it's been established that a "fireman" in the 7th or 8th inning is as valuable as a closer in the 9th. I don't think we'll see a true "closer". It's going to be matchups, matchups, matchups all year.
  11. Grumble, grumble...trade him!....grumble, grumble...cheap Pohlads...grumble, grumble...trade everyone....the sky is falling...grumble, grumble.... :)
  12. Time to find out what the young arms can do. Only reason IMO to sign a guy like Giolito is if the plan was to move a Festa-type to the bullpen....then the plan can still play out.
  13. Sink or swim, he's another guy I'm anxious to see get an extended run this season. This club is not winning anything this year. Time to see if there's a future with a bunch of these guys....Abel, Bradley, Festa, Matthews, Lews, Lee, Keaschall, Wallner, etc....
  14. I've said all along that 2026 needs to be about finding exactly what they have with a number of players. Any trade for a starter needs to be for someone with team control for multiple seasons. I'm in favor of seeing what they have in guys like Abel, Bradley, Festa, Matthews along with Ober, SWR, Ryan.
  15. SO tantalizing as a starter. A move to the bullpen just seems like the most responsible move for all parties. He's so talented it feels like the Twins HAVE to get something from him and the 'pen seems like the most sure-fire way to do that.
  16. No matter what Tom Pohlad thinks, this is not a contending team...not even for a WC spot. BUT... I do think 2026 could be very beneficial for the future. One way or another, we are going to have answers on a lot of mid-20s players. Lewis, Lee, Wallner, Larnach, Roden, Abel, Bradley, Matthews, SWR, etc., are going to show where they do (or don't?) stand moving forward.
