  1. hmm......and maybe that he's hitting over .270 and has a K rate below 20%. Twins need more players like this
  2. sorry ..I dont get too excited about any player hitting .241 in the minors......at any level
  3. worth a try ..just dont give up anybody worthy..maybe an A ball player batting .222
  4. dont have any trust in SWR..certainly not Dobnak ..ever again.. Twins bats are gonna have to come alive and start producing more runs..because our 4-5 guys are gonna give up 5+ a game
  5. why ? another 35% + K King ..we already have enough of those.. If he K's at that rate in AAA what do you think he'd do up in the bigs?? it's a shame we cant develop real hitters
  6. why does it seem when other teams bring up AAA for spot starts they breeze thru our lineup ..but our AAA guys usually get pounded??? been like that for years.. I really thought Funderburk would shine...be good to get Coloumbe back ... and agree that Alcala's time here is over
  7. also, cant remember the last time they went thru the order to start the game w/o a K..thats very uncommon
  8. you would get no high quality bat to help for Paddock...he might bring just another average platoon hitter just like the many we already have.
  9. agreed same ol player ..one blast and 3 K's ..against AAA pitching.. what do you think he will do at Major league level against 1,2,3,4 starters???...exactly
  10. this team is full of them...you have to pick one thats at least producing
  11. you strike out 35% of the time ??? and thats an All Star??? nope ...with his defense he'd be a great 8-9 hitter to have on good team ..but not considered one of your high paid reliable star players ...nope
  12. IMO ..has to be a pitcher...don't see 'All star" in any of our position players..but if i had to it would be Ty France.. Sorry Buck ...when you K 35% of the the time ..you should never be considered an All Star.. If i had to pick one ???? hmmmmm.. Joe Ryan ...cuz Duran has been hit hard and quite frankly ..just lucky that hard hit balls have been right at fielders
  13. France is doing just fine.. you get what you pay for. Currently performing as good as any hitter on this weak hitting team..and he's not a walking K machine
  14. classic example of a rookie being Squeezed by the ump..Zebby will be just fine..pitchers aren't going to keep opposition under 5 runs all the time..offense still needs to pick it up
  15. ceiling has always been # 5 pitcher at best.... time to call up Festa or Matthews
  16. Keashall will help FOR SURE (from what we saw on his short time up here)..but, wallner is not a difference maker....220 hitter that will K over 30% of the time. we need more guys that can put the bat on the ball and not be rally killers with the big K
  17. MVP caliber season ?????? he K's 36% of the time..get back to me when that gets below 25%..... Plus, a lot of his K's come at rally time.....1st two guys on .... runner in scoring position......K.....i think its a Twins disease
  18. the guy just cant pull the trigger on pitches right down the heart of the plate...soooo many called strike 3's
  19. i hear Lewis and Castro are coming back soon.... Lewis is hittin under .200 at AAA.. i dont expect any increase in run production from these two at all.. just two more sub .250 hitters
  20. this team just can not hit.. when your so called All Star K's over 35% of the time ..he cant be counted on anywhere in the lineup . personally i'd bat him 9th. Our best pure hitter is probably France. and one thing they do is beat themselves with constantly running on contact with a man on 3rd. this needs to stop. time and time again we see runner cut down at the plate easily when they do this. this is rally killer. go back to basics ..there is no reason to ever send the runner when ball is hit to the left side of infield. also ..start laying down the sac bunt more when we get 1st 2 guys on.. so often our group of K Kings follows up with the K..then DP ends inning
  21. i think we need to forget about Tonkin.. even as bad as our relievers are ..is he any better ??? answer is NO! Alcala, Jax..etc they're all gettn shelled ..even Duran is not a himself and his 100mph fastball doesnt intimidate anyone anymore. certainly not a guarantee when he comes into the 9th w a lead
  22. exactly ..another K King... the type of player Twins seem to develop over and over again.. a little pop in his bat but no plate discipline...can we please fill a roster with .270 average plus guys and K rates around 20% or lower...please
  23. this team has no clue in situational baseball.. so many times ..1st two guys on ..3rd batter takes called strike 3 right down the pike.....rally killer !! Julien has to be sent down ...for good ...just takes way too many pitches right down the heart of the plate..as do others. Reality..this is just not a good hitting baseball...and any down in minors that can help soon ?? i'd say no team..Keashall can ..but other than that ..there's no one lighting it up down there.. bunch of guys that cant even hit .270 in minors arent gonna come up here and help in the bigs. they would just become more .225 hitters that K over 30% of the time. maybe in 3-4 the crop of hitters at A/AA can become stars.."we need a hero" i just think we're in for a loooooong wait
  24. need to get Stewart up to the Bigs fast and send down Alcala..I knew he would be a problem ...he, as do many Twins pitchers live too much in the middle of the plate
