  1. You are probably correct, but I am done with waiting for this FO. We have been waiting since 17 and have been told the next two years are the Twins window ever since.
  2. The only one of these players that should be on the Twins is SWR. Unless of course they think they are going to lose 90+ games next year, than Clemens is a great fit. Somebody mentioned that Taylor has a job, but lets not forget that job is on the team with the worst record in the league. (exactly the type of team that signs a player like Clemens)
  3. Bradley's career WAR is .9, highest WAR in any year is 1.7, 162 game average is .4 SWR's career WAR is 3.0, with a 2.0 and 1.2, and 162 game average is 2.0 Should we use ERA? Bradley does have 100 more innings, but I find it hard to say he has had more success.
  4. I am off the bandwagen, and will be until at least the manager is fired(probably the FO). Until that time I will continue to cheer for the individuals on the team to do well but for the team to lose.
  5. There was never a good time to extend Ryan, first mid market team should never extend anybody they have control of though age 31. Second was it after 22? his ERA in 23 was 4.51, then only started 23 games in 24. Was in after 23 when he just had an ERA of 4.51? was it after 24 when he had just started 23 games? Until this year he wasn't an all star or even gotten a Cy Young vote.
  6. Lopez was extended though age 31 season (same as the Twins have Ryan locked into) so that isn't close to the same thing. Musgrave cost the Padres 5/100 and so far started 17, 19 an 0 games a year since. How is that working out for the San Diego? Sonny Gray's extension worked so well, The Reds traded Gray away, and there is no chance the Twins could get anything close to that kind of deal (3/30 with a 12 million club option (which the twins picked up) basically 4/42. So a terrible deal, a deal that is nothing like Ryan, and a bargain deal that the Twins have no chance at getting. I feel like people want Ryan extended so they can bitch about how much he makes when he is hurt or not as good. Like Twins fans do about any player and the money they are paid.
  7. Please by all means list the teams that are worth 2 cents that have extended a starting pitcher that doesn't become a FA until age 32.
  8. I would rather watch you watching baseball then Rocco managing a game.
  9. I feel like the only way somebody could come up with an article like this is on a bet on who could insult the fans intelligence more. His OPS+ is 94 is career OPS+ is 79, is that and I quote "Looking Like a Bat Twins Can Count On" He has 64 plate appearances against lefties - .148/.242/.148/.390 not far off from his career - .200/.250/.296/.546 Another lefty that is unplayable against lefties, how may of those can you have on a team? If the Twins are punting next season, then yes Clemens is the type of player to keep around, just good enough to pretend you are trying, not good enough to actually being trying. (The Twins have half of roster full of those players)
  10. Agreed with most of these Twins pitchers without the increase in velocity would just be minor league pitchers. So I would guess they are wiling to do whatever is necessary to get to the majors. Brock Stewart basically said that last year.
  11. IMO there is no reason to see what Sabato, McCusker, Fedko or anybody else 26 or older (I would include Julien, Keirsay or Outman in that) because these are not the type of players the Twins need to rebuild this offense. They are the type of players that fill in around you core (after you have a core, which the Twins don't have at this time) Still trying to figure out Lee, Lewis, Wallner, Larnach and to a lesser extend Keaschall. At this point they have Buxton and Jeffers as absolute starters (likely Keaschall), The rest of the roster at this time is replacement or below replacement level. Wallner's OPS+ is 112, but is being pulled so....
  12. #1 thing is to fire Rocco. (at least that way I attend to watch Ryan pitch if he is still around) Other than a change of ownership, can't really see anything else that would help. Even winning will take time, because until they proven they can keep it up in the second half of the season, fans will just figure they will collapse anyway.
  13. Those were uneducated articles (same with Ober/Ryan and any other prospect that doesn't see the majors until 24 or later.) Because the twins already have Lewis Locked in (if they want) though age 29, Why buy out post prime years? For example Jackson Merrill would have been a free agent at age 27, the Padres bought out 5 maybe 6 years of FA at 9/135. He will be paid 21.1 from age 27 to 31 (maybe 32) that is a deal for a all star type player. Chourio would have been a FA at age 26, the brewers bought out 2 (at 16 and 17 million) maybe 4 years club option for 25 in years 3 and 4. Again a great deal for a player in his prime. We will see what the Rangers do with Langford (as they have waited to extend) and Baltimore with Henderson. The Royals waited a bit on Witt and it cost them 11/288, but really a 7/140 since he can opt out starting at age 31 for 4 years and then three club options after that. For those of you that think he needs more seasoning in the minors, you may not know it but you doubting his ability to be a super star, because super stars generally don't need that more seasoning (some do I get it) and to dominate each level. How much time did Witt, Henderson, Merrill, Chourio, Acuna, Rodriguez, Correa, Guerrero, Bellinger, Ramirez, Marte, Garcia, Altuve, De La Cruz, Goldschmidt, Tucker, Buxton, Mauer, Morneau, Seager, Kwan, Harper, Greene, Arraez, Tatis, Trout this are just name off the top of my head.
  14. The runner at first was also tagging, so I am not sure it was just his fault this time.
  15. I don't like defending Rocco, but CC, Vazquez, Bride, France and Keirsey's .141 OBP aren't on the team so there is that..
  16. What was I being negative about? I posted real life major league stats, you just move the goal posts to make you optimistic view more likely to happen. I compared 9 pitchers to Ryan and Ober and asked which one(s) were like them, and you switched it to age and rankings (because the answer was maybe one SWR) and left out all the guys already older than Ober and Ryan were. Based on everything Abel does have the best chance to be something, he only recently turned 24. I haven't and would not ever deny that. You changed again to say Bradley was a mid rotation guy and Ober was just OK. yet after 31 starts Ober's WAR was 2.2 and Bradley after 46 starts was 1.8 and now is .8 after 68 starts, Ryan 2.8 after 32 starts. It isn't being negative to say the probability of these pitchers being Jax or Sands is MUCH, MUCH higher than them being Ober let alone Ryan. Some of us are sick and tired of the play from our favorite team for a half of decade and what them to better and same old story is being told that we are just a year or two away when the next big things get here, and that hasn't happened, but hey this time is going to be different right? because finally this FO has changed or figured it out. Wasn't this current administration brought in make the Twins a perennial contender? (and the more guys they lose from the previous administration the worse they seem to do)
  17. When I turned on the game, it was 3 - 1 Twins and SWR was in the process of walking Vlad. Bichette had a great at bat, but a decent left fielder catches that single and the inning is over. Martin is not a decent left fielder. (then I turned off the game)
  18. sprained ulnar collateral ligament in his left thumb, had surgery, done for season.
  19. Name one pitching prospect that has been anywhere near as good as Ober and Ryan were when called up, maybe SWR? Ober 21 starts 4.19 ERA Ryan 5 starts 4.04, then 27 starts for 3.55 ERA Festa 25 games - 5.12 ERA Zebby - 20 games 5.88 Abel - 7 starts 6.43 ERA Bradley - first 32 games 5.59, 70 games 4.81 SWR has been better than Festa, Zebby, Abel and Bradley Varland better than the guys after Ryan and he ended up in the pen Winder 15 games 4.70 ERA ended up in the pen Jax 18 games - 6.37 ERA - Ended up in the pen Sands 11 games - 5.87 ERA - ended up in the pen But you and others want us ignore what we have seen with our own eyes for the last X amount of years, and believe in a low probability reality? I hope all of those guys ended up being all stars, but I also live in the real world that says that is very unlikely to happen.
  20. Wasn't that the same story told in 18,19,20,21,22,23,24,and 25 under this front office? I mean there is always 3-4 coming up in the next 12 months. (I have posted the position list multiple times) and there has been a crop SP prospects that could lead the team back. (Balazovic, Duran, Alcala, Enlow, Thorpe, Canterino, Sands, Winder, SWR, Henriquez, Petty, Hajjar, Raya, Varland, Jax, Graterol, Gonxalves, Romero, Littell) I am ready to move them this group running the team, would the next group be better or worse? I have no idea but that would change my feeling of being disgusted to hope again.
  21. If that is the core, we are talking about 27 or later? Basically 3 rookies as the core in 26 isn't really a core.
  22. I agree with a lot of what you said and disagree with a lot (like extending Ryan) You could all most cut and paste this and replace certain player and prospect names and have wrote this the last how many years. The Twins have always some studs and prospects ready to save the day. I kind of feel like the Twins are in the same position as when this FO arrived. The Twins had Santana (Lopez), Gibson (Ober), Berrios (Ryan), Hughes (SWR) with guys like May, Meyer, Gonzo, Romero, Jay, Mejia, Stewart,Jorge, THorpe Gordon, AK, Javier, Wade, Baddo, Arraez, Garver and Blankenhorn's coming up. Buxton, Kepler, Rosario, Polanco, Escobar already mostly established. (Now I will say I believe the current minor league players likely have a better future but as of now the core is worse) I will add if this FO thinks there is a legit shutdown coming in 27, they should absoletly be looking to trade Lopez and Ryan unless of course they think that somehow they won't become free agents when/if they come back in 28. (Imagine losing both those pitchers for nothing but picks, that would be unacceptable.)
  23. Congrats Wallner in 3+ plus years has 5.2 WAR (lots of that has come when the Twins were out of it games/season) , Larnach has 3.2 in 5 years, 7.9 for Jeffers in 5+ years and Lewis in 3.8 in 4 years (sure they all have been half years). Don't forget Julien and Miranda are on the plus side of WAR as well. I don't think you are making the case you think you are. I have admitted they have probably been better than average in getting guys that make the majors (which is no small feat) but something then holds them back, talent? development? what ever it is has caused this team to be what it is for 4 of the last 5 years. If you are only developing average major league players from your system, you need to supplement that with something besides the likes of France, Gallo, Bride, Gasper, Margo, Taylor, Urshela' and even Castro and Santana's of the world. (That is where they have failed as well) Just an FYI, Kepler and Polanco where on the Twins before this FO arrived, Polanco had 2 really good years and decent year in 7 years with this FO, and Kepler the same but in 8. As for Lee he turns 25 in February, which isn't old but most guys that turn out have established themselves at this age, he still has 2 Pre-Arb years left that good. Lewis is 26 and turns 27 in June, which should be his prime, absolutely both can become 3+ or higher WAR players. He is entering Arb 2 next year (and has two left after that) but is already making 1.6 so he is getting more expensive (like Larnach) and could be pricing himself out of job if he isn't performing. Keaschall only just turned 23, so he plays all most all of next year at 23 (which is great) and is looking like the real deal, it is only 108 plate appearances so fingers crossed he keeps it up after some exposure and bucks the trend of just about every position prospect the Twins have ran out there.
  24. Wallner seems to me to the be classic guy when the pressure is off he settles down and hits. The game or season, I hope that can change going forward,
  25. What ifs' Rooker, Gordon, Lewis, AK, Larnach, Javier, Cavaco, Celestino, Sabato, Urbina, Miller, Martin, Miranda, Julien, Schobel, Wallner, Lee, Jenkins, Rodriquez, Culpepper Erod, Jeffers (Oh, there is a good one) , Keaschall These are all guys that have been top 10 MN Twins prospects since 2018. That is 18 guys (excluding Rooker and Keaschall), There are some that are to young to know about yet (Erod, Jenkins, Culpepper, Rodrqiquez), and a couple that still might turn out (Lewis/Lee) , and a maybe Wallner. That is not good, so to automatically say the next group is like the earlier teens group. (Buxton, Sano, Kepler, Polanco) while possible is shooting pretty high. (and I really, really, really hope you are right) but....
