    If Larnach comes back as the double hitting monster he was between Kirilloff, Miranda and Larnach, some one may find himself trade bait for improved pitching.

    Simmons when he was best in the league averaged approx. 12 errors a year; Correa's GG last year had 11, so SS make errors as some times pushing it hard, which is why they are the best, goes awry.

    Unless you want to emabarass the current rookies NOT a good comparison, by second year both were full time players with double digit home runs while Hrbek batted over .300. Gaetti played 9 games his first year and Hrbek played 24.

    Your first sentence covers it well, Correa is dealing with the defense alignment that all the coaches stick him with, they may not be forms that he flourished with in the past. I still compare Correa to Simmons and Simmons range last year was HUGE, perhaps Correa's range is not as large and they are sticking him where he is most uncomfortable handi-capping his talent. Without him the Twins would be in a world of hurt.

    Cave's bats, oooohhhh, those near the Mendoza line better look over their shoulders.

    Kirilloff made some good plays last night, but one game does mean that will be the norm.

    Opposing pitchers are not worried about any of the Twins up from AAA rookies so far.

    The Twin have had a genuinely better than average infield defense for two years now, Correa leaves, so does that factor.

    Dump an absolute top line player for wishful thinking rookies; sounds too similar to the Orsen Wells allien in invasion panic.

    Twins rookies close to the Mendoza line better watch out, Cave's can be dangerous.

    A terrible catcher could easily make Walter Johnson, Sandy Koufax, or Bob Gibson look really bad though by just not catching the ball. -- YOUR words.

    Not catching the ball has zero reflect on the pitcher if it is in the strike zone; if it is not in the strike zone that has zip to do with the catcher.

    Bundy pitched to Sanchez yesterday; there is zero way a catcher can make a pitcher good or bad..

    Jake Cave just seems to motor on with .262 batting average plus or minus a couple week after week afte week....

    It is amazing, last year Simmons, whose defense was still top five was dissed for his bat (which so far this year is worse) so this year Correa , who is supposed to be better over-all is dissed for his defense, not his bat. A lot of nit picking . The rookies, except for Celestino (Larnach has a weak arm but is better than the others over-all) are the defense failing. Arraez's fielding is a nail-biter most of the time, but I do not see him as a rookie any more.

    The possibility of this make position player pitching worth it always. Chris Davis (BAL): May 6, 2012 -- Win, 2 IP, 0 R, 2 K Davis didn’t just get the win in this game -- he pitched well, allowing just two hits in two innings of work and striking out Red Sox players Jarrod Saltalamacchia and Adrián González. Davis started at designated hitter in the game and was 0-for-7 at the point when he took over on the mound for Jim Johnson in the 16th. He got another at-bat, as a pitcher in the top of the 17th and grounded out, making it 0-for-8. But then he turned in his second scoreless inning of work to seal the win for the Orioles. "I'm like, sweet," he said after the game of being asked to pitch. "I get to try something different today because hitting ain't working." Davis is one of five position players to get a pitching win in the Expansion Era, along with John Baker (2014), Wilson Valdez (2011), Brent Mayne (2000) and Rocky Colavito (1968). Davis is the only one to record multiple strikeouts while doing so. This game was doubly notable on the position player pitching front because Red Sox outfielder Darnell McDonald got the loss after giving up the go-ahead three-run homer to Adam Jones in the 17th. It’s the only game in the Expansion Era where position players got both decisions.

    Multiple Twins have been a few feet short of a run/s lately; whether it is ten feet or one foot short, makes zero difference.

    Twins do not have time to be a AAA learning team; fan attendance magnifies that.

    One better than his average week does not make Jeffers look better (his bunt though, was marvelous), none of the rookies, I do not consider Arraez a rookie any more, did well enough to think Sano is not gong right back to first. Their fielding is actually worse than Sano.

    Twins cannot get into a rhythm because the line-up is a who's on first item.

    After Jeffers near perfect bunt yesterday, some know how to do it; that at-bat will forever be a bright spot in my baseball memeories.
