  1. Yes, and if they stink, wait for Larry, Moe and Curly.
  2. IF, that wonderful word IF, que sera, sera.
  3. We have wishful thinking players who can play SS; about as far from ready as the Twins are from the World Series.
  4. If they are good enough to be in the majors, permanently, they WILL BE in the majors, other wise, they belong in the minors.
  5. Sanchez is far, far better than Jeffers; put Jeffers back in AAA to learn how to play better or cut him loose. If all three are gone next year, it will be a long sad season.
  6. Will do no good if one of the few stand-out defense players leaves; that would leave Buxton, when he plays, Urshela at Third, if he stays, Correa at Short Stop if he stays. Lose those two and the infield will be like have the defensive ability of Jeffers at every where except Center Field and to a degree Second Base. I.E. run at will.
  7. Oakland beat the Twins without a hit when Arraez threw an easy out into Right Field; DEFENSE is VERY impotant to the Twins which they have proven since the Bomba squad left and it is not comng back.
  8. Neither Kirilloff or Gordon should be allowed any where near Right Field, but Larnach has good numbers , so far., yet Kepler's fielding ability is very, very important.
  9. Sano at third base probably had a big influence; what hurt was letting C.J. Cron and Schoop go. Schoop on who saved most runs above average , at Baseball Ref. was number one this year, and Cron , this year, made any Twins First Baseman look inadequate. Without a top rank infield, the best pitching will just be frustrating .
  10. At Baseball Ref. Arraez has better defense numbers but Polanco has the better bat.
  11. Wallner is still AAA level, at best but I agree with the remainder for the most part.
  12. I agree with you except Wallner will be in AAA and Larnach is the big question.
  13. They will do that in Spring Training and the Minors, NOT in the Majors where Wallner has already shown his fielding stinks.
  14. I checked Google and MSN no such news but I did find this: With the game already out of hand in the eighth inning, the Cubs put in shortstop Andrelton Simmons to pitch that final half inning. Now, Simmons is one of the best defensive shortstops in baseball history with a cannon for an arm. He’s been clocked throwing 94 mph from shortstop, which could have translated to some serious heat on the mound. Simmons, though, went with a different approach. Instead of showing off the arm, Simmons decided to throw exclusively looping breaking balls to the Reds hitters. He threw as slowly as 39 mph and topped out at 79 mph (once). He made history with this pitch to Kyle Farmer. According to Codify Baseball, the 44.9 mph “slider” was the slowest pitch to draw a swinging strike in baseball history (or at least since these types of things were tracked). Farmer could only smile about missing that meatball of a pitch. He did eventually single on the at-bat, and the Reds went on to score five runs off Simmons who really should have showed off this arm https://ftw.usatoday.com/lists/cubs-andrelton-simmons-pitch-45-mph-reds-swinging-strike-video-reaction-mlb They could get him for his defense, and pitching ability, much better than Gordon.?
  15. He had 20 in 2019 at SS in the minors and 52 in 4 seasons in the minors.
  16. Looking at Royce Lewis' error rate in the Minors, I do not think he will be the future Short Stop.
  17. A team that may have the lousy defense of Jeffers, Miranda and God only knows what in Left Field, need an absolute top rank fielding Short Stop or they could put another rookie there who shows he is as good there as Palacios. Then they become the team with a , run at will catcher and a big hole between 2nd and 3rd.
  18. If a stop gap, bring Simmons back, we NEED defense.
  19. A rotating door is the reason the Twins stink so badly.
  20. In the 18 games he played at SS with the Chicago Cubs, his fielding numbers were second only to the 49 games he played in his first season ever with Atlanta. His glove is still near the best in either league, if the Twins do not sign Correa, they should make a serious effort to get Simmons again., and hire a GOOD batting coach to help him. (And a LOT of the Twins players.)
  21. Send Jeffers down the road and keep Sanchez or Leon as back-up.
  22. When Billy was with the White Sox in 2021 his OBP was .242 and Slg .378 this year Celestinos was OBP .313 and Slg .302; Celestino had 6 erros in 2 years, , in 10 years, Billy has had 10 errors. Keeping him for his well above average defense is worth what little he might make and better than watching rookies show they belong in the minors.
  23. Why would any one want Miranda at Third Base, ever? At First Base the Twins were morons for letting C.J. Cron go.
