  1. Go from a -1 Rdrs/yr to a -9 Rdrs/yr not wise or needed.
  2. If the Twin lose Polanco and Kepler and rely on Jeffers, they are no where team, with 3rd place at best.
  3. The potential you speak is at this point wishful thinking, at the same point in his career Cave greatly outperformed Celestino; Cave's injury put a big divot in his career, Celestino has no reason to be at the level he is, particularly lack of base running speed shows no desire to excel , Most who enter the Big Show and do meh , remain meh, wishful thinking rarely comes true.
  4. Caves batting numbers were similer and actually better than Celestino's this year; Cave had his best fielding numbers ever and the two were actually quite similar. To trash Cave as an excuse for Celestino's neither here nor there results, makes no sense; Cave was the better of the two.
  5. I do not follow rookies but did he come up for one game , did really well and was sent down again?
  6. Just how? 'His -34 Rdrs/yr., his fielding is as good as Jeffers' throwing out base runners while his batting averaage was tanking the more he played. Contreras had one more home run, only 4 less RBI, and is a very good fielder, he would fit better than Wallner The boy may have big potential but he has a LONG way to go .
  7. Contreras played 24 games in the outfield , his Rdrs/yr was 24 Wallner played 16 games in the outfield, his Rdrs/yr was -34 Wallner belongs in the minors, probabaly AA.
  8. At his age Billy Hamilton was a better batter and a far better fielder; Celestino's day may have come and gone.
  9. I was never a fan of Larnach but I hope this spring he shows he deserves to be in left field; he has good defense numbers. I like Gordon but he is too often a combination of Go Go Gomez (running) and Willie Norton ( fielding) (In Norton's defense, his fielding improved drastically his last year but his bat disappeared.) you are never sure which form of Gordon will show up each game.
  10. Buxton loathed being Designated Hitter, his batting average showed that well.
  11. Narvaez is another run-at-will catcher, other teams would love that; if you want to steal bases ,play the Twins.
  12. No I do not follow rookies rules closly at all. He had only 79 games in 2021, what is the minimum games played to be eligible for RoY?
  13. That really is sad as he never got to put in a full season to see what he can or cannot do; although with the Twins bring rookies up, down, up , down not surprising.
  14. IF, if Wallner improved drstically, he might make AAA Player of the Year but that would be amazing. Larnach, if he picks up where he left off, slight chance.
  15. Wallner should not be on the list, if Lewis ever plays without injury he is the best chance.
  16. Narvaez career Caught Stealing number is 22 percent; Sanchez career (both 7 years) is 29 percent. Narvaez would just be another black hole at catcher; resign Sanchez he is better than either, Pitch framing is just a Willo the Wisp with some dude thinking catchers can perform magic, Jeffers is far from a magician behind the plate.
  17. They have not signed him because they are smart.
  18. If he survives Spring Training he is half-way home already.
  19. We do not need a back-up catcher we need a competent every day catcher; as of now that is Sanchez.
  20. He would do nothing to strengthen the weakness.
  21. It would be nice if the rookies performed at the levels this place says they will but in reality some will be end up like Palacios and Contreras. Wallner belongs in AAA , at best, very poor fielder and his batting average was heading for the Mendoza line. They badly need a catcher or TWO. It is a long time till Sprint Training and who the Twins keep or trade is any one's guess; Twins Front Office wishful thinking probably is in a diffrent universe than the one that floats out of here.?
  22. The only place Miranda is guaranteed Third Base is on this forum.
