  1. I appreciate your post , be smart , be wise ... I'm not sure if i should be happy or sad ... 8 years of this current FO and what do they really have to show for it , 3 playoff wins in 2023 .... Thaaaaaats all folks
  2. I'm sorry Cody, the twins may favor and value flexibility to play multiple position , but they do not value defense , I'm tired of the official scorer not calling errors when it is obvious it was an error , these players are being paid to perform at the highest level ...
  3. Yep Julien starts the season at AAA and has to earn it back to to the show ... He was terrible on both sides of the ball , after showing defensive improvements during his rookie season ... Game is physical and mental and Julian mental approach was nor good...
  4. Preilipp and canterino have major league pitches already , there is no reason they should be on the roster at some point in the season , get them some innings at AAA and hope health continues ... There getting older and should be able to handle if healthy at the MLB...
  5. Lorenzo was a starting pitcher , but what about puk for relief , puk a lefthanded reliever and with some control ,, The front office hasn't made the right decision at a deadline yet ... 2022 they had no reason to believe the twins were contenders but made trades that didn't work out , and alot of us fans knew it ... now they begin being gun shy , 2023 we are a much better team and we don't make the push to be better and sit and do nothing , 2024 we are 17 games over approximately at the deadline and again we do nothing and we know how the season turned and finished out ... When are we going to have some qualified intelligent people working in our system , I will not cut this FO any slack , nor the manager , they are not qualified to contruct a winning team , they are qualified to construct a limited payroll team ... This current FO has been given an opportunity with a larger payroll than Ryan , I still have respect for Ryan ... Have a nice day ... Go twins , and all we can hope for is finishing 3rd or 4th in the division ...
  6. On a Polanco note .... Polanco is re-signing with Seattle , glad he's back , decent money , 7.5 m plus incentives .... Brasier has been dfa'd , what do you think , time to make a trade and get braiser and that catcher from the dodgers , it's going to take castro to do it thou plus we would have to take the 4.5 m salary of Brasier ... I know you like castro , but I think we could live without him if we could get a catcher for the future ...
  7. Remember Miranda's first rookie season , didn't he lead the twins in rbis with 70 something and it wasn't a full season , Lewis was on a tear and would have led the team had he started the team out of spring training and then injured in September before the 2023 playoffs , he was something to watch and I hope he gets his complete MOJO back ( stamina, discipline and his health ) ...
  8. I wish those stats would come , that means the player was productive one way or the other , clutch hitting and staying healthy is a must and speed stealing bases or just a hit and run , you responded on another thread of mine , ) if the players would hit to all fields they would get better pitches to hit ) ...
  9. As most post are going to be , they will all concur a change of something is necessary for a balanced roster for all teams to be competitive ...
  10. Get over the age thing , my point is , he was injured for many years but since he has played mostly injured free baseball he has developed at the levels and he keeps tapping into his talent , even if he turns out just a couple of average years or even increase his trade value it would be a plus for the twins ...
  11. When I first seen that Cody mentioned he needs to hit for power , first thought was Mauer , he had one season of power in 2009 ( 29 homers ) , he never hit more than 16 Homer's in another season ... Everyone loved Mauer and yes his inability to smack the homers irritated some , let Jenkins do what Jenkins does and that is hit to all fields and find the gaps , his power to hit homers will come if he chooses it to , kirby puckett was a singles hitter and then found power and had a great shortened career ... Again I will reiterate , this team is not a homerun hitting team , this team doesn't even have a 100 rbi player or 100 run scorer , when are people going to get past this ... Rbi's and runs matter , get on base matters , clutch hitters matter , and yes a 3 run homer is possibly a game changer ... Get on base by walk , error by other team , double and triples matter and so do clutch homers , but we don't have those clutch homers , we have solo homerun guys , rbis tell you that ... The metrics aren't all that there cracked up to be ...
  12. It has been a miserable off season watching other teams add players to try and help their teams ... The cease trade doesn't make sense to mortgage the future for one season , now if they could get him to sign an extension , that's a different story .. You don't trade for cease unless that is the last piece of the puzzle to be contenders , we need more consistency in hitting , better defense , just plain smarter baseball .. we have to have a consistent harmony throughout the whole team and we haven't that , so yes the season ahead is not looking good but I will watch and listen to all the games but I'm not spending any money on them , I already passed on twins fest ( how did attendance turn out for that , no reports on TD that i have read ) .... Go twins is all I can say , either they tank or either they go win the division , but my gut tells me they finish 3rd or 4th ...
  13. Keisey Jr has made great progress the past 2 or 3 years , keirsey was a 4th round draft choice , when he hit professional ball luck wasn't on his side , injuries derailed his development , since all the injuries he has almost played 3 years of solid baseball moving up levels , he had a good aaa season , time will tell , give the kid the chance and he might just surprise us ...
  14. I dont know whether I should laugh or cry ...
  15. In the movie Money Ball , Beanne was making trades every 5 minutes ....
  16. I watch other teams players hit , you can swing hard and hit the ball , but if you can't take a pitch were it is pitched , then the outcome is not favorable ... Others teams get on base by going to the opposite field , they know how to adapt to pitches because they are disciplined ... We need disciplined hitters that can hit behind runners , hit the ball where it pitched , we are not a homerun hitting team ( Cruz was our last ) ... We need the hitters to put less pressure on themselves by learning a better approach at the plate , especially with runners in scoring position and no outs ( choke choke choke is the game they have played since 2020 ) , the homeruns will come even without trying ... This could lead to a more exciting twins baseball ...
  17. Martin remaining a shortstop in the minors when the consensus was he wasn't going to handle the position ... They kept playing him there and then moved him to the outfield for a brief period before finally reaching the show , his best position as I see it is second base on the dirt , he still has a ways to go on the grass .... Lots of fans questioned his development at shortstop in the minors , but the front office kept him there .... Has it hurt his development , yes because major league baseball is stressful enough and then try to learn a new position at the MLB level just adds to more stress to make him a utility player ... They did not handle Martin on his development and there are others that they've waited to long on in the minors to develop , that hinders our defense at the major league level ... We don't need everyone to be utility players , we shouldn't need to platoon as often as we do , find the strength in the player and groom him for that position ...
  18. He should hang on to the jersey , sasaki will end up a twin when he's a washed up dumpster diving AAAA pitcher ...
  19. I'd like to play for today , but this team is way out in left field , we are not contenders quite yet until we fix some holes and the team starts playing with more consistency , look , we can beat teams that don't play 500 baseball , but we can't beat the elite teams during the season ... Keashall is ranked in the top 100 prospects , he may be a flop or he may be an above average player , we've invested in him so I'd like to see what he is capable of ... If the twins could sign cease to an extension , then by all means , make a trade , but for 1 year of service ,it would be foolish to trade away potential propects .... Potential is the key word , we never know how they are going to turn out , some of our current rookies the past few years hasn't encouraged me yet , I hope the rookies( less than 3 seasons of playing ) play better this season ...
  20. I did not read it entirely yet but when I saw keashall and the others named in the first proposal for cease , my thought was no way do we sacrifice our future for 1 year of cease ... Really we don't need pitching when it's our inconsistent lineup that need the attention ... When the FO has made trades , they've added players with control when trading off prospects , I just don't think the FO should do this trade for 1 year of cease , if we were true contenders then it's a yes ... They first have to find away for the lineup to be consistent and we've seen the past few seasons where they are streaky , streaky , streaky .... You get the whole team working in harmony , then you deal for an ace as the final piece for a push to the world series , not until then ...
  21. Keashall has turned out to be a very good draft acquisition , he's a hitter first , but isn't a defensive liability at second , 1st base or in the outfield , sounds like a gem but time will tell , I would love to see him in a twins uniform in 2025 if he has earned it ... We need hitters and if FO trades this prospect , I don't know , I may come unglued ...
