  1. Rocco showing no desire to help out today.
  2. That was one of the more terrifying games in awhile. HUGE WIN!
  3. Mike Ryan had a 4 hit game wiped out in 2002 in Detroit due to rain. That's right, he had four hits in four innings. That really screwed his statistics over as he had limited time that year.
  4. I don't think we'll see Perez out of the pen. Sadly, he is pretty much a given to remain in the rotation at this point.
  5. I just looked these games up. During these six games, Kip Gross made his only start of the season for the Dodgers and Tim Crews made one of two starts for the Dodgers. The Expos had two randoms start but these weren't true bullpen games as the shortest outing between the twelve starting pitchers was El Presidente, who got rocked and lasted 4.2 innings. Four relievers was used in only one of the games, while 2-3 were the norm. I wouldn't consider these bullpen games, just games started by a reliever that still managed to go at least 5 innings. The main difference is relief pitchers were allowed to go multiple innings in these days so you only needed 3 pitchers per game.
  6. This is going to be interesting for Rocco to manage since he had these lineups constructed 10-12 years ago.
  7. So what are we looking at? Back-to-back bullpen days in a double header? That should end magnificently.
  8. Even when they are pitching lights out, the starters are not allowed to pitch into the seventh on most occasions. We had the stretch about a month ago where Gibson, Berrios, and Pineda all dominated with pitch counts in the low 80s and left after six or seven innings. But, dammit, we needed to get Matt Magill some extra work before we released him.
  9. At least the six runs allowed from pitchers who should not be on this roster didn't come back to bite us.
  10. I have long been a proponent of leaving pitchers in longer when they are pitching well and having a quick hook when they are not. Rocco takes the exact opposite approach.
  11. Does anyone think there is a potential playoff team we can beat full strength or not?
  12. Gibby now with more pitches than when he got taken out with a 1 hitter.
  13. Ryan ****ing Lamarre, ladies and gentlemen,
  14. That's disgusting. You really can't even claim it's an anomaly when the numbers are that egregious.
  15. I think Schoop had a better chance of getting a little league home run than Castro had of getting a run home. I will not be sorry to see him gone at season's end.
  16. Good, let's take out berrios now that he's pitching well.
  17. I would love to see some data on what percent of players go from being injury prone youngsters to ever playing more than a fluke full season.
  18. Fun fact- I reduced the number of speeding tickets I got by driving less. Not because I slowed down.* Injuries SHOULD go down if you're not playing. *Story may or may not be true as the scenario was used to make point and I am a law-abiding citizen that would never speed.
  19. THIS. There have been times were guys have had multi-home run games and then are on the bench the next day. Also, early in the season it seemed to me he did this with the bullpen, where our set up guys were pitching in blowouts and guys like Vazquez pitched in a close game.
  20. Let's not forget that in the last CBA they agreed to ADDITIONAL days off throughout the course of the season. They are already automatically getting more rest than they would have previously.
