Praise the Lord. Although I expect him to be more like 2011 Thome than 2010 Thome.

What makes them think next year is going to be "the year"? They will have even less pitching and presumably no Cruz.

I despise his non-reactions and what i interpret as aloofness and the overall smugness of the front office thinking they are masterful baseball minds.

It is pretty much a given you are set for an implosion when dick starts singing your praises.
  5. notoriousgod71
Especially if they bring back the current pitching staff.
  6. notoriousgod71
Rotating through a million different awful pitchers isnt bold enough for you?
  7. notoriousgod71
    This is how we baseball.
  8. notoriousgod71
I would demand they take gibby out but the guys in the pen are even worse.
  9. notoriousgod71
    Pelfrey?
  10. notoriousgod71
Radke was not an ace. He wasn't even really a good number two most years.
  11. notoriousgod71
    International League? Yes, please.
  12. notoriousgod71
Starting pitchers MUST go 85 pitches whether they are throwing a no hitter or giving up 47 runs.
  13. notoriousgod71
I hope he IS needed the next few days.
  14. notoriousgod71
Bieber becomes the first pitcher since 2017 to throw three complete games in a season! Let's name a holiday after him!
  15. notoriousgod71
At one point, the "book" (written by Jack Morris) said, "You're in the bullpen because you're not good enough to start."
  16. notoriousgod71
Good job, Duffey, way to prove me wrong!
  17. notoriousgod71
Or if the bullpen loses it.
  18. notoriousgod71
I still wouldn't take him out. He's pitching better than anyone coming out of that bullpen right now.
  19. notoriousgod71
Bringing in a relief pitcher when your starter has < 80 pitches seems like a repeat fatal error if Smeltzer is, indeed, done.
  20. notoriousgod71
And THIS is why I wouldn't hesitate to trade Buxton for a legitimate starting pitcher. He makes Mauer look like an iron man.
  21. notoriousgod71
Fantastic bullpen management as always. Im glad we dont play in the NL; we would never see a starter go over 80 pitches.

What were the solid deadline deals Ryan made? Stewart- anyone else? Getting Pavano, Cabrera, Rauch, Fuentes, even Capps was Bill Smith. Ryan would more likely ship off major league players like Lawton and Redman and not improve the team at all.

Their years of futility are made acceptable by their years of going all in. The Twins have similar years of futility and bring in Sam Dyson and Sergio Romo.
  24. notoriousgod71
That is more of a rental?
  25. notoriousgod71
We will be easily appeased with another Joe Mauer night.
