  1. Breaking news. If you are in business you will be sued at some point. Listen to some interviews with the man himself. His main criteria in buying a business is a good management group that needs resources to level up. Sound familiar? I'm in. https://www.spiveyconsulting.com/blog-post/justin-ishbia-interview/?ref=spiveyconsulting.ghost.io
  2. Agreed completely no one is going to mess with this one. Relatively no one had heard of Yunior at that time. Death sentence is possible. What the Twins could have, that is perfectly legal, is a potential new owner that could hypothetically layout his general thoughts about signing talent in the media as part of introducing himself to the locals. Something about we love our homegrown stars and when Derek develops the next Joe Mauer we will have money to sign them and make them Twins for life. An existing owner couldn’t do that without attracting attention. We can dream I guess. I do wonder what they can talk about in the meetings as far as the sale. I assume there is some sort of agreement to keep all things private but if I’m Sasaki and considering the Twins I’d want to know some details on the sale situation. The Twins might have some details they would want to share as well. Could they bring him into an NDA to give him the most current information? Reputation of the organization and owners is what fills in the gaps of not being able to talk long term plans. I’d hate to be Falvey in that meeting knowing I can’t say anything about nothing. He’s quite good at it but it’s a worthless skill in recruiting.
  3. Yes and the difference in the pools is a couple million max which is not going to be the difference. There is a restriction about discussing long term contracts is the posting period so the Dodgers and Yankees can't just wink wink sign first then we will pay you. The Twins should be all over this chance and should have as good a chance as anyone with what little we know. He would my #1 priority. Good core, good pitching development, good vibes for a new owner, good pitchers ballpark, good division, good defense (most of the time), great summer weather. Get it done. Get Pable and Correa on a plane, whatever it takes. Max effort.
  4. I appreciate that the takebot has a functional BS detector that while even set to it's minimum sensitivity still detects that this story is a bridge to far. TD regrets the error and future versions of the takebot will have this functionality disabled.
  5. So let’s read what he said. It nots the least bit different than what you wanted him to say. It’s mealy mouth manager speak to answer a ******** question he is rightly annoyed that he has to answer. Matter of fact, reading this again should give us full license to write a bunch of these crap articles about Buxton, Lewis, Duran, Jax, Pablo and Walker Jenkins. He has obviously declared everyone available here. Lifetime supply of clickbait! When he was pushed on Correa…the exact same thing. There is no here here. Don’t get bent out of shape because he didn’t use your preferred version of saying nothing. And yes, your hypothetical quote is also a version of saying nothing.
  6. Considering the reliance on pre-arb talent some sort of minor league system might be appropriate as well.
  7. He absolutely did not kick off Correa trade concerns this year. One media member made up the scenario and others asked him about it. He is not in a position to say anything firmly with a sale over his head. His answer was perfect in 49 states. And Puerto Rico. His words don't matter when a dedicated group will only hear what they want to hear.
  8. Weeeeelllllll, yes and no. Should Falvey be attuned to the Minnesota moron level of media and sports sophistication by this time? Probably. But I’d wager he is and doesn’t care. His answer was perfect in 49 states. Nothing realistically different than what Dipoto said. We need the media to stop asking the when he stopped beating his wife type questions. It’s high time Minnesota got onboard with an adult, winners mindset. If the new owner rumor comes through, minds will be blown.
  9. The last Gleeman and the Geek with Dan Hayes confirmed it. They described exactly how it happened and how Falvey was asked based on the circular reporting. Of course Falvey had to give the politicians answer. Now its Twins Daily gospel. 🤷‍♂️
  10. Also, the “trade rumors” are completely a media creation. Stop it please.
  11. I bet they make it up somewhere else, the tax code is a magical, mysterious thing.
  12. He does love Nashville, has one of his offices there... 🤷‍♂️ Hey, where's that lease again?
  13. Less glib answer, listen to the interview. He states he wanted to end up in the midwest and is really big on going where the opportunity is. A team for sale is the midwest would obviously catch his attention.
  14. Here's an interesting interview about his background. Played baseball coming up... also has a team in Nashville and ties all over so I don't see an obvious relocation risk. https://www.spiveyconsulting.com/blog-post/justin-ishbia-interview/?ref=spiveyconsulting.ghost.io
  15. Kinda makes all these other articles we’ve been churning out seem pointless, huh? Nothing in this offseason matters more than this and the rest of the offseason will develop around it. As I have been saying.
  16. Very early…for us. Not early for them. They aren’t likely to go on the road in any case and the Minnesota to Arizona snowbird path is like a super highway. It’s almost the most likely combination ever. No idea how tied they are to Phoenix but a spring training swap might make a lot of sense. Synergies and all that.
  17. I think the sensational headline is burying the real question. No we obviously don't want a clubhouse cancer. Do I want a little "red ass" in the mix? Absolutely. I've mentioned before that it is probably in short supply from what I can see out here. A Pham, as described, might be a very helpful person to mix in. Any combination of loafer, quitter, selfish and whatnot is out. The Pierzynski mention by @Fire Dan Gladden is a great example. I don't mind a guy that opponents hate as long as he is full bore on our side.
  18. I hope not, the is no such thing as a pitching surplus. I don't see an imbalance at all. Also, the impact bats are already on the roster. They just need to be impactful.
  19. In which the three questions are all creations of the chattering class. I bet they aren’t thinking about any of these things. We’ve already confirmed the item 1 was completely a media creation.
  20. I look at it from the angle of the quality of the financial obligations rather than having the obligations or not. Having three top tier talents locked up well below replacement cost is attractive to a business buyer. Owing money to, say Anthony Rendon, would be a negative.
  21. If you haven't tuned in to the latest Gleeman and the Geek yet, it's a good one. The fully confirmed and described the method that this whole thing was just a creation of bored media. Circular reporting at its finest. And some of you fell for it.
  22. This is a good contract. Correa is a good contract. Buxton is a good contract. Paddack is a good contract. I think Vazquez is a good contract but some may disagree. They aren't getting rid of good contracts. They might make a sensible baseball move that involves one of these players but that path is hard to see with the big 3. They aren't going to cut their own throats so they can sell a worse business less money.
  23. Polanco salary was reason 4 or 5 why he was traded. If you look at that trade as a salary dump, I can't help ya. What is this F & S thing you keep saying? It's not catchy enough for me.
