    I'm NOT and never will be a champion of Homeruns or nothing. I love guys like Arreaz. High OBP guys who will get on and score runs. Sure the homers are great. But when you see hitter after hitter on dead pull and struggling to put balls in play it IS frustrating. But that doesn't mean Miller is ever going to be a high OBP type guy either. Maybe his glove does play right now. So if his glove plays, where do you put him? Move Carlos to 3rd and Lewis to 2nd or maybe a corner OF spot. Tell me your plan for 2024 with this roster and include Noah Miller as your starting SS.

    So the Dodgers can foresee the future. And the Twins FO isn't good at evaluating some talent but they are good at evaluating others. You're putting emotional attachment above all else. I'll be honest. I haven't seen Miller. If he's as great as what you're claiming. Then you'd be right. Have you seen Doncon? Sano type? Sano was Sanos worst enemy. I think the Twins should hire you to evaluate talent.

    Miller. He will go down as the greatest glove at SS. If Jeffers were the guy traded. It would be jubilation. Even if the Twins got Roseboro in return.

    The bat is a big if. Let's say his bat does play. How many years will be needed before Correas skills erode enough to give Miller that opportunity? 2,3, maybe 5. A lot can happen between now and then.

    OK. I only mentioned Kirilloff and not Solano because Solano is no longer there. But yes I remember that too. Like I said. I hope you're right. I don't think he's terrible. I just don't think he can be above avg. I'd be very happy if he were. Stable lineups are more comfortable than musical chairs. From what I've heard he's 100% ready to go physically as opposed to last year.

    We've discussed this before. And I just want to ask why you feel that way? Kiriloff on pop-ups. Whew. But not just that. He goes after balls to his right hand side that he shouldn't and gets caught in that no man's land where it gets fielded by the 2nd baseman and he's caught out with the pitcher racing to cover 1st. His range is OK. But good 1st baseman seem to have that natural instinct. I said he's pretty good with the scoop. I agree he can get better. But I don't think he'll ever be considered above avg. Hey I hope you're right. 👍

    OK water toter. 1st off you keep talking about the BAM money. That was a 1 time thing and it was represented by the 2023 payroll increase. I assume the Twins realized that. So a decrease would be expected for 2024. But not back to what the payroll was in 2019. Payroll should have been adjusted back to 2022 with a slight increase. The cost of doing business generally goes up annually. It's called inflation. I'll give them a little leeway for the fact that the TV deal wasn't done. But they managed to screw the pooch on that one too. And your analogy of a working person's budget as opposed to the the way the Twins do business is ludicrous and not real. A working person needs to adjust to survive. The Twins won't disappear off the map if they lost money for a year or 2. And I'm not one who advocates spending huge dollars on FA. But don't cry poor mouth and act like you're doing us all a favor. Buxton signed 2 years ago. Correa last year as well as Lopez extension.. Are you saying they didn't realize they had spent all that money going forward? I hope you like that occasional bone they toss out there. Am I hiding?

    Why are a lot of people using the Orioles way of team building a great success? For about the last 20 years they've sucked. Yeah they occasionally brought up some good players Machado, Jones only to deal them away or lose them to free agency. So they've done really well drafting and getting these new guys MLB ready over the past 5 years. Get back to me in 5 years when Rutchmann and all these other young guys become too expensive and are dealt away. They have the model. But do they have the glue?

    For all those complaining about the constant griping about spending. Here's what Twins mgt has done for the team and it's fan base. Announced payroll cuts due to the loss of TV revenue. Then turn around a sign a tv deal for less money. It wasn't the best or only deal perhaps I don't know but it was the easiest. If it was the only option, why? Closed upper deck for early part of the season. To cut costs? Or because they can't sell enough tickets to warrant it staying open. I personally think the Twins have a huge PR problem. Why can't the Twins avg well over 2 million yearly like let's just say the Brewers do. It's cold there in April too. When the perception is you get what we give you and you better like it, it tends to alienate the paying public. And once you've lost them it's hard to get them back. Yeah it gets old. But so does complaining about the high K rate or Rocco is terrible or the bullpen. No one's complaining as much about the pen so far because it looks like they made moves to improve it. The same will happen with spending if they improve their public image. Right now that's not so good.

    Sounds like the old washboards will make a comeback with the new unis. Sweet. Maybe that's part of the reason for shedding payroll. They have to employ more locker room help.

    TC Bear is in trouble again. The Pohldads bought the foundry and are moving it lock stock and barrel to China. They said they couldnt get the payroll right sized enough. There goes those extra shifts.

    With a career OPS of almost 800. Most career hits by a catcher. Career avg. .296. Yeah I'd say it was primarily his defense.

    You're a politician. I did write Only after 25 post. And that's what you cling too. I focused on Belanger because he was the weakest hitting of those you mentioned. Might as well have mentioned Ray Oyler too.

    Hey. You and CCHOF know everything. You're both making blanket statements that say BR got into the Hall on Defense only. That's simply not true. If he hit like Belanger or Blair. 2 of his teammates he'd have never gotten in. And you know it. Did you ever see him play? He was considered a dangerous bat League wide. Just not on your sabermetrics chart. Last word freak

    I disagree. I don't remember Robinsons final numbers. But he was just short of 3000 hits and 300 homers. The old numbers that got a player in automatically. So those numbers PLUS his defense got him in. If he hit like Belanger or Blair he'd have never gotten in
