    After that they have 7 games vs Central rivals Tigers and White Sox. Those games are at least as if not more important.

    In the pre-game it was mentioned that hitters swinging 1st pitch vs Junis were hitting around .400. So I'm sure that was the philosophy coming into this game.

    There's different descriptions of quality. There's usda select, choice, and prime. When it comes to the OF Martin would be considered select. He had a terrible jump on a bloop base hit. He turned a routine single into a double with a throw that was 10' short of the bag and the triple which should have been caught. He was there. He did not look comfortable at all. In spring training he got turned around several times on balls hit deep. So no. He's not a good defensive option in the OF. Just because someone is a good athlete does not mean they can play out there. Lewis Lee Martin and others have been mentioned numerous times. Hey. Just put them in the outfield. It's not that simple.

    I do remember the laughter but I thought it was in response to a question Provus asked. He asked something along the lines of was a hitter focused on the pain or was he focused on the next pitch. I don't think he was laughing at or about Keplers pain.

    I always thought DeSclafani was a throw in. There is no way the Twins were going into 2024 counting on him to be a part of the starting rotation knowing his injury history. But that's what they were selling the fans. The Mariners got what they wanted and needed without giving up anything the Twins need. Topa the morning may help when he's ready. I don't care if Polanco is 0 for 50. He WILL contribute. Topa MIGHT. The Twins might still get something out of this trade in the future. But for the 2024 season it is doubtful. And that trade was supposed to add help NOW. I'm not seeing it. So how does this trade rate an A B or C. I'll grudgingly give them a D-

    So when I purchase my next new car. I'm going to look for 1 that has all the bells and whistles. BUT I want one with a blown motor and I can negotiate with the sales person how much they'd be willing to knock off the purchase price

    I don't think it was an inferior lineup. But I also don't advocate throwing in the towel in March. 3 games in and he's protecting his 2 studs. From what? Embarrassment? He went out to pull Pablo in game 1. Pablo shut it down. It sends the wrong message. If it were Aug or Sept and Rocco did It to give them a rest. OK. I also don't think Rocco is a bad manager. I just don't happen to think he's a good manager either.

    There were at least 3 plays where Martin showed he's not a good OF. And watching him during ST the results were similar.

    Shake it off. There was some good. The bullpen allowed only 3 (2 earned) over 6 and 2/3. There was a lot not so good. On to cincinnati. I mean Milwaukee.

    Martin is not ready for CF. Range is decent but the arm isn't.

    Who are the too many easy outs?

    Not sure what experts say but there has been studies done to younger athletes who focus on 1 sport vs multiple sports. The 1 sport athletes seem to be more injury prone. Some think it's due to over training. Some say it's not enough stretching. It does seem like there are just some guys who are more injury prone. That's just bad luck I guess.

    Looks like he'll be out for at least a month now. You sure about that?

    Kepler isn't out, but doubtful he'll play since he's not starting. Do you think he'd come in as a defensive replacement if his knee kept him out of the starting lineup? Maybe as a pinch hitter. We'll see. I'm anxious to see tomorrow's lineup. Back to back games. Will Buxton get an off day or DH or play CF?

    4 doubles 1 homer and the rest mediocre singles.
