  1. Remember, we also have Zack Granite waiting in the wings. He won't hit for power, but he will hit for average & OBP.
  2. Hey guys. We're are below 500. We can't hit. The relievers are shi* The fielding stats aren't bad, but most of our errors were ruled hits. Still, we are only half way thru the season. Polanco is back. No telling what we'll do in the 2nd half. and Molly still sucks as a manager.
  3. Why did Moliter use all the new guys the first time out ? Are the holdovers really that bad ?
  4. When Gibson was "good" he was inconsistent. I'll be happy if 18's Gibson is consistently "good".
  5. a flurry of small injuries hits our starters. Duffy is picked as a starter and pitches brilliantly. 2nd coming of Bert. Completes the season as a starter and wins a post-season start.
  6. I was fully prepared for another disappointing game vs GS. Does that mean I should be prepared to hope to win tonight ? I hope so.
  7. Keep Vargas. his hitting is timely. Morrison can play OF at least as well as Grossman. I'd like to see Granite in rotation with our other OF. Nothing still falls but raindrops. But Granite will probably be sent to AAA and brought up if someone is injured. Escobar is a proven backup in the infield. no others are needed at this time.
  8. Lets see...this makes the Rochester rotation: Meija, Gonzalves, Sleger, Romero, Littell & Lord knows who else in Rochester. That should be a winning rotation for them and we'll see clearly who needs to be promoted to the Twins in case of injury or catastrophe.
  9. ROSE's +/- is negative. Jones is positive. and Teague is slightly positive. It will be interesting to see if ROSE has a positive affect on this team.
  10. Leadership ? Sano. He can't help himself. Aybar keeps the infielders and 4th outfielders on their toes. They can see that he's a shadow of his former self, but his formidable reputation keeps them nervous. Vargas. He has had key hits on so many occasions. I hate the thought of loosing him. Of course they should sign Lynn or Cobb or Arrieta if they can. The Twins can't have enough good starters.
  11. Every game I turn on the TV and cross my fingers. Right now, it doesn't look good.
  12. I like Gibson. I have high hopes for Gibson. I am very suspicious of his start in 2018. Will he be able to start up the way he ended 2017 ? I doubt it. Gibson seems to have to re-learn how to pitch each season. The Twins have to throw Gibson onto the mound every 5 days and live with the results. I doubt the results will be consistent until June. We can hope for better, but we shouldn't expect it.
  13. I have a favorable impression of Jake Odorizzi. I watch all the Twins games and many other games as well. I get impressions. I trust these impressions and I like this trade. I like Berrios to improve but I don't trust Gibson or Meija. We had to bring in at least one outside pitcher of worth. I think (hope) (pray) that Odorizzi will be a reliable starter.
  14. I hate being negative, BUT if looks too good to be true its usually too good to be true.
  15. And the Twins sign Jake Odirezi, so that makes this thread ...meh
  16. Lets hope that Hughes or May or one of the Rookies, steps up and we don't have to use Meija as a #5
  17. There are plenty of AB for our current players in the DH & OF. They should be taken by Mauer, San, Granite, Vargas. Escobar, Garver & Grossman. This combo of hitters is better than all the Napoli types. After 2018 we will want to discard some. Until then, don't even think of bringing in an experienced RH hitter.
  18. NO! nononononono ! an experienced right handed bat would take up at bats. The future of the Twins is in its youth. Let the young hitters sort it out amongst them. Let the kids get all the ABs.
  19. nice narrative. I'd like to hear more about baseball in the Dominican.
  20. I'd take the Twins infield over the Indians, any day. Lindor is a star. I'd love to see him in a Twins uniform, but would you take Ramirez over Sano ? or Kipnis over Dozier ?? and whoever they play at 1B over Mauer ? Come on? Be Serious.
  21. In my opinion this analysis puts way too much emphasis on past performance and not enough on growth. Except, perhaps, for starting pitching. A projection of Twins starters being any better than average is based on hope.
  22. Something bad will have to happen to get Wade into the majors in '18. Something bad will have to happen to get Gordon into the majors in '18. Kinley is something bad about to happen. Some relievers will prove that no good is going to happen for them, when you compare them to last years holdovers. Romero & Gonsalves are something good happening and I am looking forward to their debuts.
