  1. Twins are great for the KC 7 game losing streak that they just came out of. 2 Runs in 2 games, and Baldelli reliance on his odds only. Recipe for success for KC with the pressure on.
  2. Absolutely. Lee with a hero complex, Lewis slump slump slumping, AAA players nervous and in the most important games of the season, This line up is not what got us here, anyway, and everyone is basically playing without a position. It is really amazing that anyone defends the organization, right now. Lots of hype about how good they will be, just no one really lasting a season, whether slumping or injury.
  3. I don't care who goes first. Jax or Duran right now. Duran gets so much contact anymore. And Jax gets quite a bit, too. I don't think that bothers them. I think that if they pitch without pressure or the "high leverage" outings that they both lose a bit of focus. This wasn't the case, tonight. There is no way I pull Ober at 83 pitches and 15 in a row. Soft contact. Efficient. On a roll, and really, probably 2 more innings with his count. One at least. One and start the 9th. But he definitely comes out to start the 8th and we see how it goes. This was the type of game and time of year and importance of game that you ride the starter if they are cruising. Even to more pitches than he has pitched all season. Baldelli probably would have taken Morris out in the 7th or 8th in game 7. I hate his managing. I am sure he is a nice guy. I hate his managing in so many ways. Looks like Houston in the wild card series, if anyone. Maybe better than the Yankees. Who knows. Like KC Chiefs, there are always a threat to go all the way, even when they don't look so dominant during the season.
  4. "Ya. You know, Bailey had been real good. 15 in a row. But our odds say 83 pitches is a lot, and they had really batted Bailey around in a couple other games. Odds are they were due to get some hits, off him you know. I think that overrides that at 83 pitches and 15 in a row set down you should stay with him, you know, and give him a few batters and see how it goes, and that maybe he could go out there and get a few more, you know, and that it was time to put Duran in, and let him get some confidence, you know, after giving up that one game winning grand slam, as long as he didn't have to face Witt. That would be too much confidence. You know he and Jax are our go to guys, and they both had gotten slammed around recently, so you have to go with the guys that got you here, no matter how good Bailey was pitching. I mean, 15 in a row isn't really that many."
  5. And for further context worth noting, they are only (ONLY) 4 games behind those other two teams, and they are but a .500 team against the league without the 13-1 record against the White Sox. No reason to not have urgency, focus, and intensity. They have looked horrible in the field, this series, with little league type of plays. Tic toc. Time is running out. Also worth noting, is that if they can't win the division and get the first round bye, they may want to finish 3rd and play the Astros in the 3 game wild card series and not the
  6. I would hope so. You didn't call Buxton any names, and what you were accused of was inferring something you never said. Then the other guy called you names. Several and more than once. And yet, that seems it is allowed. Curious at times. But I would just ignore. There is always the ignored user settings. Can I say that I wish I never had to have the game interrupted by Audra's fluff in the stands? All those promos drive me nuts. 😇
  7. I would take 15 million for not a single day of good health for 6 months. When it happened to me, it didn't didn't pay very well. I can take a lot of pain. I just wish it would pay more.
  8. So if they have already doubled and homered in the game, and are seeing the ball and killing it, you don't pinch hit for them. But this manager will pinch hit when the hitter is hot. The great cooler. If the hitter is 0-2 with two horrible Ks, you pinch hit. There has to be some actual managing. I don't see it with the religious platoon, especially in the 5th inning.
  9. How does some at bats, like when the hitter is red hot, become every day?
  10. Margot keeps getting the call to pinch hit against lefties. yet he is 0-28 as a pinch hitter, and some 130 or so games is significant. When does that override the "odds" and become the "odds", and you just keep the left handed batter in the game to get an AB and let him get an opportunity improve his line? I don't think any of the batters Margot pinch hits for is 0-28 against the same sided pitchers.
  11. Do they even have a winning record if you take the White Sox's games out?
  12. What a sad game. If Festa has players that actually can play average defense, he probably gets out of the 4th. Martin can't really play defense well at any position. Amazing that when they traded for him he was a SS. Errors that don't get scored errors. And Santana has to make that play at first. Gold glover, as he is being hyped as? Then he really has to make the play. I remember quite a few plays like this this season, where there is no error, but he could have picked the throw at first, or made the play in the field, and it wasn't scored an error. Yes, he has made some fine plays, too. But really, professional baseball players are supposed to be great in the field if you ask me, like Lee's catch and throw home for the out. Great play. That is all they have done all their life. Play baseball. Helman's throw was comical. Even if you are not playing in the Show, defensive responsibility is the same at all levels. Hero complex is not a good look first game ever. The Twin's love the guy that never made it up. Even if they might have someone better for the call up. I really hope these guys start acting like they want to be a playoff team, and that means scoring more than 1 or 2 or 3 runs a game, and making the plays that are there to make in the field. This was a really boring baseball game to watch again. At least Thielbar didn't blow it up. And new/old guy, Tonkin. As unreliable as the top tier of relief was for the recent home stand, when you have Festa only allowing 2 in 5 (and that was really on the defense to a large degree), and Thielbar and Tonkin and Castillo putting up zeros and totally shutting the Rays down, you can't waste it.
  13. When you just forget and move on, history repeats itself. I hope they don't ever forget. So many are normalized to play like this and "just forget" or "shower and flush". And so are too many fans. Aw shucks, move on. No No No. Think about it all night. And never forget it. People pay to see this, and it should never be aw shucks normalized. They didn't even compete. They should never forget this kind of performance, and never accept it again.
  14. Decent? Our fans and posters gush that Lopez is an ace............... that makes Berrios, who's season is better than any pitcher we have by a good deal, a super ace. Decent? I guess. By the time I could get the game on, it was over at 10-0. I guess Baldelli likes to give the new guy confidence by leaving him it to get totally humiliated. Nice. These games do all matter, especially now, right? It's not a secret Baldelli isn't in on, right?
  15. OK. I give you that. (But then, Margot might be the most trusted pinch hitter on the team, and how is that going) Lots of staff aces in the show then, I guess (30 is a lot), and with that caveat, every team has one, and some couldn't be even a #2 starter on some teams. An MLB ace is what fans really want.... or at least that is what I consider an "ace" in the show. But to each their own. I think I remember you writing that you have the yellow jersey. Do your have both colors, now? Great marketing, to change the color - $$$$$. PT Barnum would be proud.
  16. Speaking of ace's, Sale is leading MLB in Ks, ERA, and wins, currently (albeit tied in all three categories at the time I write this). Who is the last pitcher to win the MLB triple crown, and lead the majors in all three categories for a full season (60 game 2020 does not count), and what year?
  17. Or just 4 and 9 starts ago. I don't know how it is considered ace stuff when you can only K 3 batters in 7.2 innings. But I understand wanting a ace so bad a fan will create one in their mind......
  18. Really? Now he is an ace? With that season ERA? OK..........
  19. Burn more arms. Bullpen management.
  20. This has to be Rocco thinking that Duran needs a game to get confidence. Not a good start. Duran cannot miss bats these days. Lots of contact, in every at bat.
  21. Lewis just jogged the whole way to first on that double play. Is he hurt? I thought he was Mr. Speed. It looked like if he was trying, he could have beat it out there.
  22. He knows what he expects for himself, and it is expressed well with his own words, and I think that explains it all.
  23. I thinks the thumbs down is misinterpreted. It is defined on TD as, I think but can't find where I read it - the info was on this site - a disagreement. To express that you disagree. One can disagree without explaining why. Sometimes it is very evident. I think people sometimes take it as an affront, and personal, but by definition, perhaps, it really isn't.
