    Seems like Correa failed to attend to his wrist in the 4 months off. Now he gets more highly paid vacation? I still can’t believe Gasper is on this team.

    I guess someone should tell Castro, then, or if they have, Castro should own it. The throw didn’t actually cause any advantage. But it sure was pathetic. About 7 years since Alcala was traded for and supposed to become a fair replacement for Ryan Pressly. I guess that ship never came in. Celestino must have hi-jacked it.

    I agree that Baldelli is continuing to prove his ineptness in many ways, but it was Correa that should have been on second, I believe. He ran out there with Castro. Correa should know that the second baseman is the relay man on and ball to deep right center. Correa was all the way to the first base side of Castro, chosing to back up Castro? for some reason? And shouldn't Castro be smart enough to not throw a ball if nobody is there? Awareness. Isn't that what Miranda got sent down for? I mean, he was hitting about the same as Correa and better than Vazquez. Now we have last years team mandatory default representative replacement "all-star" and the supossed team leader ultra-vet with bonehead plays, on the same play! I don't think that one is on Baldelli.

    Kinda. Only if you have an option. No accountability for the high paid. Just excuses. But Miranda’s lackadaisical effort was a showcase of the effort and focus this team is showing. I mean, he didn’t even bother to look at the ump, OR EVEN TOUCH SECOND. Look at the pitching depth that performed well, and the reward is immediate DFA for a managers mismanagement.

    If we didn’t have such prepared for the season high dollar team leaders like Correa and Buxton, we probably would have had to go with below replacement level options. Then where would we be? May we be grateful we are so blessed.

    The best part of the game was Lopez piling sunflower seeds in Watkins' belt gap above his belt in the rear, a plumbers type of gap without the crack showing, created as he stood leaning over a knee on the step of the dugout - Watkins without a clue - until it was overflowing, all across the back, and then when Watkins' went out to coach base when the Twins came in to bat, he started picking at his butt and back (What the Hell!) as gravity called and they got sucked down into his pants. That was hilarious.

    Baldelli Ball strikes again! And so soon. Just took the next game. 64 pitches (41 strikes), 2 outs in the 5th, and your starter has only given up 3 hits total and 1 walk with 4Ks...... so of course, with all the overuse of the "Best Bullpen in MLB", you pull him. The only reason you have a runner on third and a run in --- is because a throw from right that was a little off ("Matt Wallner uncorked an unwieldy shot, evidently tricky enough to evade two defenders and eventually roll into the Tigers dugout. The runner scores." Seriouisly? Unweildy? "Unearned, of course....") but certainly shouldn't have been a problem to at least stop, was deflected by the $35 million shortstop hitting a buck 50, and then Mr. utility defense Castro misses it under his glove (very likely would have had it if not for Correa's missed attempt) and it rolls into the dougout. So instead of a runner on 2nd and third with 2 outs, and no runs in, you have a run in, a runner on third, AND YOU PULL YOUR STARTER WITH ONLY 64 PITCHES! Alcala implodes, Topa gives up 2 inherited runs, Castro boots another later, and you use Gasper, who shouldn't even be on an MLB roster, as your DH. A DH that can't, and never has, hit in the show, and he is all you've got because you used one of your hottest batters, Bader, as a pinch runner one batter earlier for Julien (who is having a hot game going 3/5), with the tying run on third to end the game on a soft (of course it is) grounder. Baldelli Ball.

    73 pitches and cruising. Thinking too much and pulling the starter. Baldelli Ball returns. If Ober is getting bombed leave him in to eat innings, but cruising and winning? Pull him with only 73 pitches after 6. And why? Best bullpen in MLB. Just don’t ask them to hold a runner and throw it to first. Or not hit batters. And now use 3 pitchers in 2 innings. Smart though. By blowing the save and relying on an anemic offense, you save an inning for the pen and don’t have to pitch the 9th. And that Julien slide? Decisive.

    They want Varland to be "good" so bad, but he really hasn't performed except in the minors and at the end of a couple years ago when brought up and pitched relief. Baldelli sure is giving him lots of chances to perform, but he gets hit a lot. Best Bullpen in MLB.

    Maybe it is selective memory on my part, but our batters seem to love to take first pitch meat right down the middle, then swing at the next pitch out of zone (example Vazquez in the 10th), and our pitchers love to serve first pitch meat to the opponent - but they swing, and do a lot of damage (example Jax to both the first two batters in the 9th). Will Buxton ever learn to not swing at pitches a foot out of the zone low and outside? Castro sure was a liability in the field, today. That 3 play sequence in the 5th where he misses the grounder that turns into a double (instead of a possible double play, not scored an error but a play you expect a third baseman to make), makes a good play like MLB players should on the next grounder but throws it too high to first for a run scoring error, and after a single that scored Meyers who hit the first grounder Castro missed, he doesn’t make the play on the pop up that looked Iike Bader could have made if Castro wasn’t in the way. The sac fly that followed then scored the third run of the players involved in the sequence. 7-4 Castro all over the 3 runs given up.

    Sports' fans are generally childish. They hate other teams and players just because they always beat their own favorite team. Not all, but in general. They like to talk tough like school yard bullies, and see pitchers purposely throw at batters and "have your back", like that ever really does. I am ambivalent about the booing, really. I don't really care, mostly. I love baseball, so I love to watch other teams excel and appreciate great plays, no matter who does it. I always hate when umpires guess wrong and affect the human aspect of the game...... the players' excellent pitch or take (and it can't be corrected). In this specific case, I never appreciated, and still don't, the lack of apology from Altuve and Correa. They never had to serve a penalty for the long term, premeditated cheat. They never really admitted to doing it. I really don't mind the booing of them, and find it comical and entertaining when I see it, all over the league. It is deafening and uproariously funny in Dodger Stadium. They both deserve it, because they never fessed up. I find it massively hypocritical of Minnesota fans to ignore Correa's behavior, but hate on Altuve. If you are going to give Correa a pass, and actually honor him, then hating on Altuve is sanctimonious and self-righteous. Not a good look.

    The pitch wasn't high and that tight, it was more high and center. It was just above the zone, barely, maybe even touching the top of the zone. Pena crushed it. But as Ryan said, it was what they wanted to do.... go up the ladder, have it close to the zone, and the bet was Pena would swing under it. High and tight would have been better, for sure, but then maybe he takes. On an 0-2 count, it was too close, either way. Pena won that one.

Twins fans merilessly boo Altuve, still, just like all the other stadiums in which Houston visits. And all the other stadiums mercilessly boo Correa, still, except Houston...... and Minnesota. They boo them for the same reason - that they cheated the game, and were never compunctious, and never had to suffer a penalty for it. Why boo Altuve in Minnesota, if you give Correa a pass (and actually revere him), when he did exactly the same thing you are booing Altuve for?

    Maybe he needs to train with Correa again, eh? Beause Carlos really knows how to prepare for a season.

    Correa got a hit. That’s a positive. Saw the TD poll on how many games are the Twins going to win just before the comments.     “It’s a process-over-results game, especially this early in the season,” Jeffers said. I like results over process, myself. These guys like to talk about exit velocity like it is more important than scoring runs. Seems to be the most important thing to writers, too. Give me 5 runs on weak contact to no runs on record contact any day. Kudos to Wallner for running on the lame fly ball and getting a double when the wind helped him out. That’s how you play baseball

    Best bullpen in MLB. 3/6 inherited runners scored for the season. Familiar. The ST routines really have the boys ready for the season. Ready for September baseball.

    The second "oh my" at toward the end of the movie as Crash deftly and precisely unsnaps the garter with a one finger flick was a perfect reprise, too, eh? Especially after the great scene with Nuke's struggles. Yes, Brockmire, like many shows, suffered from renewal and not ending the story when it needed to be ended. Just the 4th season for me. But the first season...... and the very best ever opening scene of the series....... fulgurant.

    No balk. That this is not reviewable, or can't be challenged is the problem. Or that the umps can't conference and fix it. He did it all very calmly and deliberately. Kept his hands still, stepped off, turned and threw. Horrible call. The kind that should be corrected. Batters sure are getting to his pitches, though. Whether it's soft contact or hard contact, it is tons of contact.

    "Oh, my!" ........ and..... "Oh, my." My #1 favorite baseball movie. (But "Brockmire" my favorite baseball series.) There are sooooo many great lines. So many. "Well, I believe in the soul, the c___, the p____, the small of a woman's back, the hangin' curveball, high fiber, good scotch, that the novels of Susan Sontag are self-indulgent over-rated crap. I believe Lee Harvey Oswald acted alone. I believe there ought to be a constitutional amendment outlawing Astroturf and the designated hitter. I believe in the sweet spot, soft core pornography, opening your presents Christmas morning rather than Christmas eve and I believe in long, slow, deep, soft, wet kisses that last three days. Good night."
