  1. And that is why Baldelli is not a manager I want to keep. Over and over and over and over he does this. Takes out hot hitters for our scrubs. Yep. I said it. Comparative scrubs. The last picked on the playground. But Julien, the guy hitting .202 and striking out at an unbelievable pace? Yes, even Julien. After all, Farmer is hitting .145 against mostly opposite side pitching. His forte, eh? Edit: and Farmer doubles! Ha! Score one for the stat sheet and Baldelli.
  2. Raleigh a .206 hitter. Like giving up a home to Julien 😇 Baldelli calling all the right shots today, eh? The two bullpen picks of Falvey. Ouch.
  3. Learning that sometimes they just don't belong was useful when I was teaching people to hang glide. Sometimes people want it very bad, but just don't have the right stuff. At least playing baseball, the consequences aren't gonna kill you. Probably.
  4. That totally sucked for the Twins and Jeffers. Could very well affect this ball game greatly. That would have been 2 outs. Gotta see the ball to catch it. Would have been routine pop up to catcher. Morneau always has such compassionate excuses for our guys.
  5. Ryan and Ober get the B pen. Both close games, Ryan behind by 2, Ober ahead by two.
  6. It also isn't wrong for there to be real bench players, and not play much at all. Regulars that get to hit pitchers left and right.
  7. Detroit now up 4 in the bottom of the 9th...... looking like we could pick up a game on Cleveland with a win here.
  8. Salvador Perez might be the vote, but they should both get a selection of some sort. Perez is killing it, too. https://www.mlb.com/player/salvador-perez-521692
  9. Because it is the preferred way to game the new pitch clock rule, and get extra time without stepping up and throwing a pitch. Seattle did it several times yesterday.
  10. Jeffers will do just fine. That was quick.
  11. There goes the perfect game...... I wish these guys would get started earlier in the games.
  12. Too bad Watson wasn't coaching third for the Mariners in the top of the second. He would have held Urias at third..........
  13. Consider this one a lucky gift 😇 Maybe the secret is to bring him in with no one on base and the pressure doesn't get to him. I mean, after all, this season he has inherited 6 runners, and 4 of them scored! That's not a good teammate! And that doesn't even start to count the now 6.14 ERA with 5 of his own earned in 7.1 innings! I am a bit concerned that Baldelli is giving the ninth to Thielbar, 3-4-5 batters, when we have Duran back. But it worked out tonight.
  14. Some, as in plural? Me to. But there is only one. And proud of it. How do you get them now, I wonder?
  15. Ooooooo, defensive. Do you have one you don't like people to see? Public Intoxication. Probably one that could have been ignored and just sent him home. Power tripping the student? Tis nothing. He took a good mug shot. Doesn't even look intoxicated.
  16. Anybody but Thielbar, I hope. But then, Baldelli and his Caleb love affair......
  17. Ryan being rattled was just the announcer’s opinion, and now some are buying it. I can’t read minds, He had a right to be pissed. 6 innings and 3 earned will go down as a quality start. The runner ahead of the homer should have been caught but Castro was in center and had a terrible read and let it drop. Another run called earned was Correa’s boot of the hot shot off his glove. Ryan did just fine. Angel Hernandez has earned the recognition by a career of poor performances that it is ALWAYS his fault until MLB finally gets rid of him.
  18. Even with the defense, a so called quality start for Ryan. This game has been rapid.
  19. How do you get hitters to raise their success against same side pitching? Not pinch hitting a .170 hitter for him.
  20. Yeah. Coaches are blowhards anyway. 😇
  21. Ryan gets no help from the defense today. Castro slow read on the fly ball, too. Homer on Ryan, but the defense lets him down both last two innings. I think my first little league coach told me “if you can get your glove on the ball, you can and should catch it”.. Maybe not true all the time…. especially from little leaguers
  22. And yet, he was too much for Correa and the infield in shift.
