  1. And to think Hughes could be back on the highway with no cost without the genius of Terry Ryan. Hughes is cooked. Waiting will be a waste of time.
  2. No. There is also the amazing Beresford! Give the guy a break. He wasn't writing a book, just pointing out a few comparables. Do you have some that you would like to contribute? They would be welcome.
  3. The worst. It is funny to read those in denial. Talent? When .230 hitters are called talent, fans have been numbed by futility.
  4. Dozier has really messed up his Appreciation week. Bummer. His switch is on or off..... no dimmer for subtle gradual changes.
  5. Buxton got a bit cocky with his over the shoulder basket catch attempt last night on a drive by Anderson of the White Sox. Official scorer was a home boy charity worker and gave Anderson a triple instead of Buxton an error. Hey - I stopped what I was doing and watched.
  6. Ha. Definitely fun to see him run. The more runnin' the more cunnin' the more funnin'. Pitchers trying to pick him off, catchers trying to throw him out. Umpires trying to call it right. Challenge and mind games. Run Byron run.
  7. One of the things I would like to stop what I am doing and watch Buxton do IS STEAL BASES! He is 10/12 this season, and 12/16 career. Molitor is supposed to be a base stealing wiz. One would think he could be way more influential in getting Buxton stealing bases and using this wonderous speed he is blessed with, but Buxton rarely even attempts to steal. Nunez burried Buxton, and he isn't really that fast! It is a shame that Buxton has shown very little growth stealing.
  8. Will comments help? The article seems to be part of the cooling off. Dozier has one single in his last 22 at bats with 6 Ks in the last 5 games since his hitting streak ended. Come on Dozier, it has been declared Brian Dozier week, and fans have needs!
  9. No decision, actually. But he was one out from qualifying for the win. Molitor does goofy things, but nothing could make me miss Gardenhire.
  10. It seems that the article, like talking about a no hitter in progress, has jinxed Buxton's hot spell return. I seem to remember he started out hot a couple of the previous returns from Rochester, too. Here's to a hot last 5 games of the season. But don't watch. Maybe too many eyes brings back the strikeout demons.
  11. Funny! And clever. Make the new guy Falvey earn his cred.
  12. Sure they can afford to. Best shut him down for the year now. One more game and his average stands to drop into the .250s.
  13. He can't run for president for a couple years..... Perhaps Francona will follow him? I was was thinking young.... but not necessarily robbing the cradle. I was thinking Baby Falvey for GM, but not POBO. Time will tell. Looking forward to something completely different.
  14. Nothing makes Grossman look any better than he is. The video of his double error that was connected to the MLB box on September 23 has been swapped out for the Seattle feed and doesn't show the second kicking the ball error.
  15. Historically awful team. It is really hard to be this bad. There was a time after the all-star break that the Twins had the best second half record in baseball. They were back to only 20 games under.500. They dropped another 24 games below since. Molitor is a horrible manager.... not opinion, just fact supported by the record. To lead this team to tanking instead of inspiring the young supposed future stars, there is a lot of his guidance that was responsible.
  16. He wouldn't have made my staff out of Spring Training. If he can succeed elsewhere, good for him. No tears.
  17. McLeod would be my pick. The way I understand it, the new president is to chose the GM. If this Molitor obstacle is truly going to be pushed, it is only for a year by contract. The interviews, as it has been promoted, have no GM selection component. The new POBO needs to be the one making the selections down the ladder after he is hired.
  18. He was mirroring the original post on purpose, and quite cleverly, to help point out the small sample, which was apparently too hard to see for some to see.
  19. A player from your system finally puts all the development together and becomes even more than you had ever thought possible.... and the "real fans" all say reward the fans and player by getting rid of them. It seems the real fans want perpetual hope and dreams prospects to write about instead of MLB standouts. Reward success by kicking them out the door. Not me. Any return for Dozier won't even dent the pitching problem. It would be like a fly ramming an army tank. Good thing folks don't trade their family assets for new prospects and strangers just when they have put all the rearing and personal growth together and are at peak performance.
  20. Looking like a push for the number one draft pick to me.
  21. Molitor is just as bad as Gardenhire about playing players out of position. It surely contributes to leading the league in errors. Molitor is lost.
  22. Just as actors play a defining role and get type cast.... to assume one can't adapt behavior to a different organization is a bit close minded.
  23. Hmmmmmmmmm. Said with confidence though, like they knew better.
  24. I can take all the other cosmetic nuances, even the way Plouffe dares to unbutton his jersey, but did you see the way he ties his shoes? Left over right instead of right over left? How could one even notice how he walked off with that shoe technique so glaring? Sheesh. You would think he should care what fans are thinking about things like that when walking in pain.
  25. Terry Ryan always told us - and people who knew him personally testified he was the most honest person they knew - that there were no salary restrictions. It appears he just wouldn't spend the money he could have. Pohlad also confirmed that more than once. The TD meme of salary limitations could be clouded in opinion, and not fact. Time to have someone not afraid to push the limits that don't exist. Anthopalooza time!
