    I'll repeat the curse of Ortiz: The last playoff series won by the Twins Ortiz was on the team. Since he left the Twins have won 2 playoff games and Ortiz has won 3 World Series rings. If that isn't a curse what is?

    I think its expecting a lot to think Willingham will produce much when he comes back. He looked bad last year when he played, looked bad in spring training nothing really to say he didn't just get old kind of fast. Now he hasn't played in nearly two months odds are not good he'll produce much (I'll let Brian figure the odds, he's good at math). ...Brian...Brian...Brian get the calculator out!

    If you have the means to check possibly the pitchers are throwing a little harder after the first few weeks of season as they stretch out their arms and the weather warms up. Just a thought!

    "The Rising Cost of Brian Dozier" should actually read The potential rising cost of Brian Dozier. They have this year and next before arbitration kicks in, no reason to be in a hurry. Let him prove himself for more than a year. A lot of baseball and a lot of bad things can happen before he even reaches his first year of arbitration.

    Well we have worked our way into the basement of the Central. Last year on May 8 we were 15-15 this year 15-18 not a lot of progress.

    This year Floriman's slash line is: .109/.186/.156/.342 ops plus of, drum roll, -2. Serious question, has any major league player played nearly every day this late in the season with a worse line? This is a wild guess but a negative ops+ is bad, right?

    This is what happens in Gardy's mind if he has his catcher dh and the other catcher gets hurt. Thus a 3rd catcher who appears completely useless at the "major league level" is needed.

    Halsey was great either uncontrollable laughing or a coughing fit from his cigars. Not much else but he was fun!

    IMO both Dick and Bert talk too much. It's early, small sample size and all, but I like that Morris doesn't think he needs to fill every second with talk. As he does more games he likely will get more comfortable and improve his delivery. Bert really could use a new spiel.
