    We don't know what is going on in the front office but It's easy to speculate. He was hired several weeks ago and he may or may not have already set some moves in place and I'm sure he has a phone as do the people in the Twins office. The Indians played the Twins 17 times this year and they certainly have an extensive scouting report on the Twins so he should already have some ideas what to do.

    I'd tend to go with the best position player. Pitchers are just so hard to judge, seems like a much higher fail rate and always the chance of injury finishing his career early. And I know we really need pitching.

    This is as much about money as the player. Picking first gives them a chance to sign the guy early and maybe below slot which can give them extra money to sign a hard sign type later. It also gives them the most international money to spend and since they never go over that it should help or some could be traded. Of course, MLB could change the rules this winter just to stick to the Twins.

    He did walk the guy which is what he was trying to do. It would have been a lot worse if he'd missed over the plate and the guy drilled a homer. So no not the worst about what we should expect really.
