    Does anyone know if adding a player in Sept to the 40 man and bringing them up burn up an option year? found an answer: Once a player has been placed on a team's 40-man roster, a team has 3 option years on that player. A player is considered to have used one of those three option years when he spends at least 20 days in the minors in any of those 3 seasons. This probably why they only bring up guys already on the 40 man, just a guess.

    I don't understand why you'd bring any of the minor league managers up. The players coming up fail in basic fundamentals daily. That is not the Major league managers job to teach fundamentals those things need to be learned long before a player gets to the majors. Saying that I'm not defending Molitor in any way but thinking Mauer or Mietkiewicz are the answer when they keep sending up unprepared players doesn't make any sense, imo.

    ...and Terry Ryan is fired, they are looking for a Pres. of BB Ops and new GM. It will take a little time to fix this mess. If by the winter meetings there haven't been some serious changes in the front office and system wide coaching tree then we should all complain until the cows come home.

    I can remember Steve Allen on the original Tonight Show. Very funny guy even for a young kid. Humor was a little different back then.

    2011-2016 the Twins have 397 wins the least of any team in the Majors. Next is Miami with 418, this is the reality. I think we all wish there was more positive stuff to talk about but this team really hasn't given us much and that is the reality. I think everyone hopes the new people hired will turn things around and give us plenty to be happy about.

    At this point I think we need to wait until the new hires have a chance to work some of this out. The fire the manager threads every day are kind of silly at this point. Let the new people get started and do some house cleaning and don't expect it to happen over night. I'm willing to give the new people at least 2-3 days before complaining about time to fire them! Now if Antony is still the GM next year and the front office and coaching staffs through out the system are mostly the same then it's time for real anger.

    Gardy had 3-90+ loss seasons in a row and got a new 2 yr contract. Does that count?

    Sorry, but no manager alive could win with this pitching. Let the new people do the job they are hired to do. It will take a while to weed though the people, replacing some and keeping some but it will take time. Looking at how unprepared most of the young guys look when they come up, position players and pitchers alike, I think the minor league coaching needs a housecleaning.
